Pleasures today - feeling virtuous because I went to the gym and did my thirty minutes of exercise.

As ever, seeing dog running around in the park.

Trip to town for spending session (a rare thing for me).

Found the perfect gifts for Dad's birthday and for Christmas for Dad and stepmum.

Lunch out at Patisserie Valerie - croque Monsieur with side salad, piece of strawberry gateau, cappuccino. Cost £13.80, not too bad for a once in a while treat.

Found lovely gifts for daughters of friend who helped me sell OH's car. Silver bracelets with their zodiac signs on as charms. I had intended to spend three times as much, I wanted to get them something gold but the places I went to first did not have anything with birthstones or zodiac signs on, would you believe it! Oh well, the silver bracelets are pretty, they can add further charms if they want to, and the shop gift wrapped them beautifully.

Upstairs sloggus domesticus session, clean linen now on beds so further pleasure to look forward to tonight. Oh, and beef stew festering away in the slow cooker for later.
One life - your life - live it!
  • !) BoPsie is OK, still poorly but OK brilliant.

    2) BOP is also OK and consuming celebratory wobbleades because Bopsie is OK again, brilliant!
    BoP cannot consume enuff wobbleades!

I see Tom Petty has also gone upstairs! Another loss!

nargle I like the term sloggus domesticus!
PP have they found a reason for spots? You must be so relieved:)

We were 0o this morning. A frosted car! Though I was walking to work, I stopped to write frosty on my window and sent a pic to DD1

Work. Not sure what was wrong with me today. Very on edge.

Architect called me , he’s waiting on a letter from planning department at council and will get in touch with the builder. ( probably part of what was wrong with me at work)

Straight home...to work in big jumper , gilet and leather gloves ...home in short sleeved tee shirt , with decent tips in my back pocket!

Come on doggy we are going to the allotment. I just needed to be there. Picked my 2 bigger pumpkins and had to compost the smaller third as it had been damaged by last nights frost. Pulled all the vines and tendrils .

That’s all my edibles picked. Just need to do maintenance work ...still plenty to do.

Picked a posy of flowers. Calendula, cornflower, chive and garlic flowers!
    Home. Pottered.

    Big dog snuggles .

    Chat with sister.

Had pasta with some leftover pasta sauce from work.

Heating on for a wee while but I’m watching the smart meter so I don’t have to worry in winter. Cosy with jumper, blankets and candles on.

1 Our new kitchen worktop was installed very early this morning, it’s lovely artic starburst and sparkly. Have to leave the kitchen alone for 24 hours - hardship.
2 We might have fallen asleep after they left on the sofa, a err morning nap?
3 I’ve discovered salted caramel crumble mince pies, and it possibly doesn’t matter how many exercise classes I go to now.
4 We went a few towns over to CS’s and the green grocers, I snaffled a book, a gorgeous soft scarf, a handpainted tiny jar for grand total of £1.50p, a bowl of banana’s and strawberries for £2 total, dh got his hair cut and I waited in the barbers for him as it was warmer, my good they waffle. I used boots points to buy myself a mascara, and used Holland and Barret points to purchase “good bacteria”.
5 Had our usual at the caf!, dinner out for 6.50 each.

    Enjoyed my day.

    1. DH have me lift to bus. A different bus stop to normal and it amused me listening to conversation of 16/17 year old girls. They know it all at that age.

    2. Work ok. Continued with my week of nothing being straight forward. Only there for half a day.

    3. Walked to station and caught a train. About 3 changes later on a train to Edinburgh caught it by a couple of minutes.

    4. Travelling 1st class and enjoyed food and drink on the train.

    5. Some amazing scenery especially the closer to Scotland I got.

    6. Hotel good especially as work is paying!

    Evening all

    For today:

    1. DS and I went to the doctors about his mental health. The appointment couldn't have gone better and I am hopeful he is on the road to managing and learning to live with his anxiety
    2. Took DS and DD out for lunch
    3. Walked into town to get my bits waxed and eyebrows tinted. Good to have that done and good that I walked there and back, without coughing
    4. coffee with friends
    5. OH came home and cooked dinner (again). We watched Grand Designs...

