I'm glad you got things sorted out, SuffolkSue.

    Pleasures for today (Monday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens OK.

    3) Went to Sainsburys as had not been shopping since before we went on holiday! Enjoyed a look round, stocked up and had Robert Plant as my fellow shopper (not for the first time - he shops at Sainsburys and lives just up the road).

    4) Went to mum and dad's and picked raspberries. Some for pudding tonight and some for the freezer.

    5) Made lemon chicken for tea with rice and peas. Then raspberries and yoghurt for pudding.

    6) House cleaning continues. Floors hoovered and steam mopped. Stairs cleaned. Paperwork sorted.

    Good morning everyone.

SuffolkSue , you are right about making time just to be. Today I will do just that as one of my pleasures will be an aromatherapy massage. I always feel good after that.

Another pleasure - seeing my friend from work this afternoon for a coffee and natter.

Just reclining in bed at present, lemon and ginger tea consumed. I have been awaking early lately but I am getting nearer to my normal amount of sleep.

Son working from home for the next couple of days so I will shove him in the dining room with his laptop so I can crack on with a bit of general tidying up and decluttering. My daughter has recommended I watch Marie Kondo on Netflix (Tidying Up with Marie Kondo). Apparently Season 1 Episode 4 sees her helping a woman clear out her deceased husband's stuff, so it might be useful.

Breakfast needs to include eggs in some form as I have quite a lot. Scrambled eggs with multi seeded brown bread and butter sounds nice and will be good for me.

Drizzly grey day at present. I get pleasure from the different types of weather we have in the UK, and knowing it's the climate that produces our beautiful trees and flowers.

A snoring ginger cat on the bed, my old faithful. The "young faithful", the dog, is lurking under the bed in case the cat moves so she can herd him. Why did we get a Border Collie?

Clocks chiming. The house is full of clocks. Some work, some don't, some have lovely chimes. OH used to wind them up every Sunday, so I am trying to remember to do the same.

    Have a lovely day everybody.

    Monday pleasures,

A better night’s sleep and woke up refreshed.

The postie brought some essential oils that I had ordered and the witchy supplier had popped in a tumbling stone, so kind and not one instantly recognised so need to get my crystal bible out.

A Jay flew up from the side of the road in front of my car, haven’t seen one for ages, such a beautiful bird.

Gave the equine girlie a bath after exercise, much scrubbing and sponging meant she looked quite good by the end whereas I was filthy!

A feta & red pepper crustless quiche with baked mushrooms for tea.

    1. Busy day at Charity. Took in 2 big savoury slices: bacon+egg for one, other cheese+onion+roasted peppers. Yum. New cooker and & mutually learning. Both results disappeared in CS tearoom.

    2. Amazing big low sickle moon, very Edam, 2 nights ago.

    3. Spookymen's Chorale diary write-up of their German gigs+pics.
Fantastic receptions at all 3, topping each other in succession.

Well, those osps were last night's scribing. & must have fallen asleep and mob. ditto to floor.
    #
    4. Resuming:-)
Knowing CS harmony+takings are up and that L's wise, astute management for this, also via &'s return, is working. Happy mtg with A and & had in car sthg he was looking for, from Spitalfields stock. Did instant donate; A. did same and that was another £10 in till:-). I'd never seen a tiny coffee percolator for 1 tiny cup but A had found one in our kitchen wares. &'s Spits piece was a v. clever bisque studio pottery 'crumpled plastic' coffee beaker, raised mark to base. Perfick :-)

    5. PMs noted bop:-))). And sporting round-up happiness continues, much in way of bop's lunchbox innards reportings.
    Rafa through.
    Konta ditto.
Ignoring all re: djokovic, the unwanted.
Reading ABs' prep. and selection stuff for World Cup in Japan/September. Some from The Alma are going.
What results today? Albion/India Final still more likely, especially as &will be cheering for v.baggies today. When did that ever happen before?
    On verra.

Alas Ms LW over the top pass the Gumstool on the way to the forest! You realise BoP goes speedingly through them lights on the top!
VJs Buttered yes, minted, yes. Proper foods and good for you!

    Nargle Banjos. because they strum!
Anyone else up to challenging BoP ateing habits?

    Nows on with today’s BoPiBits

Was inn the gym last evening trimming ready for the beach again. Rite good session.

