Nargle did you watch episode 4 of Kon Marie? That's actually where I stopped. I thought it was going to be too emotional. When my Mam died not only did I have to empty all of her belongings from our family home, I had to deal with all of my Dad's as well. Untouched for 27 years. :(

Your daughter knows you very well but having seen the intro I can't face it yet and I don't even have the same sort of emotions tied to it. Did you watch it?

My 5p's are not very forthcoming. I'm just not doing much. I'll try:

    1) appreciate that I have a love for nature and natural healing. That can give me some control when virus strikes.

    2) truly appreciate that I learned how to knit. When I am idle, resting, I can still feel useful. Today making a start on children's winter hats.

    3) truly appreciate being a housewife and can just stop and rest when I need to and I know I am very lucky to be able to do that.

    4) having a 14 year old who can do the school pick up of the 10 year old.

    5) having a bus pass to enable me to access local services, namely pharmacy/GP on days when I'm not fully fit without worry or detriment.

Hello. From the land of much wet!

    Did work. Day 34!

Was only 9-11.53am as I had to dash for an appointment

For a therapeutic back massage. Which feels much better than it did last week.

We had Indian curry for tea.

Tidied up ( have engaged the services of a cleaner who starts tomorrow )

Our very first neighbour is coming tomorrow to pick up a walnut coffee table I'd offered for free. Just don't have the room. Glad it's going. Have just offered niece 2 lamps so hoping she wants them and they can also go tomorrow!

Haggis Boy. At my side constantly today. Apart from when I hoovered as he doesn't like the Hoover! Just him and I this evening as everyone else was out and about.

    Pleasures for today (Wednesday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Tidied up and cleaned the bathroom.

    3) Watered the allotment, picked the blackcurrants and talked to the hens.

    4) Went into town and looked round the charity shops. Got a White Stuff corduroy dress that will be good for the autumn. Stopped on the way to town to pick up the chimney connector. Buying bits to connect up the new (Ebay) stove, as and when I can afford them.

    5) Went to Waitrose to use up a voucher so bought birthday cards for the months ahead. Every single person in my family (except small niece) has their birthday in the last 5 months of the year!

    6) Had a cup of tea with my school friend.

    7) Went to watch the football with smaller son and we beat Aston Villa 3-1 (!) One poor man was ambulanced away so waiting to hear how he is.

    8) Just caught up with Holby City.

Fuddle, I have not seen the Marie Kondo thing yet, I am waiting for a time when my son is out of the house so I can watch it in peace. Something for next week I think.

Awake at stupid o clock again, I will probably sail through today and tomorrow on adrenaline then crash out tomorrow night. I hope so, anyway.

Pleasures - cool, rainy morning, a bit of calm to start the day.

Lemon and ginger tea, this time with a few fresh basil leaves chucked in, in the hope that it will relax me enough to have another little doze before getting up time.

    1. Back pain has improved slightly. Managed to sleep better than I have been.

    2. Had to smile when read email at work. Someone who had accepted a job in Friday has decided not to take the job. It now needs to be advertised again. Out of a department of 19 in the past 9 months 6 people have left (not including the one that didn't start) and 2 are on maternity leave. Managed doesn't seem overly concerned about it all.

    3. A friend thanked me on Facebook for something work related i did ages again. Pleased that I had made a difference.

    4. A couple of text conversations with friends.

    5. DS1 went to gym after work. He has been late home this week so hadn't gone this week. He is more talkative when he has been.

About to look up Magasins B!n!voles/Lille....:-)

    1. .... because, bop, sorting out India as I fuelled up, much to my own surprise, meant I made it in mood of ultra happies to BuryStE, just in time for Spookymen's Chorale gig.

    2. Car was emptied, refilled with a few flung things, thermoses, books, marmalade pour la famille Saison.

    3. Phantastic concert, again, and more new songs:-))). Greeted by Spookymen these days. Comforted them, saying 'No more till London now'.
Everyone's LOVING Spookies' bluegrass way with Bohemian Rhapsody. Yesssss!

    4. En route to 1, dropped a few rtc's to old uni friend. 'Time for cuppa?' asked she. 'Not really, but Yes' and out we sat, chatting, just watching+listening: blackbird babies and parents, ditto robins, also soft tinkling of little solar water fountain tumbling over small mossy rockery. Scent of her tall old-fashioned roses, ancient weeping pear, fig parent of &'s, bergamot clumps gone mad. Just old garden+old friend peace. And still the crimson abutilon, blooming blooming blooming. But both of us have had rhubarb failure this year.

    5. .... completing intro. Well, that's from here, where? Ici, Dunkerque dawn, 'cos &, duly charging to Dover after Spookymen's concert - and having a few of those scary eyes shut moments en route, reached Port. Presented NZ passport to v.likeable young dfds man....
Oh, hold on. Isn't that today? Now? The 12th?
Umm, no. One of &'s best yet.
Have arrived a day early😝😲😊😁...and lovely young dfds man sorts it. Not only that, do I want to board this 2am one right now?instead of 4am tmrw?
Really? Yes, please! Aren't you lovely! Yes, you are:-)

So, an extra day Francophile is &'s and down here on the old helipad, & has perfect reception for TMS start, 0930h. Tide is coming in. Gulls galore wheeling, calling, little boats going out and in, bigger ones later, working the incoming tide, sturdily shepherded by the fleet of tugs with names I love: Adroit, Superbe, Vaillant, Serval and more. Lighthouse on the long mole to walk, just over there, and that 'over there' is the vast hopeless endless beach, concrete redoubts and tank ramps still prominent in the dunes, where easy target men were slaughtered in their thousands....
I always come here, then always along to Bray-Dunes, always to the monument, the words, always the bridge to be walked, always the Bunker Museum...
Some current sub-animates power-crawlers could do with a bit of this, and bop's lot....

Aha, binocs needed! Tide must be full, 'cos there goes.....oui, c'est Tempête, off out to turn something big through the breakwater and into the bottleneck channel to STOP for the harbour master. Good chaps may pass, both ways.