Wish me luck twice tomorrow. First I am going back into teaching a class for the first time in three years and second, it's the first shot at Glastonbury tickets....
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Wednesday pleasures,

Sunny but bbbrr cold, scarf and gloves on early morning dog walk.

Had a bad, sinus headache so it was good to spend the whole morning outside with beautiful grey one, she had the farrier visit.

Playing fetch with small dog, her return isn’t so good so always best to have two balls!

Making arrangements to meet up with DSIL next week, I’m treating her to afternoon tea for her birthday.

Midweek mini roast with stuffed chicken thighs.

The lovely Cornish scenery in Doc Martin, reminds me of our holiday last year.

    Pleasures for yesterday/today

    1. Showed DD and DH some of the fun things I've found to do during our York/Harrogate trip (museums, afternoon tea at Betty's, steam train to Whitby, pottery workshop) and they are very excited! I'm going to buy some tickets in advance at lunch today so a) we don't have to wake up every day and think 'what shall we do today' and b) I'll have a clearer idea on budget and how much spending money we'll have left!
    2. Lush supper last night. Made chana dal with marrow bhajis, served with chutney and pickle. DH in heaven. This clearing out the fridge/freezer/cupboards lark isn't half bad! poqzzux5ium6.jpeg
    3. DH was panicked about work last night. He has to tell the CEO his team have spent £50 million on a project which won't work. It's not his fault, but he is accountable (if that makes sense?!) so it'll be a tricky conversation. The pleasure is that I reminded him it's just work, not life, that his boss is behind him and realises that the 3 projects he's juggling is 2 too many, and that we have savings - so if he ever wants to tell them where to stick it, he totally can, and I can cover the mortgage and expenses on our cheap little cottage. The absolute joys and freedom of living within our means!
    4. Managed to squeeze in a Lidl shop this morning. Only £34ish and have meal planned up 'til next Saturday. Unfortunately pregnancy brain struck, and I lost my little handbag along the way. Had a big panic as it had my drivers licence, keys - home and car, and debit card. Luckily it had been handed in so the wobbly lip was stilled and I went on my merry way.
    5. Working from home today. Slippers, cats, tea. :)
  • M&M’s That looks like has beens on your plate there as well!

Well I forgets that on Tuesday after visiting BoPsie in the quack centre, I wents and filled me wheels of steal up. Could not believe that we has become a nation of greedy burgers! Some coffee house was has inn an event and you can get a cup, use once, of coffee. They were literally fighting over a free luke warm froth foamed mess! Not because it was free, but had to get a token!

And these are the same people that complain at the strewn mess near the fats food outlet and say I never did throw my cup away, or the one that grabs the free cup inn the emporium and slurps and gurgles their weight around as they are too busy to sit and stop for a minute?

Wells I visited BoPsie again at the quack centre and there another patient who could not keep their food down, was complaining about not being fed! Wents off ands got the fizz pops and dog rolls. Just like in Not the Nine O’Clock News Darts sketch, oh not, its come out again!

Nows there, yous not want BoP harking and barking on all day about proper foods do you?

As for BoPsie, she is still more spotted and not happy inn the quack centre, though good news. The Adam Ant, not as good as reported yesterday about Eddie and the Hot Rods and Barrie Masters, cushion made by BoPsie’s friend, has been put to good use by Raffles! BoPsie has a poor taste inn music! Well Raffles looks good on his new cushion!

Nots mentioned mes Lunch Box this weak, so here goes. Usual strawbs, cucumber, toms and two cheese today, plastic normal cheddar and wood apple smoked as well. Ginger nuts has bin aten as well!
Tea is being drunk with me nuts, ginger nuts!

Well that’s is abouts its from BoP today, bit de up as BoPsie is not yet home!

    Just take what you need!
