I always struggle to update if I miss a day, but here goes!

    Friday

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens OK.

    3) Bigger son worked at Go Ape.

    4) Walked through the forest and saw 2 pale fallow deer (not albino), one brown deer then some muntjac.

    5) Went to the football with smaller son.

    6) Whizzed to floody city to listen to an archaeology talk with MrA. :-)

    Today (Saturday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Bigger son cycled 58 miles (Hereford and back!) to raise money for his VSO trip. He would like to thank his sponsors :-)

He did well, only slightly getting pinned between a car and a signpost in Hereford and skinning the side of his knee... It took him less than 7 hours.

    3) I worked on the allotment for quite a while - cleaned the hens sleeping quarters out, mended a bird box, planted potatoes and purple sprouting broccoli.

    4) Tidied the garden - swept, tied back climbing roses that were nearly taking our eyes out as we went through the gate! Trimmed stuff back, put the cushions on the outdoor chairs.

    5) Vaguely tidied inside including cleaning the bathroom.

    6) Kedgeree for tea.

    7) Went to Sainsburys for the food for tomorrow and some chocolate!

    8) Watched Casualty.

    9) Messages from MrA.

Oh Sue I feel for you so but whilst there might not be five pleasures to find each day there will always be at least one. Whether it's just a shared moment of humour between the two of you or the sun shining or even the rain pouring ( it's good for the garden!). None of us can see what lies ahead and I for one certainly wouldn't ever have chosen the path we had but we don't get much say in it! And maybe it depends if you're a glass half full or half empty kind of person to start with?

But we are all with you. Rooting for you. Thinking of you. And that knowledge of support here helped me so many times. It still does. We don't 'know' each other but blimey do we know each other! I share more on here with a relative sense of anonymity than I do anywhere else. For myself it's all kind of diarised and because of my style of writing ( far too much of it) I can look back and think oh yes I remember that and it was a good day/ it was a bad day/ it was a difficult day. Because as well as our pleasures we share our down times too.

So please don't ever think it's all sunshine and giggles...sometimes it's moans and groans with the occasional rant thrown in for good measure!

Anyway...please keep posting when you can and what you can...go on I dare you!

It's Easter Sunday . Have a lovely day everyone in whatever way Easter means to you. Just me and DD2 today. Which just seems like not very many. Although she's loud enough to make you think there's many!

Frith - congratulations to bigger son.
Suffolksue - we are all supporting you here. I have found that by posting on here I become more aware of the pleasures and laughter when they occur

    1. A beautiful display in a florist shop.

    2. Lunch eaten outside at a restaurant and watching a boy of about 7 playing with his toys out of everyone's way and enjoying himself. Kept coming back to his table for food and drink.

    3. Relaxing afternoon and maybe a little nap.

    4. Managed to find a bar showing the rugby. It was a good comeback but sadly not quite enough.

    5. Walk back along the beach hearing the waves crashing down.

Sue as so say all of us, please keep posting, we are listening and cheering you on.

    Saturday pleasures,

Smoked salmon for breakfast, might have had a slice of toast as well, BSD be hanged this w/e!

The sparrow squadron lining up for their communal bath in the water feature, lots of tail feather shaking.

A skylark high above the field when I was putting the washing out.

Bath time for pony, not sure who got wetter and she didn’t look much cleaner by the time I had finished but it was a pleasant way to spend a warm afternoon.

Coming up the lane to the cottage and little dog was being walked by Capt S, he hung on to her until I had parked up and then let go, what a welcome home.

First sighting of the bats this summer, nice to know they are ok.

  • A drive through the woods and seeing drifts of bluebells and white wood anemonies and also a great deal of wild garlic.

The hawthorn is just breaking into flower in the sunniest places along the roadsides.

The lilac bushes are beginning to show purple and white in all the gardens in the village.

We also have roadside verges awash with cowslips and primroses and a little daisy flower called 'mouse ear'.

Baby lambs by the gazillion in the fields all round us, we must live in one of the most beautiful counties in the land.
  • Lounge glossed, ceiling done, undercoat on walls. Raffles is not happy.
Dump run at 9 this morning. Straight in!

Wes got the four non blondes on. Cribbage.

Bah hoo! BoPsie is only one win away from two wins on the bounce!

BoPsie has gottten besides hersens. It won’t last!

The non blondes has fun out out of needle on the phonograph thing. Pink Floyd is Inn play. BoPsie is just leading, but ... Mother do you think they’ll break my balls?

    Decider?
BoPsie who got within one of two on the bounce, finders hersens in a decider on cribbage.

BoP is a street ahead on cribbage. All to play for.

BoP. Is at the top of a street. All to play for?

BoPsie has gone for best of five. She is currently 2-1 behind. Colin Hay is now playing on the phonograph.

The Go-Gos are on the phonograph thing with Belinda Carlisle. BoPsie has gone for another wine. I doubt we’ll be playing game six!

Probable Dawn Breaker. Human League nows on phonograph.

All ended up with BoP victorious. BoP won 4-1 on the evening. BoPsie tried to ...
Gary Numan won’t be long on the phonograph!

Told you’d. Now Eddie and the Hot Rods!

BOP: Send emergency paint supplies, we are half way decorated, have now run out of paint and no desire to battle bank holiday crowds to get more. It's a Tuesday job now...

1 Watched an amazing film from Disney about him convincing the author of Mary Poppins, artistic license but still a good film, Saving Mr Banks.

2 I did a little weeding and moved lights about, watching flutterbies, birds and various types of bees, and lots of animal help.

3 Hung washing out, and tidied / cleaned out the fridge.

4 There has been an ice cold cider, and a bowl of pasta and garlic bread.
