Sorry for your loss, Frith - and the bad memories brought back.
Lainey - ooh I'd forgotten about newsquiz.. thanks
Pleasures for yesterday.
1. Message from GBF's - were passing could they come for coffee? OF COURSE
2. Coffee turned into lunch - luckily I had made a huge lasagne the day before, plus i'd bought a RTC christmas pud a few weeks ago.
3. Wine may have been drunk  I took an anti histamine and don't seem to have suffered any ill effects. i won't do it all the time (will still reduce wine consumption) but nice to know that i can :T
4. DS went back to uni - not particularly the pleasure as i like having him at home. however, he has gone back without too much angst as far as i can tell
5. DD, OH and i watched The Death of Stalin together. Was good, but nice for us to all be together. We had thought about going to Stan and Ollie, but had all had too much to drink and i didn't want to walk. So i guess we also saved £30, but will probably go this week
in london for supervision - have a lovely day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
No BoP is not wrong, he is never wrong. If you think this is wrong, read it again. Got it?
Careful VJ, in the smoke for corrective therapy as well?
V No, BoP is on BuckFace and all its truths! Well yesterday on the nice picture of the pensioners leaving their house with their possession on a moped, BoP muttered about all I need now is a the coop directors and blow me socks of, if not the trawling database gives me funeral plans! Not gone just yet!
4 Then by some wizardry device, I can cut my electric bill by mega watts if I purchase this miraculous device! I suggest that before BoP gives you an answer on it, check out PF correction. Would work if you ran looms like us, we don’t use the water wheel any more than you do! The V and A’s have it! Note ifs yous want to save money on your electric bill, fit LED lights all round!
BoP was an aircraft electrician before I move dto the boiler house, so I know what I am doing. Got it? Notes from my colleague range from gullible to fantasia!
3 Now I watched the flix of net again last evening. Very good film, I has bin meaning to watch for a while! The Last Man on the Moon. Gene Cernan! Wobbleade was consumed.
2 Day in BoP’s Lunch box we have no cucumber! Toms, mature cheese, party rings, oranges in raspberry jelly and a delight of Turkish. Tea will also be swilled down in the boiler room.
Not having one today.
Justs realised that ginger nut has gone white!0 -
For Sunday
1 The usual Sunday grilled bacon butty.
2 The second coat of paint is now on in the bathroom, but with too much animal help que a rather rapid dunk/bath of the ferret who was unimpressed and would much rather be the new colour of the paint.
3 Used up a lot of left in the fridge things and created a pasta dish with everything, pasta is so good at disguising leftovers.
4 A massive box of last years birthday malteasers was err a treat, feeling very full.
5 Animal snuggles.
Todays
1 I got up at 5.30 for the bathroom and remembered the moon, so popped through to the front room and sure enough there it was and clear as clear, none of the photo’s I’ve seen compare to what I did see, and I know if I took a photo it wouldn’t have done it justice. DH not happy that I “didn’t wake him up” to see it as well when I know full well what his response would have been!
2 I’ve finished redecorating the bathroom, I am really happy it’s done. Cabinets fitted back in and re filled, roll holder re attached, blind cleaned and put back up, it’s re-assembled, next up is to carry on.
3 Washed our bedding, then washed the animal bedding, replaced all with clean, and hoovered all around upstairs
4 Popped a stew on slow cooking in the oven, I am determined to use up all of fridge veg, and I think that is the last of it. Smells nice cooking through and I’ve made dumplings.
5 Sitting here in the warm, with a tea, reading a book, candles lit and the lovely smell of dinner cooking.0 -
Weather has turned rather ghastly so I'm glad I'm in for the night!
Children up very early...each blaming the other! Son was going up a mountain and his alarm woke his sister but not him. She then started being noisy which woke me but not him! He finally woke and off he went by which time I was wide awake but she was quietening down! All between 4-5am! Ridiculous !
