I think the basil did the trick, I have just woken again after an hour or so more sleep and feel more bright eyed and bushy tailed. Talking of bushy tails, my dog has just jumped up and given me a good licking up and down my arm. I don't let her lick my face, I have seen where her tongue goes sometimes.
After breakfast will come the task of going around the house tidying and preparing for family visitors due this afternoon. I get a lot of pleasure from preparing for visitors, making sure beds are comfortable, getting the best china and cutlery out, planning meals, making cakes etc.
Listening to radio 2, currently playing David Bowie's Space Oddity (ground control to Major Tom). Some songs never fade away, they are still good after decades. Just heard - the song is 50 years old today, never!
A short walk with the dog is on the list, fresh air and the scent of rain on leaves and grass. All those positive ion thingies dispelled by the rain, making our heads clearer. One life - your life - live it!0 -
on & early start but all sounds wonderful, have glad times my friend.
Wednesday pleasures,
Fixing new string supports for Montana Clematis and thinking of my darling Mum who gave it to me as present.
Groundwork with beautiful grey one, first time asking her for haunches in exercise, she quickly cottoned on to the fact that if stepped certain way she got treat out of Mum’s pocket, clever pony.
Hot and humid so pleasure of cool shower when I got home.
Keeping iced tea in the fridge, with plenty of lemon slices in, delicious.
Talking of which melon with mint choc chip ice-cream for dessert, well it is summer!0 -

Now on withs the proper match, not that second best one that went on toooo long!
Picking up rebuilt and rehearted ‘putah later on. Well remade up and it is ten years old and still does the works!
The good things abouts BoP telecommunication toy is I can see the cricket …
As yous ares aware that BoP does all things in goodness, Raffles, who earlier this weak was in such a strop because he was due his flea treatment, has forgiven BoP. He is back on his food and is mostly home. Inn three months when he is due again, it will be same old same old. BoPsie has taken it well.
Oh the cricket, Doesn’t look good for the kiwis now!
That’s all the BoP today.
Don’t lend a shovel to the one in the hole, but offer your hand instead.0 -

A good double shift at the shop yesterday, some really lovely people came in and it was so nice being there.
A good nights sleep last night, stayed at DD1s as it's the last day of term at the school she teaches at and I'd arranged to babysit one of her colleagues tiny daughter.
Little Flora who is quite the sunniest and most contented child I've ever come across, a total pleasure to be with her and I'm hoping to repeat the sitting many times, she is such a sweetie.
Perfectly ripe avocados at my lovely Greengrocer at 2 for £1.....I got 4!
Back home now and had a sit down and caught up with myself, had a couple of cups of tea and am feeling less sleepy, I almost dozed off on the bus on the way here.....not good!0 -
nargleblastmy thoughts are with you and your family.
Well after a very rainy started today has actually brightened in to a half decent day. Loads of washing out!
Work. 9-11.50am as I had to dash off for a dental appointment made back in the days when I wasn't working! Next one made for a more appropriate time! Work was busy. Day 35 in a row!
Dentist ...'are you brushing your teeth twice a day?' Asked in a manner he might ask a 7 year old. Yes! Said the indignant 50 year old! ( asked before I'd even bared my teeth!
As I had paid for a parking ticket I nipped into town. A couple of tops from charity shop.
Popped up to Morrisons . Met an old work colleague and had a chat with her. A few RTC items. And a beautiful jasmine that I've still to plant out.
Home...just as cleaning ladies had arrived . Felt a bit awkward ( I'll get over it!) and DD1 and I went to visit a friend instead! Nice doggy cuddles there.
Started a book DD1 had sent me from Melbourne. She'd arrived way before it did.
Old neighbour and his dad popped up for the tables. Quick catch up with them.
niece and GN are popping in soon. So have a few things for them to take away.

1. Quick chat with a neighbour as I was leaving for work and then see another neighbour at work and so another quick chat.
2. Worked with a colleague I like today. Her husband had some good news from GP which is good.
She texted me when she got home that she managed to get a cancellation at her chiropractor..
3. Spent some time in the garden and planted our some plants that I had grown on.
4. Peaceful half hour when I arrived home from work with no interruptions and a coffee whilst reading my book.
