1) An extra hour in bed.
2) Let brother's dog out again and he was OK.
3) Hens and poorly hen barely distinguishable from the other 2.
4) Did mountains of washing up, washing, hoovered and steamed floors downstairs.
5) Picked bigger son up from work.
6) Roast pork for tea with roast pots, carrots, broccoli, stuffing and gravy.
7) Watched Harry Potter and made Millies cookies.
8) First half term in 17 years when it isn't actually half term for us, as no one is at nursery/school/college.0 -
1 Leftover duck from last night is todays sweet and sour.
2 A bit more tidying, a repetitive pleasure, but glad its getting done. I’ve set myself a goal of clearing off the spare room bed next week, which is a daunting task not sure how I’m going to do it but
3 So nice there’s a let up in the rain, definitely a pleasure, the grass is going to need another cut next week.
4 Starting to see the end in sight with the kitchen, tiling and grouting next,

Good Morning Folks,
Yesterday
1. Tatting about on the IPad. Signed up for loyalty cards.
2. Made sweet chilli Chicken stir fry for lunch, but too much to finish!
3. Finished making 3 more duvet covers from sheets we brought back from our hols in India.
4. Freebie wraps from Mr T via cash back App.......makes shopping more interesting
5. Invited for tea at friends house. Had a tour of new living room floor and bathroom, which is a work in progress. Looks stunning. Lovely food. Lots of baby talk in anticipation of new arrival. So exciting.
6. World on Fire.
Hoping to be more productive today. A list is required!
Have a lovely day0 -
1. Watched more rugby. Cooked a pasta sauce at the same time.
2. Did some gardening. It looks better and felt warm in the sun. Some geese were flying over in formation too. I love watching them.
3. We all went to my parents for a late lunch including DS2 girlfriend. An enjoyable afternoon. Laughing and talking.
4. They gave me a lovely present for the garden. It is a piece of interesting tree trunk with plants planted on it. I don't think my description does it justice.
5. A quiet evening and no cooking necessary.
6. Flowers and foliage from garden still look good.0 -
Love the sound of that tree trunk VL right up my street.
Sunday pleasures,
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
A bright and sunny day, such a change after days of rain, time spent in the garden tidying up.
The hour going back has confused small dog and she kept asking for meals early, oh those pleading spaniel eyes.
Pork and sweet potato casserole for lunch.
Afternoon walk across the fields, spectacular sunset.
The last? Tim and Prue Canal Journeys programme, sweet and gentle so perfect for Sunday evening, such a shame but slightly helped by new series of Escape to the Chateau starting next week.0 -
Vjsmum £5 for bacon buttie pint and darn good game. I like your style pk I have a mental picture of your radio literally singing and dancing round your kitchen bop we too dropped. Love Rik Mayall RIP
Back from Turkey. Yesterday after another good night’s sleep check out, morning of conference while keeping up to date with rugby score, lunch then afternoon of fabulous cultural tour. I had no idea of the history - great afternoon. Then dinner at restaurant for goc kebab (local specialty) yum then stress levels rising as our flight was 8:30. 7 we went back to hotel (!!!!!!?) then dropped people at shopping mall on way to airport. We arrived 7:45 to total chaos.but all was well. Turkish time :rotfl: then needed bus between the 2 Istanbul airports. Told we needed to pay by 30TL each cash so colleague took out 100TL (£14.38) had 45 mins wait so we had a cuppa. Lovely coach, payment by card only lol. Slept on bus then slept on floor of airport in nap zone. Turned away from lounge - new airport only accepts their own vouchers so U.K. bank lounge vouchers no good. Hmmmmm. But nice loos and was able to have a strip wash. Fortunately I had picked up an extra wrap previous lunch (true mse style) and decided to risk it so we had enough TL for a pastry for colleague 2 teas and 2 more teas later. Bought some Turkish delight with euros after of course tasting quite a few. Wales equalised just as we got on the plane but lost as we were waiting for the off :-( watched red Joan (very good) and an Emma Thompson (rather silly), nice meal, in 30 mins early so plenty of time for 2 cups of tea (with own cup £1.90 costa, £2.50 Starbucks guess where I’ll be going in future) bus to Dundee where mum picked me up. Back to hers to pick up dd2 back from guide camp and dogs, watched engerland highlights then 10:25 hours sleep. Have now caught up with archers &. so my five
1) Turkish hospitality
2) the power of imagination (imagining I was camping at Istanbul airport meant I did get some sleep)
3) safe travel
4) catch up tv and radio
5) my bedMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Back from York, Harrogate, Pickering, Whitby and a variety of places in between! Lovely, lovely, lovely...pleasures abound!
1. Came back to lovely clean home. Always worth the manic deep clean before going away.
2. When I came back there were gifts on my desk for my birthday (last Monday) - Kew Garden bath soak and a book on childbirth written by my boss's SIL which looks really good.
3. Nice to catch up with everyone from work
4. Made an effort today with makeup and earrings. I'm 24 weeks now and starting to feel a bit immobile so this is no mean feat. Have had some lovely comments on how I'm looking
5 Going for a curry tonight with two friends from work.0 -
My 5 for the weekend.
1. A great weekend in Edinburgh. Mostly just walking.Nice pub food.
2. Cats were pleased to see me after one night away. Friend calls in to feed them. She is around the corner. I'm very lucky.
3. Bought new boots for work. Picked up some at 70% off. I hate boots but a Scottish Winter demands them!
4. Made Stilton & broccoli soup. Got quite good at this.No one is more suprised than me.
5. Lovely day yesterday. Washing dry and more of the garden put to bed. Had supervision from my ginger cat. He was chasing leaves and hiding.0 -
The first frost of autumn this morning and cold nose and toes.
Coffee out after shopping at Morrisons very nice indeed.
Veg frittata for lunch to use up cooked veg from the fridge was surprisingly tasty, yum!
Visit to DD2 and grandpickles tomorrow so cooking all afternoon to take lunch, pudding and cake with us. Smells fab!
Bird Table re-topped from where it took a tumble in a high wind and birds taking bread from it in it's new position already.0 -
Big frost for us here too Mrs LW I was a very nice mother and scraped my sons windscreen and he said thanks.
Had a lovely second day off.
Up early as had landscape chaps coming at unknown time which has in last been 7am ish! It wasn’t but had a slippy walk with doggy. He enjoyed sniffing in the heavy frost. Was -2o.
I’m all hoovered downstairs (again...hairy dog and crumbs from tea party) and upstairs. Polished downstairs. Two loads washed and hung outside where it got a good blow.
Had the loveliest of chats with DD1 for about an hour then got a fright as landscape chaps were at back doors. So cut her short to speak to them ( need more stuff done for completion certificate) then called her back and chatted for another half hour or so. She’s okay.
Then niece came with baby and we went down the woods for a very lovely walk. Baby was very chatty and so smiley and loved the trees.
She dropped me off at a friends with the giant pumpkin! Had a chatter there and then had a nice walk home.
Brought washing in and put heating on to finish drying.
DD2 home from work. The niecelys popped back up for half an hour.
Had spag bol for tea with the bol part out the freezer. Leftovers from work I think!
Friends husband just away after power tool sawing the bed frame in the garden! Now in a nice tidy pile ready to go to tip at some time this week. Less Steptoe and son looking !
Received a lovely gift today ,was sent a pretty little packet of seeds from someone I follow on Instagram. Was a very kind gesture and I look forward to growing the flowers next year.0
