Pleasures 6 - 100 for Bopsie:j:beer::beer::j
We’ve not had a functioning kitchen now for 5 weeks and it’s safe to say it’s driving us a bit nuts but we are making progress, sink and worktops out. Cleaning everywhere I can see before the new surface is delivered and installed tomorrow, and then touch wood we are very nearly there.
1 We did go to Mr T and snaffled rtcs which took some portioning up for the freezer. We also picked up chicken pieces, again all chopped up and frozen for the fuzzies.
2 Deep cleaned the kitchen bits that we won’t be able to get to again once the top goes on tomorrow.
3 A lovely fresh ham and coleslaw roll for lunch. Dinner was very tastey, rtc katsu pork steaks, wholegrain rice and veg. Very cheaply it worked out at something like 90p each.
4 We sold some bits today and popped the cash in the vet fund, only for the tumble dryer to pack up. One step forward and all that.
5 Tonight we moved in all the white goods from the garage to the kitchen, looking forward to re packing it.0 -

Such good news for Bopsie and Bops :j second the advice to consume a Wobbleade.
Tuesday pleasures,
A helpful & supportive message from a friend.
Out to the emporium, not much in rtc but it was blissfully quiet so had time to browse and pick up a few more bits for store cupboard.
Capt S home for lunch, like VL holiday entitlement had been checked and he has enough holiday left for a 2 week break over the winter festival plus a long w/e away, looking into possibilities.
Rain and thunder came over late afternoon so didn’t go far, one particularly large clap saw the small dog launch herself into my lap, doesn’t usually bother her.
Watched GBBO then Love in the Countryside.0 -
Nows BoPsie is still in hospital again. Not on as she is supposed to be looking after BoP. Drips, rash, you name it, but not cancer! Well yous sees Mum BoP died 34 years back! Good Doctor said at the time not to worry as in my lifetime theres be a cure? Then along came the Good Doctor?
MiL, and her family all had the same! All gone by 42? Where does the grate Doctor come inn?
Well BoP has his bum checked and is fiver yearly. Some get a scoop bag at sixty. BoPsie had one polyp removed that was cancerous! Out with it!
Oh the good Dr. Mr Grace, he called for BoPsie’s great great uncle Arthur. He played cricket for
Engerland on the tour of Australia in the 1880’s. Arthur Shrewsbury! There you wanted to know that.
So ifs yous at rick of the bum cancer, yous can get it checked. BoPsie did and no she not like it. But yous bin waiting for the day to come, not when yous told you have it, but the day yous told yous not!
Yesterday was that day, even though she is back inn the quack centre.
Nows on with the BoPiness Bits.
Sos I sees the BoPsie again inn the quack centre, she is quite bouncy as she is now cured from cancer, again! Well she had one lot inn 2010! Then wents to fills me car up, got a wobbleade from the emporium. Wents home, fed Raffles and had some cheese withs me wobbleade! Then went to do me nice toasted crumpet buttered with the marmite. Oh heck, none inn the refrigerator! Oh bovver! Raffes missed his marmited plate lick off!
Nows as yous are aware that BoP takes note from Educationalists. Wells back at the GCoT in December 1978 wes did one nite in the refectory! Eddie and the Hot Rods. Brilliant and fantastic. Still remember the college on the Monday afterwards where a number of peoples were expelled because of the concert! Lecturer came in and we all had to write to the principal explaining that it was not the done thing! Then he looked around the room at year 1 OND (proper certificate not a piece of paper!) He said that it was fortunate that weres all under the age of 18 and of curse did not attend such event, knowingly looking at those of us who did so!
So this morning it is sad news that Barrie Masters has died. No more ‘Cruising in the Lincoln!’
Ignore Them (Always crashing the same bar!)
You remember them as The Rods
Oh and GCoT Grimsby College of Technology. Proper college then, now an arts centre!
When Yesterday is over, it overtook today!0 -
!) Bosie is OK, still poorly but OK brilliant.
2) BOP is also OK and consuming celebratory wobbleades because Bopsie is OK again, brilliant!
3) A good morning at the shop, lots of work done, lots of chat, lots of laughing and many lovely customers to play with, what's not to like?
4) HWK a bit poorly tummied this A.M. but no worse when I got back at lunchtime and has managed a sandwich.
5) Hopefully seeing both DDs and baby Frieda Rose tomorrow as long as I don't go down with HWKs poorliness.0 -
Lovely to hear that BoPsie is free of cancer. :T
1. Not sure this counts as OS(!) but have just booked the rest of accom for Yorkshire trip - doing 4 nights in v. cheap eco pods a bit south of York and then 2 nights in a fancy pants 5* spa hotel in Harrogate. Went all out and booked a 'deluxe' room. Will be both part of the hols and my birthday treat. Now looking forward to lots of fun planning - walks, museums, restaurants and other fun things!
This will be our only holiday since Ireland in May because I was so sick throughout the summer we cancelled two trips abroad and lost a lot of money. Can't complain though, am just glad I'm feeling better and that I have holidays to look forward to!
2. Last night we (me, my mum, 2 ladies from book group) went to see Downton Abbey. It was lovely. Definitely not a cinematic masterpiece, but just beautiful and a real Downton-fest for those who loved the programme. I think I'll buy it on Amazon when it comes out and watch it around Christmas for years to come.
3. Just had lunchtime book club at work. We had read Britt Marie Was Here. Nice, light read. Now back to The Goldfinch for my other book club, which I'm really enjoying.
4. Beginning of the month so grocery fund, pocket money, etc etc is all full :T
5. Little baby kicking about inside me. Still small enough to be comfortable, but large enough to make me smile.0
