Hello. Well there you go work done and dusted till same time next week! Hurrah.

Woke to a warmer house but waaaah at the smart meter! But it was -2o so sod the meter!

Walked up to boss’ to pick up keys then walked to work. So not busy but enjoyed the company of colleagues.

Finished an hour early. So quiet but decent enough tips for having not been busy. Nice walk home. Beautiful clear sky. Very cold. Think we reached a top of 6o today.

Home with more baked potatoes, some mushy bananas that will go in freezer and turn into banana bread at some point and deeelicious soup that son can have!

Home....hello dog lets go a very quick walk. DD2 had had pizza so had a couple of slices and then a hot shower and then jammies on...I’m going nowhere tonight.

Hello, long time since I was last here....

    1. Finding the forums haven’t changed too much

    2. Having confidence to adapt recipes when cooking, learnt from tips on this forum

    3. Having food, shelter and central heating on a cold rainy night.

    4. Cold sunny dry days

    5. Finally reaching the last month of my dmp
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • 1 I have been squirrelling little Christmas presents for DH, however when we are walking around C0stco a few days ago and he fell heavily for a Bose soundbar as he has hearing issues but could hear it perfectly so we could put it behind us on the sofa, , so here I am hoping the black Friday deals give about 80 percent off…

2 I had my haircut, I know it sounds daft but it’s a big thing for me, I get very anxious and have very long hair, I’ve found a local place which was recently taken over, where she has long hair also, an hour later it feels wonderful, tidied up with a long layer it’s gone back to naturally curly, a proper confidence boost, and as it was my first visit there I got 50 percent off a very pleasant surprise.

3 Just made a leftovers bowl of pasta with previously made pesto, topped with various grated veg.

4 Keeping an eye on a dress that’s now in the sale I’ve had my eye on all year, but I’m hoping it may go further in price with the black sale days looming. I’m not normally interested but this year there are a few things.

5 Exercise class a pleasure it’s been achieved.

    Pleasures for today (Thursday).

    1) Good to get up after a disturbed sleep. I'd accidentally left the key in the door so bigger son could not get in and woke me up at 1am. Went back to sleep. Woken from 2am onwards by smaller son being very ill and having to clean up the aftermath of that...

    2) Rained ALL DAY! It probably still is. All lanes and roads flooded nearby, 2 lorries stuck in it at the foot of the hill into the village, car floating around in it outside the next village. Local high school shut early. Pleasure is only a couple of drops leaked down the chimney.

    3) Hens OK.

    4) Stove going for hours - am getting to grips with the new one.

    5) Sold another item on Ebay so posted both those off.

    6) Gave the bathroom another, better clean...

    7) Bigger son made a cooked breakfast so we didn't need any lunch.

    8) Smaller son was very ill all day (delirious at one point) but made a miraculous recovery from about 6pm and is now up and about.

    9) Very exciting email! I had very occasionally done some volunteering for a local museum. I've got the unusual qualification that means I can sign museum paperwork off and they want me to work for them (freelance) to pull all their accreditation stuff together! This is not something I have done for some time but it should be possible. Its a bit like an Ofsted report for museums.

With that offer, plus the invigilation and the election work coming up, I've turned down the college job. It would have been 3 months tomorrow since my interview (!) and no sign of a start date coming up so its a bye bye to them.
  • Struggled,to,find pleasures today as a tough day at work is still in my mind.... but here goes [ probably not all old style]

    1. Lock change and convincing a vulnerable DV victim person to go to the police .....still worried for her!

    2. DD2 here for a couple of nights, so a good old catch up.

    3. Still safe from the floods, despite getting wet through walking the dogs.

    4. To do list....done

    5. Blessed to be happy, content and warm with loved ones.

    6. Am I allowed 6? .... curled up in bed and some much needed sleep...goodnight folks
Well Behaved women seldom make history

    Early retirement goal... 2026

    That job sounds good Frith

    Thursday pleasures,

Waiting on an electrician to come round so stuck in house but made the most of my time and got chores done.

Various niggly jobs completed for cost of parts and a box of beer, pal’s hubby.

A neck cover for girlie’s turnout rug arrived in post so over to the yard, it had rained hard all morning and she was wet so brought her in, towelled her down and popped a fleece on her whilst I fixed on the the neck cover. Turned her back out all snuggly.

Very late lunch of soup and roll followed by long walk with small dog, the rain had stopped and we even had a little sunshine.

Watched first half of footie but obvious what was going to happen so found some comedy instead.

    You're wonderful. :T

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. That first cup of tea when I got back from a mammoth shop
    2. Curled up in bed with the electric blanket on while drinking it
    3. Watching cat playing with the feather duster and a rolled up piece of newspaper. Huge zoomies around the top of the house
    4. Sorting out some more books to go to Ziffit/charity shop
    5. Getting a free bar of chocolate using the Shopmium
    6. Charity shop picked up our unwanted armchair so now I have some clear space
  • How to delicious Red Velvet Cake?

  • Be careful, that is not advice from BoP, as yous could burn yours fingers! Do not try this yourens.

Ms D Beena. Don't meess with things like cake and eat it here! Oh, welcome!

    Now onto BoP bits

Another finger inn the Lunch Box of BoP today. Another fudge, well it did come in a multipack bargun from the emporium. Other items are the usual bits and bobs.

Last day at mill this weak, and tomorrow BoP is at the JAM again, tea and cake available in the caff, on the Trident. Viewing inn the morning.

Need weather check to see ifs BoP is at the flicks tonite. It is a 50 50 chence I thinks, so a trip could be on. More details on the Big Warster Train later.

As I don’t watch car crash tv from the bbc anymore, I am often astounded by the looks I gets their fleecing charity cin comes out! How I miss it since that host was paid more for that night than the single mother on the checkout earned in a year. So if they ask again this year?

Also I see the coin of hope that was to make you rich, has turned out like any other rich as yous ever be scam, a scam! Please use common sense before letting you hard earned cash disappear.

Talking of disappear, I note the local educationalists had closed some skools because of last days slush. This very morn it has disappeared! There had to gets that one inn!

PM2DD No match, no manager! Oh, what could possibly go wrong?

That is all for the Lunch Bites this day!

A century ago Ross Macpherson Smith and brother Keith took just 28 days to fly from London to Australia. In 1934, DH88 Comet race Grosvenor House won the MacRobertson air race to Australia in around 72. Comet racer is not at JAM, but at the Shuttleworth collection and still flies. Them bloody aussies now fly in a 787 in around 19 hours and 16 minutes!

    How time flies!
