    A good day.

    1. Met a friend for coffee and had a catch up. Time just flew by. Then had to rush.

    2. Went to collect a work colleague and we went to the church for another colleague wedding. It was a lovely ceremony.

    3. Bride looked gorgeous. Her dress was stunning. She looked very different to her normal work attire.
Flowers in the church were lovely and were South African.

    4. Spent time in the garden. I tidied around the greenhouse and it looks so much better.

    5. Went out for a late meal with DH. Both sons were out at parties.

    Saturday pleasures,

My beloved’s Birthday so cards and presents with breakfast.

We had all the nicer weather the day before, very windy and so cold we clicked the heating on.

A trip out to a local Antiquey type barn, we are on the look out for a couple of pictures for the house but obviously don’t want to spend much, nothing caught our eye but enjoyed having a good look. I was particularly struck by a very old leather saddle.

Capt S enjoyed his birthday cake.

Smashing meal out in the evening, I regretted booking this particular pub as it’s a drive out and the weather was foul but the food made up for it and the weather had improved slightly by the time I drove home.
  • Coffee at the garden centre this morning followed by a country drive where the verges were ablaze with wild flowers and the white Queen Annes Lace was out in profusion, it was lovely.

Cider apple orchards in full pink froth of blossom.

The scent of wallflowers as I went for a village walk this afternoon.

A lovely very old cruck build barn we passed on our morning drive, all red thin bricks and oak frame, looking as though it had been there forever.

A sweet and very friendly little cat I met on the footpath beside the church, we got on very well and had lots of stroking and purring and nose rubs on my hand it was the high spot of the day, such a poppet.

1 I laid in a lot longer than I meant to.
2 I popped out to Lidl for their offer, and I was very quick as the place was packed to the rafters with people, I picked up milk, bread, salad, cheese, mince and I was done in 15mins. Home and grated up all the cheese for the freezer and portioned up all of the mince for a snack for the ferrets.
3 Planted up a couple of hanging baskets.
4 Batch cooked mince, grating and using up any veg left. It made more than I was expecting, and a lot of washing up.
    5 Leftover celebrations…

    Enjoyable day.

    1. The blossom on my fruit trees. They look beautiful at the moment especially the crabapple.

    2. Started clearing the ash from the bonfire area. A long job and all wood that hadn't burnt out to one side. In the evening I then had a bonfire to burn it all. The bonfire was only out in its present position temporarily 5 years ago.

    3. Went to local garden centre and had our free coffee. We did buy some meat there. The butchers there is very good and had some meat in special offer. Thankful the freezer wasn't too full.

    4. Helped DH with the compost heap. He repaired it. I put the compost onto the garden.

    5. A glass of wine in the garden with DH.

    Sunday pleasures,

A lie-in followed by a leisurely breakfast and an Ambridge catch-up, oh dear Tom :(

Did my weekly meal plan and managed the whole lot with what I have stashed in the freezer and needs using up.

The weather improved and was sunny by early evening, the high winds didn’t do too much damage in the garden but we have no apple blossom left on the tree.

Went to see the beautiful grey one, she was filthy dirty after rolling in the mud and poppy with too much spring grass, leading her in from the paddock was akin to having Tigger on the end of a rope!

We started watching There she goes with David Tennant and Jessica Hynes, laugh out loud funny and so sad at the same time.