Then home to feed Raffles, who is being a bit stroppy this weak as it is his flea time for treatment. He is having none of it and absconded this morning again! We pay his vets bills

Watched the arts bit, not available on the BBC, about Leslie Howard last nite. Good. He was RJ in the film during the war, but yous probably remember his as Scarlet’s interest in that Gone with the wind!

We has the Kojak one to watch next!

Had pork pie, cheese and tom for supper, with Ms VJs, hot toasted crumpet with butter and marmite. Proper foods. Cocoa was drunk as well. Proper Bourneville cocoa, not those sugared up foam varieties. Avoid.

This morning to sharpen things up, BoP got from the emporium on SunDae, some fresh lemons, as the satsumas weres too on date, and freshened up with some squeezed juice and lemonade. Yous not gets that inn the emporium. I notes these days that some emporiums offs yous the squeezed things with extra pulp. Not that BoP has bin doing this for years! Please avoid stupid items like this in the emporium! BoPsie did wince on her fresh lemon drink!

Eventually built me quick fix model flyer at work! Took about ten seconds. That will keep mes inn trim as well. On about Kites, Ms LW on her ways to the forest would had bin close the the kite shed at the JAM. BoP’s next appearance is on 21st July, next to the Hawker Hunter cockpit. Worth a visit as wes don’t charge and we has cake and tea as well! Proper cake and it is good for you! Other none worthy attractions are also available. Oh the cake, proper and it has Jam on it! Oh the flyer I built. Came from the guys at SSAFA! A proper charity and not some tax avoidance scam?

Now on with other BoP bits!

Raffles seems to not want to has his flea treatment. I has not upset him, but he has made it clear that he does not want fooding as well! Ne’er mind, he will be back when he his hungry! Oh blow!

Wells that’s is all for the BoPiBits today!
Keep on the Duck! It don’t track you!

Now it was one year ago that BoP was on Horse Guards! Thinks lion on rampart!
    Mens Agitat Molem

PM2& Fon thing at the mill. Can see the kiwis. Come on!

1 We’ve come away for a few days for Mr PK to rest, it’s beautiful in the Welshlands, we are caravanning to keep costs down, but the journey here we still a little erm hectic, the car and van aren't quite set up right as a unit just yet.

2 So many birds on the feeder here and one that apparently doesn’t exist.
3 We picked up lunch and dinner from the local mr T RTC’s, and everyone chattered.
4 Sitting watching the sunset and tides go out last night.
5 Popped on the web to apply for some roles and tell his mum I’ve taken him off for a few days. And write on here.

I am actually writing, for fun, just a lot of ideas at the moment being caught down. Always insipired when we are properly resting.

I'd started writing pleasures yesterday but got waylaid and here we are at Tuesday teatime.

Monday included: a very short shift at work. Hurrah!

Getting the mirror I missed out on when I picked up lamps on Sunday. Yeh other person never turned up so I was next in line! Picked it up. Hurrah!

Doggy time at allotment. Hurrah! Picked some Beetroot and some rhubarb and some herbs with wild flowers. Popped into work with rhubarb and Beetroot and gave to colleague .

Home and started moving furniture around. Too much stuff with new stuff coming in so shall have a declutter.

    For today.

Worked 8.30-4.30 pm . It felt like the longest day. Its my full day in kitchen.

Friend kindly walked Haggis for me as girls went out first thing on a jaunt.

A packet of chocolate buttons when I came home.

Having lasagne for tea and brought home from work baked potatoes.

It's rained non stop all day which is excellent for the allotment. ( but not so much the dog walking!)
  • BOP HWK's dear old dad was in a SSAFA sheltered housing flat for the last 10 years of his life, warden there was brilliant and it kept him independent until he was hospitalised after a fall in the last couple of months of his life. It's a really good charity and what they do for retired forces personnel is perfect, long may they prosper.

A quiet day as HWK took the car for its MOT and was out all day so I could do all the things that needed doing without interruption.

Bedding changed, washed, dried and back in the airing cupboard and beds made up with new.

All washing done, dried and ironed and now put away.

Made a big pan of celery cheese soup to last the rest of the week for lunches and used 'bendy veg' from the bottom of the fridge.

House cleaned, dusted, tidied from top to toes.

Garden watered and looking really healthy and verdant and the fuchsias I got in the sale look much happier for a really good watering every evening, I hope they're going to thrive.
