    Good morning,

Lainey Thanks for the info on Escape to the Chateau! Waiting for my Nectar Double Up, so I can buy a couple of Angels cushions from Sainsbury's :o Not MSE :o

    DD What an adventure!

    Yesterday

    1. Lots of washing done. Some even put on the line!

    2. The Bay parcels posted in time. More sales........saving up for a new sofa.

    3. Planted up the pots at the front door with rtc pansys and cyclamen. Looks very jolly.

    4. Decluttering, by making an apron for school, from a suede coat which is too small, and has been hanging around in the mending pile for too long.

    5. Dinner at a Bistro. (Groupon ). Posh celebrity chef. Lovely food and atmosphere.

We are trying to organise a treat for everyday of half term, as we did not manage to book a week away. (I did find a cheap cruise, but the dates were not quite right......sigh).

    Have a lovely day :)

    1. Caught my bus despite going back for my phone.

    2. Work frustrating but ok. It doesn't change much.

    3. Went to see Ben Elton. It was a present for DH. He enjoyed it after having decided he didn't want to go. He was acting like a petulant teenager. I didn't lose it but it came close.
    I enjoyed it.

    4. Cooked tea which we had before we left. Normally would have eaten after.

    Monday pleasures,

Cold and frosty start so scarf and gloves needed for visit to emporium.

Packed up two eB*y sales and sent off, money is stashed for the forthcoming festive season.

Over to see equine girlie, the yard had thick fog and seemed even colder, put her rug on when turned her back out.

Snuggling on sofa under warm throw and watching a Poirot.

Tuna and broccoli bake for tea, watched Uni Challenge and then found Hot Fuzz being shown on one of the many channels, chuckles before bedtime.
  • I see Frith has a new kitten? Theres summits to yarn about!

I knows I was at the quack centre of the earth yesterday! Rebooted, eyed glued up and a reset carried out. Don’t thinks me vertigo is better, hence I get the free aids for the lugs! Eyes did water though!

I is reading the paper this day, and I find that about 130,000 years ago our footprints wobbled the earth on its side and then we … More available off this if you used the duck as the search engine.

Right, inns mes thirst lunch box of the weak, I has too of the proper digestives, a rocky, salad, cheese, not smoked of the wooded apples, and a orange thing. After yesterdays visit to the quack centre, should I bee still eating the orange?

Well again I is a bit short for the spoonfilled of BoP this lunch time.
    BoP’s xmas tip.
Don’t spend all your money thinking on trinkets, in the slope of them bringing happiness!

    Pleasures today -

Sunny morning, dog having fun running around in the park.

Session at the gym, getting the circulation going.

Freshly-ground and brewed coffee whilst reconciling the bank account.

Practising the songs we will be singing at Rock Choir next week, at full volume.

Made a small batch of Tiger Balm, it smells gorgeous.

Reading up on treating coughs and colds with herbs. Did you know the cold remedies you buy can actually stop your immune system from doing its proper job and you can end up feeling worse?

Anticipating leftover beef stew tonight, warming with a bit of buttery mashed potato.

Anticipating hot shower tonight and curling up in clean pyjamas to watch some TV, if there's owt worth watching. If not, there's stuff on Netflix and Iplayer. Or there's books. No need to get bored.

nargle how do you make tiger balm? Is it easy?

Back to work for a few hours. Worked. Then home. Decent tips for the time I was in. Had my ‘I’m just in a few hours I can do this ‘head on and it worked!

Drove ( had to remember to drive back as I’m so used to walking.

Washing out and almost dried outside. Colleague asked why I bothered hanging it out? Because there’s sunshine and a breeze. And it might not be bone dry but better than wet washing hanging about my house.

Had a very mini snoozette/eyes shut listening to a podcast.

Hot shower and scruffy clothes on. I’m doing absolutely not a lot this evening. DD at work and son goes climbing on a Tuesday. Shall find something lurking in the freezer.

A snuggling dog as always a comfort.
  • Zebra child here with us until Thursday, we've had a sausage eating competition, made Halloween black card bats for him to take home and he's watching the Lego Movie in my chair, lovely.

Nice day with the family and the Oreo child and I read many books until lunchtime.

Cuddles with newest grandpickle who is squishable.

Being warm with the stove on when it's cold outside.

Playing I went to the shops with Zebra all the way home in the car and he enjoyed it very much.

I made the tiger balm from a recipe passed on by a friend.

A quarter cup of oil (I used sweet almond but you can use olive)
An ounce of beeswax granules. Melt the beeswax into the oil, stir, pour into jar and add essential oils as follower:

    10 drops camphor
    9 drops peppermint
    7 drops eucalyptus
    5 drops cinnamon
    5 drops clove

Leave to set before putting lid on. The commercial tiger balm also contains cajeput oil, which irritates the skin and also has some potential bad side effects, so this recipe leaves it out.
