The curse is over! Now. BoPsie mentioned at Sis of Big, plied with chocolates, that we could get home in time for the gimps! We left after five! Now I has never in my born days since that husband of Ms Ash tripped and fell over in April 84 such a blatant dive. Mega is the BoP. BoPsie says my words are blue! Better rid of the cheats. For those unsure of who Ms Ash is, she was in that washing liquid commercial in the 60's. Please boycott Fairy!

5 Had a good scran at the Vets BrekFast YestDay, snorkers were aten! Well stuffed, then we shot offs to Big Sis! Like seeing the natives, sweeteners were at hand in a box of Roses. That is what it is like having BoP as your Bruv!

4 Had inside picnic and nosh. Cake was also eaten! Tum was rubbed,

3 Then home and has the fries chicken of south herbs. Nice. Wobbellades were consumed and more tout watched. Raffles was stirred, Talking of Raffles, who likes his feeding regimen from BoP has today wince eyed BoPsie. She has fallen for his charms.

2 Nights tea is Jacks tea. Like it or lump it. Proper foods, pork pie, dogs, soup, roll with Butter. Just had a decent tart as well! BoPsie mentioned as she had her nosh out last morning that she used some sunflower spread. She could not bear it. Please avoid as this is not proper food.

Not having one today, enuff with the gimps.

    That is it from BoP!

    Edit
    Please think of BoPsie
She has just mentioned Wednesday. It is cold in the shed this time of year. DD will understand.

It's been a beautiful day here. Very bright but also very windy so washing out on the line and almost dry.

Have emptied plant pots and moved the ones I want to keep out the way. Haggis enjoyed being out in the garden. Shall wash my floors shortly. Seemed no point when we were in and out from the muddy mess.

Made a huge pot of soup. With veggies from freezer and left over ham from fridge.

I made a me size portion of macaroni. Son had haggis.

Cleaned bathrooms and had yet another rant at my children ( adults!) about the state of their bathroom...each one claims it's not them!

suffolksue Heather Morris's The Tattooist of Auschwitz. Hard-going, so also well out of my comfort zone! i finished it tonight so can get back to 'a boy made of blocks' which i am very much enjoying. met a lovely lady whose oldest granddaughter has autism while we waited for our routine mammograms and she'd read it and said it was really good. and then back to Peter May China series. so many books, so little reading time ;-)

PS just looked up Betrayal 'A riveting and emotionally absorbing portrait of post-war Soviet Russia' which was pretty much where the Tattooist ended.

I read that on holiday, want to say 'enjoyed' it, but maybe that isn't the right word given the content.

Hello all been busy, as you'll see.

Pleasures for the last 3 days

    1. walks by the sea, was rather wild today however
    2. Hedgelaying - wet yesterday and very windy today but what we've done looks good and has opened out the views. A portaloo ended up upside down in a ditch... :rotfl:
    3. Good food and good company - i baked a peach melba traybake that went down a storm and a cold tea fruit loaf today.
    4. Went to friends for dinner yesterday - turkey, chorizo and kale stirfry - was yom.
    5. Bath and book when i got back and an evening of doing not very much at all

    have a good evening all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

VJsmum - we were walking/cycling on the top of the Clee Hill today and a portaloo had blown over inside the radar station!

    Pleasures for today (Sunday).

    1) A lie in.

    2) Listened to the Archers.

    3) Made sun dried tomato muffins for lunch to go with vegetable soup.

    4) Hens well.

    5) Bigger son had a driving lesson to the Clee Hill then went on his bike. It was almost too windy to walk.

    6) Chicken casserole for tea with dumplings, then flapjacks.

    7) Bigger son and I just caught up with 2 episodes of Hunted.

    1) shared lunch at church. much yummy food, and seem to have come away with as much (but different) as i went with!
    2) lovely walk with mrpiano and the dogs. we'd been aiming at magdalen but met a friend and ended up walking to mr t
    3) i waited outside with the 3 dogs. found a nice pile of bags of peat to sit on. lots of people stopped to chat :D
    4) this evening was compline. choir master has set up a monthly compline choir - basically we just need to turn up at 5:15 for practice, then cuppa, the service. lovely :D
    5) then home for curry. left over from yesterday. very yummy (is it just me or does curry taste even better the day after?!)

  • My five for today are;

    1) Good sleep last night then watched Andrew Marr after breakfast.

