Good morning. Beautiful sunrise just after 5am...ask me how I know? My son was a bit noisy going out!

Went to the allotment . Took me blooming ages to get there as I kept meeting people on the way down. 3 lots of at least 10-15 minutes conversations! Nice to see them and to chat but really...this is my gardening time!

Sat and ate my banana and apple whilst listening to the birds and watching the bees and butterflies do their stuff! Watered all my seeds and admired my peas peeking through. Planted a bit of mint in a tub. See if it takes but I know it spreads everywhere. Put some more soil in bed 3. Will do more again today. Little and often.

Had intended to do more in afternoon but ended up snoozing! I'd had a bad nights sleep ( as in they're never particularly good anyway to start with but it was rubbish!)

Had lasagne with little roasted potatoes and parsnips, some yummy cabbage and cauliflower and carrots.

May have had a piece of RTC Easter egg for pud.

    My lovely dog.

Boyo came home for an overnight stay then is away again.

    Have a lovely day :)

    1. Flight home went very smoothly.

    2. Home and house not too untidy.

    3. Did some washing and it dried on the line.

    4. Spent time in the garden. Boys had watered it. I watered it more.

    5. Cooked spaghetti Bolognese and some in freezer for another day.

    Keep that beat going Jenny.
Feel your pain on the bad sleeping Mhags

    Tuesday pleasures,

    A busy but productive day.

Heavy woollen blanket taken off bed, washed and dried on line.

We have some blue t*ts nesting in the crevice between window and wall in our spare bedroom, kept seeing a flash of wing when I walked in there and stood quietly yesterday to see both birds come to the nest, aww.

Just as I think about replacing winter pansies in my baskets they have a second burst of life and look better than ever.

Much fuss made of small dog by a visitor to the house, they have golden retrievers so have good taste in dogs.

Snorkers for tea, pork and sage, all different sizes as from farm shop and not mass produced.
  • Sunday to Tuesday pleasures

Proper summer days Sun. & Mon.

Buffet lunch outside on Sunday - good food, good company & plenty of beer for me  but soft drinks for DH as driving :p

My hm focaccia was consumed with gusto & the hm grown & pickled olives went down really well :D Only took about SIX months to get the taste correct :p

Orders have been placed by 2 other family members :T

An almost one year old was the centre of attention - rightly so as a very happy little boy

Bonus pleasure is that he didn’t cry when I got to hold him :rotfl:

Arrived home to cake baked by DSis :T

Monday was a pottering & relaxing day

2 loads of washing line dried :j

Have 2 starlings as regular visitors in the back garden

However this means that Mr & Mrs blackbird have decamped to the front garden :(

Lots of daisies & our clematis is in full bloom

Fox still turning up nightly but later - about 10 p.m.

    Steak & chips for dinner

Tuesday was overcast but did manage to wash & mostly line dry our bedding - did have to finish off in td

Productive day - shed sorted (with the help of a bumble bee;)), new plants potted, hedges trimmed, bottomless pit drawer in kitchen emptied, cleaned & tidied - couple of items for CS

DH has done his good deed of the year - some random chap turned up & asked if DH could help him change the battery in his Beetle (saw the large motorbike on the drive & thought DH would have tools ;) DH & DSis both ended up helping him - so both feeling virtuous & he was happy :) No names exchanged :rotfl:

No cooking - dinner from the chicken place :o

Wednesday - all 3 of us up & about by 9.00 a.m. - unheard of :rotfl:

Overcast but warm enough (just) to sit out & watch the pigeons failing to get at the seed in the new bird feeder, the starlings being given a wide berth by the pigeons, squirrels chasing each other.

Water still leaking from overflow from loft tank & tap too tight to undo :( but phoned plumber yesterday & he is turning up today :T

    Reading all your pleasures

  • Did gets a breathe of air inns me ear last night. Could not think why and !!

PM2DD Oooops, not paying attention, too focussed on the Scooonts in automatic relegation! Mind yous, Big Sis, who can strip nails in seconds because of her brovver, would be inn the same league! Mind you was good listening to them on the interwebbing radio! All to play for! They be a welcome at the Theatre of Fish for the rusts!

