Glad you had good holibobs, DD
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Not walking up snowdon
2. Editing of my chapter went well.. feels like i'm on the right path
3. nice food - banana sourdough pancakes for lunch and OH cooked a chicken for tea. There's leftovers for my tea tomorrow when I am here alone. My favourite food is leftovers
4. Messages with my sister. She's nearly finished her nursing training. So proud of her.
5. DS and OH had a lovely day on Snowdon and in Snowdonia
Off to the Machynlleth comedy festival in a bit. Love's a festival I does...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
was a cold and frosty start here today . Its international naked gardening day apparently but I didn't take it up on its offer!
Down at allotment bright and early. Just me and the birds for 2 hours . Thought there might have been others but just me which I rather like. Cleared one of the community areas of moss and weeds and remulched it. Looks better. Planted some seeds in some tubs too. Wild flower mix.
Made rolls and slice sausage when I got home.
Did a bit of weeding and dead heading in my garden. Planted the 4 RTC lavenders I bought yesterday. Picked the prettiest pink tulip from a tub. On its lonesome.
Washings out and back in. Back garden filled with little black bugs. All over my washing, the Windows, the patio. Yikes! Never seen it before here though have in Australia.
Sister called me.
Going to a birthday party tonight! A disco for 12 year olds! Woohoo!
A friend who has been through such personal tragedy but hoping to make a difference to others suggested we should all find 10 positive things each day...told her I've been doing that for a while!( maybe not 10 but at least 5)

Mhagster Aldi have square sausage next week ,is that what you have in Scotland?
1 no falls
2 The attendance Allowance has been approved ( I assume it has ,no conformation letter ,but 7 weeks worth has appeared in the bank !)
3 It will pay slightly more than half the cost of ramp which is being installed to the front door next week !
4 Bought another set of single duvet ,mattress protector etc ,OH is having really bad night sweats to the extent that the last 3 nights ,I have had to change the entire bed between 2am and 4 am .This means not trying to wash and dry all in a day .Big hospital were interested in this .
5 Son coming tomorrow .
If we applied to council for ramp it would take 6-12 months for approval ,and would be means tested ( classed as building work ) so would pay most .We need it now ,may be too late then ,we live in a bungalow ,but two steps to front door although shallow may as well be Everest for DH.
Parkinson's nurse has done wheelchair request ,looking like will be needed sooner rather than later
Oh dear0 -
suffolksue yes looks like our lorne sausage
1) woke up early so watched all 5 (!) episodes of series 5 of line of duty. I have my own theory as to the identity of H
2) mum brought round some cheese left over from last week's holibags
3) took the dogs for a long walk (sunny but a cold wind) and we met a lovely but loopy spaniel who was very good at dribbling a football
4) which brings us to the highlight of the day bop not only up but we are the champions my friend :j:j:j
5) mrpiano was playing at a friend's concert raising funds for Medical Aid for Palestinians and now we're having pizzaMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
25 for 25: 127 / 625
declutter: 173 / 2025
frogs eaten: 60 -
DD will have to get some to try ,been intrigued reading about them here.
Don't suppose they're syn free on Slimming World !0 -
SuffolkSue - hope you get movement quickly on the ramp. A friend of mine needed a wheelchair for her child and has been borrowing (or hiring?) one from the Red Cross as it would have been such a long wait otherwise.
Pleasures for today (Saturday).
1) Not having a massive shift at work and almost getting a lie in!
2) Dropped bigger son off at work and walked the red route through the forest. Had several cups of tea in the caf!.
3) Hens grumpy as they don't like the wormer impregnated food much. They can go back to normal food from Monday. One egg today.
4) All seedlings growing nicely - even 2 melon plants! Also tomatoes (2 types), chillies, pumpkins, courgettes and sunflowers. And sweetcorn.
5) Catching up on Line of Duty. I've worked through series 1 into series 2 this week.
6) Got house tidier after 2 days at work.
7) Watched Casualty.
8) Thought I had defrosted a bag of cherries and made the batter for a clafoutis. Turns out they were damsons so I cooked them with a strange sort of batter layer on top! Quite nice though. :-D
9) And smaller son did the tiniest bit of revision - it's a start. So much school missed and complete lack of engagement that I think we will concentrate on maths, English and English literature. I think we might wave goodbye to science and strangely, for one who needs to use a laptop for exams, he seems to manage history and RE OK. One of the history papers is a question about a nearby historic house so I think a couple more trips there will be coming up (we've already been once).0 -
For a couple of days.
1. Have a new front and back door. We needed new ones and they look good. We should have less draughts.
2. Met a friend for coffee. Exchanged birthday presents.
3. Went to rugby. A win which was good.. May finish in top 4 but will depend on last match of season..
4. Didn't get wet on Friday or Saturday despite being in and out and regular rain, some very heavy, and hail storms.
5. Bought a small present for DS1 birthday next week.
6. Went to see a violin performance of Vivaldi four seasons. I really enjoyed it. In a great setting of a church.
7. Are out in a sushi place at a reasonable cost and healthy.
8. D'S went out with friends - so did DS2 but then he regularly does.
9. Painted a wall. DH had put sample colours up about a month sho. I didn't like any of them and couldn't come with patchwork effect anymore.
10. A pair of socks - bamboo ones arrived in the post. A free pair what's not to like.0 -
Saturday pleasures,
A lie-in, much needed as a rough night of non sleep.
A day of socialising, first out to breakfast with the hollow legged ones, a good catch up and we were lucky to get a table as horsey town was very busy on a race day.
A funny kind of a day weather wise, black clouds one minute, brilliant sunshine the other, made for some stunning skies.
Took small dog for late afternoon walk and the high winds had brought some large branches down one of which she attempted to drag home.
Out for another meal, this time with SIL, her partner and DN, drinks were eye-wateringly expensive but food reasonably priced and tasty, good to catch up.0 -
The ramp is being built next Wed (quick when you 'go private !)
Not sure about wheelchair ,I asked what the system was for sourcing one ans she did it online whilst I was talking to her .
Bed changing at 4 am ,up at 6 .i am not a morning person !
DH has had breakfast and sound asleep in his recliner ,I'm about to hang washing out ,shower ,star dinner prep and clean kitchen !0
