About a week since I last posted.

    1. Net a friend last Saturday with his new partner. He seems content with his life now which he hasn't been in a long time. We met them in London after a rugby match and they had been watching football.

    2. Met more friends for lunch on the Sunday. It was good catching up with them.

    3. Had appraisal at work. It went ok and very easy objectives to meet. I have no wish to be promoted and dislike the extra admin duties i already have to do and just want to be left to get on with my clinical work.
I think I am being listened to about it.

    4. Lovely bus driver stopped and let me in the earlier bus. I was walking to the official bus stop about a mile away. Read my book at work.

    5. Seeing geese flying over. I think it's a wonderful sight.

    6. Looking after neighbours card and gorgeous kittens.

    7. Away for a few days over Easter so relaxing.

    Thursday pleasures,

Over to cathedral city to visit the chocolatier there to get something sweet for Capt S.

It was good to be out without a coat or jacket, I washed a couple and put them away for the autumn, likewise some scarves and a hat, just hope I haven’t jinxed it :o

Rode princess pony but she was very sleepy & lethargic in the afternoon sun.

Sat outside with a cuppa and watched the frantic bird activity, flying from hedge to hedge, beaks stuffed with nesting material.

Not very BSD but a bowl of Bakewell Tart ice-cream, oh my.

Beautiful day! I have tan lines on my feet through my sandals!

Up early. Shocking night of poor sleep. So just glad to get up. Lovely sunrise.

Went to l!dl. Got a good few things RTC.

Sat out in garden for a bit . The dog had eaten the ears of a toy giraffe that DD has had since she was little. Oh dear.

Walked down to allotment. It's always a thought to walk there as its so up and downy but it's beautiful and the birds were singing and the hedges all of a sudden all green and the fields filled with lambs.

Planted some onions, some chives and some marigold seeds. Gave everything a good water. Had a chatter with 2 others that were there. Took some Rhubarb .

Then the big walk home. Mostly uphill. And it was hot. Anyway dropped into friends with said rhubarb ( she'd asked me if I could get some ) had a glass of water and sat in her garden for half an hour.

Walked home rather weary by this point. Quick dog walk with Mr H and his lady friend happened to be passing so walked with them then she wanted to come in for a visit...would you say no to an old lady dog? She'd a drink of water then went home!

    Ate dinner in the garden.

Stunning sunsetty sky. Just done the last dog walk. Son away for a few days and he usually does a big one late at night.

    And bed!

    Friday pleasures,

Woke up to warm sunshine and it stayed all day.

Got the garden furniture out of the shed, washed it down together with the swing seat and popped the cushions on, little dog jumped up and I settled down for a long read.

Quick change over of clothes from spare wardrobe to the one in our bedroom, found a couple of summer tops that have picked up in the sales last year and forgotten about.

A green blush on the beech trees.

Chocolate might have been involved :D

Hello. Been on the go since 4.30am . Knew I wouldn't get back to sleep so just got up. Was making blue paper chains at 4.45am.

Made the most delicious cupcakes ( I know ...modest) with tiny little chocolate nests on top with a mini egg. Larger chocolate nests. Put my meringues in egg boxes. Stuck a little bunny cake topper in my brownies.

Had a lovely chat with DD1. She was a bit of a highland coo the other day on the phone so this was refreshingly pleasant!

Went to allotment, drove half way as I needed car for some heavier things at T on way back.

When I get there I always take a few moments ( usually to catch my breath!) just to take stock of the simple beauty of it all. A butterfly must have had the same idea and rested on the table too. Got a lovely photo of it.

Managed to fence off one plot. Will do the third one tomorrow. The second one already done. Planted some sweet ones seeds in 2 tubs to go in between my beds. I think most folk will just have veggies but I want some pretty flowers too. A few folk to chat to. Was just the most glorious spring morning.

Home via T and quick shower and change. I've put weight on again and dress I'd hoped to wear didn't fit and I've ended up wearing the dress I wore to my husband's funeral. Which was a favourite dress before but I've not worn it since. I've always kind of balked at the idea of wearing it again but I did and it fitted and I will now wear it again.

Baby shower for niece . Baby boy due in just a few weeks. Mainly her friends who I've met before, her MIL and SIL who I now know quite well. It was a lovely afternoon, most of it spent in garden just chatting. Did a few guessing games with chocolate bunnies as prizes. GN had a couple of friends there too so they did an egg hunt and a colour in the best bunny competition. Everyone a winner!

Nice to see but nice to say goodbye! House nice and quiet! Don't really need tea as have been nibbling all afternoon.

Just going to read library book for a bit I think , snuggle up with my dog.
  • The weather which given it's a Bank Holiday Weekend is amazingly good.

Lovely coffee out at the garden centre this morning with DD1 and James.

Getting DD1 2 x single duvet sets (new condition) reduced to 50p each in the charity shop sale.

Being given a load of firewood by a neighbour which HWK has sawn up this afternoon and I've stacked under the car port to season properly for the winter.

The fact that I can still climb in through a window to undo the door when the door we went out by to the garden got stuck and although HWK had his front door keys in his pocket we'd left the key in the lock inside! Not bad for 71 eh?