Nows on to the life in your version of BoP!

Because I watched a film last eve, on the flix of net. Wes inn dining room at the moment, raffles is very confused! Wobbleade was consumed. Churchill. Now I wander how many pontificate about it, but really, was this about depression in a man?

Offs back to mill this morning and set off with proper foods again! Scrambled eggs. Good for you and sets you up for the day. Usual lunch box!

Just chequing mes and BoPsie’s pensions and they are about to go into another barrier this month. Please be aware that scammers would love to let you take your pot and them take a cut. Think of BoP if this occurs and tell them in language from the terrace. If you want to know what language, DD could assist!

Tea is being drunk inn the boiler room with proper digestives. BoP does not dunk! That breaks up the biscuit and makes it soggy! It is understood that BoPsie does dunk!

Read in me rag this morning about boats. Now I would like to come out. Mes is …

This ship is not done yet!
  • Just heard from the builder who is coming to remove 18 tiny light units from our lounge ceiling (looks like an airport runway when they're on) and fill holes and make good and paint on Monday!

Found lovely set of childrens books in a CS in town yesterday and a lovely cotton baby dress in CS in the village this morning.

It's raining.....but not until after I'd been and got the bits I wanted from the chop.

Bumped into a neighbour who has offered me all the crab apples on her tree for jelly making in the autumn, for free!

DD1 had her 20 week baby scan and all is well, and all is well.....

Hello. I'm watching the dawn service in Australia for Anzac Day. It makes me very emotional and missing my Melbourne life. But grateful for those who've went before us and those who still serve for their country and keep us all safe.

Today was spent mostly at home. In a tidy mode! List written and all ticked off apart from put Easter stuff away . It needs to go in garage and son has too much stuff in the way.

    It's nice to be tidy.

An odd day. Bit warm/ bit cold. Very windy. Bit sunny/ bit cloudy. Now just cloudy and cool and windy!

Made pasta for lunch. Chucked in whatever was kicking about the fridge and very yummy too.

Walked to T to get desiccated coconut (£2!!! Seriously?) for Anzac biscuits tomorrow. Went via my mothers and via the charity bin with a bag of clothes. Met my old boss/ friend at till so we sat and had a chat on the chairs at end of tills!

My new boots came! Love 'em!

Put an offer of free bricks on FB. Taken away 10 minutes later! That was quick work! And another pile off the driveway.

In bed and nice clean bedding. It's white so no Haggis you can't come near me!

This will make painful reading. There were pleasures for yesterday (Tuesday) but I returned home from MrA's to hear that one of smaller son's friends had committed suicide. 2 years after bigger son's friend had a year's stay in hospital after attempting the same. And a year after one of the pupils were I used to work also died. All boys in year 11.

    Pleasures for today (Wednesday)

    1) Good to get up after a patchy sleep.

    2) Took bigger son to Go Ape and bumped into a teacher from where I used to work. Took a video of son opening up the site (he has to go up the zip wires backwards when he opens up!)

    3) Hens OK.

    4) Man from the Department of Work and Pensions visited to discuss smaller son's financial affairs as he can't manage them himself.

    5) Met my sister and niece for a cup of tea in Sainsburys.

    6) Bigger son made a chow mein and I made Eton mess for tea.

    7) Smaller son went to the pub with my brother to watch the Manchester derby.

    8) Bigger son and I went for a walk up the river and saw swans and bats.

    9) Messages from MrA.

Frith such sad news. There needs to be more help for the young to help with this.

    1. Chat with nice colleague at work.

    2. Friendly bus driver - he makes people smile which is hard to do on a grey morning on the way to work.

    3. All ironing finished. It took ages but holiday stuff caught up with.

    4. DS2 cooked. Pork cutlets which was lovely.

    5. Got paid more than I exoected. The pay increase of 1% has made very little difference but got a one off payment. Been out into savings for retirement immediately.
