    Pleasures yesterday....

Dog running in the park, chasing sticks. She is so easily entertained.

Priest called to sort out funeral service. Nice man, who thoroughly understood that there will be a wide range of personal belief systems at the funeral so there will be a religious element but not "in yer face." It was lovely talking with him.

Hearing that a gang of ten of OH's former workmates will be travelling up close on 200 miles to pay their respects.

Making a chocolate cake and some rice pudding to use up some of the surfeit of eggs and milk I seem to have.

Daughter gone back now but son returned from weekend away, determined he will never drink again. Yeah, right.....

Pleasures today? Some gentle tidying up and decluttering, seeing as though it seems I will have a houseful on Friday.
Appointment at bank this afternoon to sort out financial affairs (what I call "admin crap." ) Not a pleasure in itself, but at least I can tick it off my list. I do love a good list, how sad is that? Shopping afterwards for smart black shoes. Hate shoe shopping but this is different, can't wear trainers with me posh black frock.
Sausages and mash tonight, need to get back to proper eating.

    1. Sunny most of the day. Warm even when cloudy.

    2. Most of the day spent outside. I did my exercises for my back out there.

    3. Helped DH cut down a hedge so we can put up a fence. There is much more light coming into the house though. Neighbours can see right into our new bit of garden so may have to think what we can do to shield their view of us.

    4. DS2 cooked lasagne for tea followed by rhubarb crumble. We are outside.

    5. DS1 went to collect a couple of things which DH had ordered.

    6. Had a bonfire.

Good to read that you are making a little time for you Broomstick

    Sunday pleasures,

Another rough nights sleep so up at 5am, feeding birds in my pjs at 10 past!

A quiet ‘us’ day at home, what we call a Larkin kind of Sunday.

Work done in the garden, tidying, pruning and picking.

Roast dinner, with wine, followed by strawberries and ice-cream.

Watched a bit of the round ball game but got a tad bored when it become apparent who was going to win so went to sit in the garden and read. Instead I spent most of the time watching the swallows circling the house and catching their tea on the wing.

Late supper of bread & cheese whilst watching Gentleman Jack, have thoroughly enjoyed.

  • Just back from a stroll round Westonbirt Arboretum, glorious place and a glorious day, not too hot and not too cool, light cloud cover and sunny periods so like Goldilocks porridge.....Just Right!

Wild flower meadows with so many different types of grass, flowers and butterflys zipping about amongst them, just perfect.

Many absolutely fabulous dogs to say hello to, all shapes, sizes and degrees of hariness and slobberiness but each and every one of them just lovely.

The countryside and especially the farmland we drove through with field after field of cereal crops in varying states of ripeness and it looks like a bountiful harvest in the making.

The smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich that I had for my lunch with a side salad, deliciousness on a plate.....the coffee and walnut cake I had for pudding was pretty darned good too!

    1. Cleaned the bathrooms to keep the others above the dysentery line

    3. train to ICT was OK
    4. Made Jack Monroe's chickpea and peach curry for my tea. I shall have it again tomorrow, leftovers. Saves making a decision

    Good evening all.

BoP - a bacon and egg banjo? That was a term my OH used to use, must be a Forces thing.

Pleasures today - getting one or two things ticked off my list. I used to get teased about making lists, but I tell you, that's the way to get things done.

Quick visit to chemotherapy day unit - both OH and I bought new tyres for our cars a couple of months ago, and we each got a free dash cam as there was a special promotion on. I have passed the dash cams to the unit for them to raffle off. They are raising funds to build a new unit. The staff all said how shocked they were, and how OH used to make them laugh.

A lovely pot of tea and toasted tea cake in the market hall cafe, very reasonably priced.

I hate clothes or shoe shopping, but I found the perfect low heeled black court shoes in the Hotter clearance sale, took literally 5 minutes,

Giving a friend my recently-purchased lump of rose quartz to pass on to her daughter, who is being targeted by school bullies. It's a gentle, calming and healing stone. (She could also chuck it at them if she wanted to, but it would be a waste of a beautiful crystal.)

An evening with my son, watching a comedy vampire film recommended by my daughter. She's weird like that.

Tomorrow I will have a massage, then later a visit from a friend.

You are doing wonderfully nargle but do give yourself time just to be .x

    Assorted pleasures
1 DH walked with his walker from his chair to the door ( about 15 feet) furthest he's walked for a week .
I followed closely with the wheelchair so
    2 no falls!

3 ,4 ,5 our lovely son came yesterday and with gentle humour and tears ,we got an outline of DH end of life wishes .
Much laughter at DS interpretation of some of the questions' Whale Music'!!
He refuses to plan his funeral no matter ,says it doesn't bother him ,he won't be there ,DS pointed out he would be the star!
Sounds awful that I'm calling them pleasures, but once it's done we can forget about it and get on with whatever time is left .
We had so many plans ,probably like Nargle ,
To anyone thinking should they do something,Just do it ,don't plan just do .
