  • DD, an amazing job, and I have serious book envy.

1 So, the music in the kitchen has reminded me to put the net curtain back up now the dusty work has finished to prevent [STRIKE]continued[/STRIKE] neighbour hysterics.

2 Writing, a lot of writing and experimenting with a voice to text app.

3 I threw together tea of a cawli and chicken bake? Well it’s what I have lurking, and I assume healthy, I added it to one pot and popped it in the oven.

4 I’ve made a flu jab appt at boots as the docs doesn’t seem to be working any more, still free apparently so nice to be able.

5 Spent 2 hours on the phone with DB, just chatting.

    1) day started with having to move the car - we drove round all the uni car parks (we had a free pass) but totally full. then we drove past the car-park next to the hotel and lo and behold someone was just pulling out and that car-park was freeeeee :D
    2) then a very nice cooked breakfast and off to day 2 of the conference
    3) packed away the left over egg sandwich and fruit at end of lunch for my tea
    4) a mooch round the shops - bought myself some harry potter 9 3/4 earrings, a friend a frida kahlo emery board (she's a huge FK fan and we were picking her up after work to give her a lift home) and another friend going through a tuff time a pewter heart
    5) conference colleague dropped FK colleague off at home then me off at concert as it was on her way back home - i was 100 mins early so, after eating my egg sarnie, went next door for a pint and a read of my book. I reckon £3.60 for warmth was well worth it :D (and bus fare would have been £2.20 of that so glad i got a lift)

    Pleasures for today (Friday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens OK.

    3) Had a good tidy up - washing and washing up mountains, cleaned kitchen, bathroom and the stairs. Sorted out all the hoodies (I keep buying them for sons from charity shops and there must be 30 - which is ridiculous) and cleaned any tiny mould outbreaks from the ceilings upstairs.

    4) Popped down to help my dad and brother make then bottle apple juice.

    5) Made chow mein for tea.

    6) Went to pick up bigger son and smaller son and I popped in to Sainsburys then "looked" (played on!) the computers in PC World - one of his favourite activities.

    7) Ate some chestnuts just now that my brother collected.

    8) Have been watching tv.

Rain on my bedroom window is noisy but a nice noise.

Worked a few hours. Was alright. In work out .
    Home. Doggy walk.

Made a nice dinner of gammon, roast potatoes (leftover baked potatoes from work) baby corn & peas.

Walked round to my mothers as my sister was up visiting. Stayed an hour.

    Chat with friend on phone.

    Good Morning Folks,

    Yesterday

    1. Stuffed the seat cushions of the 'disaster of a sofa' bought on EBay.....Used three old cushions and some old duvet filling. They are now re plumped, and it was a free repair. (Just waiting for the sofa springs to be delivered, and we can actually sit down on it!).

    2. Made chicken Laksa for lunch, chicken tray bake for tea, and Coq au Vin for tea tonight. Nice to be able to do proper cooking.

    3. Emptied DD's room ready for her return, but it looks like she will have to dash off to her next contract......she is joining the circus for a month :rotfl:

    4. Fireworks at the local park, with young friends. The rain held off...... Fireworks were a bit of a disappointment compared to previous years. May have to try a posher part of town next year :rotfl:

    5. A bid received for one of my EBay items :j

    Have a lovely day :)

    1. Watched the rugby. I enjoyed it as no nerves. I finished my ironing.

    2. Met a friend for lunch. We had a good catch up and lunch was very reasonably priced.

    3. Picked up parcel from local shop. Now have more Christmas oresents.

    4. Met friends for a meal in the evening. A lovely evening and tried somewhere new.

    5. Being out meant I didn't have to see the evening rugby match on tv.

    Friday pleasures,

Cracked on and was busy for an hour or so with cleaning house.

Went into village for bird seed and had a bit of a ooh moment in garden centre car park, a mother & daughter walking into shop, arm in arm just like DM and I use to, still miss her so much especially at this time of year as she loved all the festive preparations and saw 1st November as legitimate start.

Arrangements made to meet up with pals, numerous messages to and fro but date set.

Grey, dismal afternoon weather wise so fired up oven and made bread, biscuits and flapjack.

Capt S home and weekend starts.

Right, off to watch the rugby, Come on England!

  • It's a really awful dark and rainy day here but despite that.

    1. Managed to walk the dogs without getting to wet.

    2. Meal plan done, weekly shop done and got some great deals from the local butchers.

    3. Last load of washing almost finished and snugly winter duvet covers now on all the beds.

    4. Sat with a cuppa watching the football and browsing old style threads.

    5. DD and her partner have been shopping and are cooking dinner for us all tonight....not sure what, but I do know it's Mexican food.
