Thanks PK x
Saturday pleasures,
Slept in late and caught up on some sleep.
Got to the yard, girlie had broken through her fence and was happily keeping her neighbour company in his field! Luckily they get on really well and no damage done, apart from the fence....damage reported
Hot clothed her to remove dirt and grease from coat then clipped her chest hair off as she can get hot, it took longer than normal as she didn’t like my big clippers so had to use the smaller face trimmers on her but she was a good girl for her Mum.
Picked up some carrots and parsnips from farm stall on way home. There were lots of tractors working in fields, winter sowing I presume so the added pleasure of look and smell of our dark Fen earth.
Cosied up with wine and candles, we are enjoying binge watching Gold Digger.0 -

4. Made spicy white kidney bean pasties and tomato & rice soup for breakfast and lunches for the next few days :-)
5. Made an Autumnal wreath for the door from a £1.90 frame and some tweed and tartan fabric donated by my Mum!0 -
Well the weather is really starting to get me down, it's raining yet again. But fortunately still a few pleasures.

Hello. Sat up in bed with a shawl/ wrap round my shoulders...channeling my inner granny!
Blooming freezing. Already 0o and to be -4o overnight ( with a heady top of 4o tomorrow)

1 Under the weather again just seems to be a mild lergy, but it didn’t stop us eating and drinking, the pork roast, a few cheat roasties, and veg it was lovely.
2 Thankful again for the ovens self-clean function after a few messy meals.
3 Sitting with a tea, reading the love song of quennie Hennessey on Kindle, with Lewis on in the background.
4 DH playing about learning printing, I now have a self printed toothless wrapped around my laptop cover.
5 There may just have been a midnight cupcake. I’ll count that for today..0 -
Sunday pleasures,
Up early but small dog reluctant to leave her warm basket and just run back to it after quick toilet visit to garden.
Which kind of set the tone for the rest of the day, not too much got done but relaxing and enjoyable.
Listened to the Archers and then had a long bath.
Slow roasted pork belly with celeriac mash and other veg, too full for any dessert.
Watched a bit of tv, read a fair bit and small dog got her walk.0 -
Don't worry BoP - my lips are sealed.
Pleasures over the last couple of days
1. Snuggled down to sleep into lovely fresh bed sheets and masses of pillows.
2. Watched the first part of Ant and Dec's DNA journey on catch-up. Brilliant.
3. The tastiest GF steak and ale pie I've ever had
4. Someone gave us a fishing rod, reels and net they no longer wanted (we've just got into fishing at a local pond and normally borrow our gear from the owner) and they wouldn't take anything for them.
5. Found Shirley Valentine in the charity shop for £1.50 and spent the evening watching it and knitting DH's jumper
6. Coming out of a pub yesterday evening and breathing in that lovely combination of autumn leaf smells, wood fire and rain that just stopped before we came out.
7. Watching our two cats chase each other around the house. Finally our old boy has someone he can play silly sods with.
8. DH and I hunched over his phone in the back of the car to listen to an exciting end to the F1 yesterday0 -
Some from the weekend:
- a nice breakfast and delicious cappuccino with OH in a local eaterie
- a stroll through the churchyard where we were married a thousand years ago
- OH cooked dinner yesterday- roast lamb and trimmings; a rare treat not to have to cook!
- Both (adult) children got home from their Saturday nights out at a reasonable hour, so I didn’t lay awake into the early hours listening out for them and worrying!
- caught up on some good TV, and tuned into I’m a Celebrity last night with a glass of Red.0
