Friday pleasures,
Felt rough so bit of a lie-in, my beloved brought me honey & lemon.
Had a hairdressers appointment, oomd and aahd about going but my mop was a mess so off I went. Was worried about spreading the lurgy but lovely hairdresser said so many people come in with colds it boosts his immune system, suspect he was just being nice
Home and a parcel had came, usually get my clobber from the CS or fleabay but have been after a warm dressing gown and nothing had come up so treated myself, brushed cotton plaid and so so cosy, chuffed with it.
Not much energy so pottered for a bit but the dust will still be here tomorrow.
What with me feeling rough and Capt S having a bad week at work we felt a bit cba about tea so fish & chips it was, small dog had a few chips as well.0 -
A turbulent week, HWK has Noro (or something horrible anyway) and has since Tuesday so I am trying everything possible to avoid it myself, if it sits still enough in our house it's been bleached.....good job we don't have pets!
A trip to the city on Thursday to meet both DDs, James and the baby where I made sure not to get too close or make physical contact it was so nice to be all of us together.
Dubious pleasure but I had the flu jab this morning, the pleasure will be if I don't subsequently pick up a strain of flu that doesn't like me.
HWK slightly slowing with his symptoms this morning.
Consolatory croissant eaten in the kitchen with a cup of coffee so as not to make him poorly again from the smell.
Biggest hugest gigantic pleasure.....Keir Llewellyn Elys arrived at 0.34 this morning weighing in at 3.6kg and is perfect and his mumsie is fine too so that's my happy, happy, happy place for today! have seen photos and he's gorgeous! (I admit to bias in the matter..... BUT HE IS!!!)0 -
MrsLW aah Lyn that’s wonderful news to read. Another boy! Lovely! With a fabulous name too. Enjoy him and love him . Hope HWK feels better soon. X0

Hello. All is cosy inside ...blooming chilly outside. Waiting on heavy r ain apparently.
Drove to work ( then had to remember I had car !)
Work was fine. Kept busy. GN’s birthday so boss kindly gave me a gift to give her.
Quick drive home ( much quicker than walking obviously) shower, change into a dress and found all the birthday gifts bought much earlier in the year in the sales!
Birthday afternoon tea. Normally I’d bake. However I didn’t. M&S and Lidl kindly stepped in to help. Nice afternoon. Chatted to DD1 on FaceTime so that was nice.
Friend popped in later so they stayed on and had a good catch up with her.
Need to go and do dishes then it’s an evening with strictly on. Have a nice evening.0 -
Pleasures today - Out with the dog, a misty morning in the distance but she was charging around full of the joys of living.
Porridge for breakfast.
Getting some essential oils I ordered in the post, I have a lovely essential oils storage case, a present years ago from OH, and I love to see my stocks of oils which I use in cleaning, home fragrancing, home remedies, salves, moisturising oils.
Finding out that although my washing machine has a fault, it is still under warranty even though it's four years old. OH must have paid for a five year guarantee, bless him!
Finding the perfect gift for a colleague's leaving present, something which just "spoke to me" in the shop.
Long chat with stepson and his wife on the phone, hearing they are all well and the boys are doing ok at school.
Home made rice pudding this evening, cooked in the

MrsLW - good news once again! Great name - he's got to be a future Labour leader. ;-)
Pleasures for today (Saturday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Advent calendar arrived, for my small niece. It was a MSE recommendation to join Topcashback then get a posh Lego calendar for free!
3) Hens OK.
4) Had to laugh at the tale of brother of Frith. He rarely goes out for an evening and never does anything untoward. So think of my parents who got a phone call at 1am that he had "fallen asleep" in the toilets of a pub and everyone had gone home! Mum had to phone the landlord who had to wake up, get up, and go back to the pub to unlock it. Both parents then had to march him to the car (he was listing slightly).
5) Bigger son wanted to take his father's dog for a walk as it is so neglected. So we picked him up and walked him round the forest. A nice natured dog, considering his owner, but so dirty and with mange (?) on his back.
6) Popped to Sainsburys with smaller son.
7) Bigger son made a hugely complicated, multi-stage curry from the Take Away Secret book, which was very tasty.
8) Watched a bit of Strictly, then Casualty.
Raining again!0 -
For past couple of days.
1. Conference was good and mainly interesting.
2. Saw a small bit of Edinburgh. Must go back again at some point.
3. Watched England play rugby.
4. Went to see Quins play and they won too. Managed to hang on after a good first half.
5. Went for a meal near Victoria station. We hadn't been there in ages and was still good. DS1 came with us to celebrate being the equivalent of employee of the month. He needs the confidence boosting.
6. Watched strictly when we got home0 -
Saturday pleasures,
A lie-in and slow start to the day.
Over at the yard and kept hearing the keening calls of a Buzzard, finally spotted them and sure enough there was 5 of them, very high up, and riding the thermals.
The beautiful grey one, splashing through the big puddle in the lunge pen and looking for all the world like she was about to roll in it, luckily she didn’t.
Again my lovely horse, walking her back out to the paddocks and my energy was running low as still feeling rough with heavy cold, suddenly she just stopped and turned her face close to mine as if to say come on mum, nearly done now.
Mini doze on the sofa.
Capt S found the first series of the Detectorists on catch up and we watched a couple of episodes.0 -