    2) Sewing in the morning - two pillowcases made for a friend

    3) Took Mum out for the afternoon and went to the tiny village by the River Forth where dad grew up. As a child/teen I spent many happy weekends there with gran. Anniversary of dads death is on Wednesday hence the visit.

    4) Mum treated me to tea and cake on way home.

    5) After I got home I washed and emptied the car in the freezing cold as I'm selling it tomorrow. I've thought about this for months as I hardly use the car - I don't like driving and live on an exceptionally good bus route. I also have a free bus pass so I'm taking the plunge tomorrow.

A bit nervous about this decision but I'm sure it's for the best xx

    Always DD :D

    Sunday pleasures,

Bacon butties followed by the Archers omnibus.

Not a pleasure as such but a necessity, furniture shopping. Armed with tape measure we set off, found what we wanted and then found it in a local store considerably cheaper.

To make up for spending our Sunday doing the above, Capt S treated us to a Sunday roast at the farm shop.

    Snoozing on the sofa.

    The latest episode of Vera.
  • Keep using the Duck! Use Duck Duck Go and not the tracker google!

Good to see bacon butties and snorker sarnies on the roll!

Nows I keep having people ask me how can I go out and afford to drink like a fish so quick after xmas! Well, yous see that I has bins on here about Blue Monday, the credit card bill that gave you xmas and all its waste, and the five weeks until your next pay! Whale Oil Beef Hooked! Nows this week is payday and ifs yous like BoP, divide by five and put that extra away. Then next xmas yous have some spare! Not my way, but that of Mr Micawber!

V Another weak at mill and we has a packed lunch box today to start off withs. Orange, and orange in orange jelly! Triple orange! Apple smoked cheese, two cakes of Jaffa (more orange!), salad from Jacks tea, pork pie and a chocolate digestive. Proper and good. Dids I tells you BoPsie used some sunflower spread at BreKFest Scran. It was not nice and she refused! There that is wht it is like with proper foods! Oh, good for the one who had snorker sarnies t’other day! Proper tasty! Nows I is thinkings that next weak I could put some trifle sponges in me jelly!

4 On abits BrekFest Club, wes has raffle each month with nonsense prizes. Books go round etc! I got a Pat Reid! Prisoner of War. Starts on a good point about Richard Coeur de Lion blinding all but one of the French Knights, keeping the sight in one eye, and letting him lead them home. Hence the Blind leading the Blind! There! Actually it could be considered an act of Clemency.

3 Caught up on Mick Portillo and Uni Challenge last eve, after Jacks tea. Raffles had his treats. Buttered crumpets with marmite were wolfed down.

2 Nite BoP is trimming in the gym.

    Not having one today!

I read elsewhere that there is nonsense on this net thing! Please be assured yous no get nonsense from BoP. You gets it strait!

BoP is real, everything else is a mistake!

Evening ! In the land that is chilly but heating has been switched off for the night and I'm cosied up in bed and intend ( ha...probably fall asleep) to read my library book I started this afternoon.

A few nice short doggy walks today. It's been another bright but cold day.

Continuing my quest to keep a tidy house! ( which it is quite but muddy dog paws and never ending laundry prevail) wrote a list and ticked everything off.

Went to T...again wrote a list and didn't vere too far off course! I'm down to my last ten quid in cash and shall reach the end of the month without using my card! I shall! Shall do the same in February I think. Makes me think before I buy.

Tidied larder cupboards to see what I actually have. My kids open the fridge door and look in expecting to see something amazing and come back out disappointed ... I look in and see what can be created!

Tonight it was a lovely pasta with spaghetti , 10p packet of bacon from the freezer, RTC mushrooms, frozen peas, a pepper, some onion, some RTC chives, end of the Parmesan bought in M&S pre Christmas...'oh that's a really tiny piece of cheese 'said the girl on the till! Oh well love it's lasted 6 weeks and quite a few meals! and today's purchase of a tub of cream. Yummy and leftovers for tomorrow's packed lunches.

Started my book. I've not read in a couple of weeks so thought I should!

Chap messaged me about picking up free paving slabs. He came round and hopefully will come tomorrow to collect. I don't really care where they go but these ones are going to a local community project so that's quite nice!

I'd left side gate open in case he came back ...he didn't but postman decided to put 2 parcels in the garden bin which was filled with mucky compost from all the pots I'd emptied yesterday! Luckily the compost was frozen solid but seriously ? In the garden bin?

Treated myself to my weekly bunch of daffodils. Last week's bunch still had a day or so bloom left so popped them in a jam jar I'd just emptied.

    Snow is forecast overnight!