Had an appointment today but other person didn't turn up! Rather annoyed as I had brought someone with me. Slightly growling!
Bought daffodils.
Went out to other side of town to meet up with old work colleagues . Good catch up and a bit of a laugh!
Getting home. Hate driving in dark and in dark rain even less so. Heating now on.
Will rake around and make tea. DD2 had already eaten and the always hungry boy child is away for a few days.0 -
Pleasures for today (Monday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Work was fine but only 9 minutes off all day!
4) Went to my niece's 4th birthday party. She was most taken with a Jessie doll from Toy Story.
5) Bigger son started his application for his access course.
6) In bed already with 1 hwb and don't know what to watch on the laptop.0 -
May resort to a HWB myself tonight, Frith.
Pleasures for today
1. Up early, not a pleasure. But the walk to the station in the dark was.
2. only one egg and one rosti train breakfast today, but still good - 2 coffees.
3. Good supervision. Very critical but really helpful. I realised i've come a long way if i can feel good about that kind of criticism. Also, can see what you mean DD, when i talk about it all, i do sound like the expert in the room. Just need to sort out the writing it down.
4. hummus and oatcakes for lunch and Bacon sourdough and avocado for tea. Yom.
5. Mmm, can't think of a fifth. i'll bank it...
Have a good evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Pleasures for today;
1) Slow start to the day as didn't get up till 9.30 but once I got going there was no stopping me :j
2) Sewing for 5 hours today. Managed to sew all the squares for the memory quilt together. Next step layering with wadding.
3) Went for a two mile walk after lunch. Very dull and freezing cold - my face was red for ages afterwards.
4) Home made quiche from the freezer for dinner.
5) Watched Vera this evening and the Silent Witness. Getting lots of knitting done.
A very productive day for me xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Sorry been absent ,not many pleasures
DH not been at all well since Thursday's fall ,needed support from me and his stick to just get around the home .Left a message for his specialist nurse this morning and she'd already made an emergency OT and physio referral before she rang me back .Shes coming tomorrow .
Early Response team ( so many new terms) phoned and came this afternoon .
Much to Mr Stroppys disgust we now have a walking frame (grudgingly admits it may be useful )and a commode(will never be needed),well it might as this evening two episodes of 'the runs' thank heavens for washing machines .
Miraculously having needed much support and been unable to stand unaided all weekend ,he did when they were here and walked with his stick .!,I'm probably down as an over anxious noncoper now ,
Pleasures
1 hedges finished ,look good ,
2 help was available and even if not needed now the equipment is here for the next time .
3 I did manage to get to WI (I'm treasurer and this is the start of the new year and subs due )
4 supportive phone calls from friend and son .
5 no falls today
Hope you're all well0 -
Good Morning Peeps,
Up bright and early, as I have to make some changes to today's plan. I have been asking DS1 to bring some bottle caps home from work. (For weeks). He forgot. Now I can't do what I want to do today  Such a small thing, but it has really upset me, as I don't ask much from him.
Anyway.....
1. I have finished writing my list of issues to email to my line manager. Another waste of time, but it is more constructive than just moaning.
2. Watched Call the Midwife and Vera, while I hatched a new plan for today.
3. LO for lunch.
4. Left work early.
5. Gammon, egg and chips for tea.
6. Just let the dog out. The moon is beautiful.
Have a lovely day0 -
House elf- advice my sister have me is to put in your email how the issues are making you feel as its can't be disputed. They can argue with facts. She wrote me a sample email to send .
1. Saw the moon. Tried taking a photo but it didn't come out well.we
2. Went food shopping after work and it was fairly quiet. Friendly cashier who was chatty but still worked as well.
3. Easy tea took about 10 minutes to prepare and then put in oven for an hour or so.
4. DH ordered some work clothes. He needed them and ordered with my Quidco account but his money!
5. Watched Only Connect in peace and then all watched Silent Witness.
6. Sitting in the sofa with a blanket feeling warm.0
