  • Hi, my five for today are;

    1) Set my alarm for 8 am as recently I've been sleeping later and later and I want to get back into the habit of getting up earlier. I was wakened on and off from 4.30 then got a fright when the alarm went off.

    2) All showered and out of the house for the 9.35 bus to a nearby town.

    3) Got caught in a really heavy snow shower - it was brilliant. I love the snow.

    4) Bought some Vilene from Remnant Kings for £3 then a visit to Asda. I spent £8.32 there but very happy with my shopping haul with several ys fruit and veg. Asda prices very competitive.

    5) I ironed the quilt top this afternoon and I'm very happy with it.

Specially for digforvictorymy recipe for Cherry and Almond cookies.

4oz plain flour 2oz SR flour. 2tsp baking powder
2oz brown sugar. 2oz caster sugar. 1 egg
Half tsp almond ess. 3 and half tbsp oil. 1oz ground almonds
1 oz flaked almonds. 2 oz chpd glac! cherries 1 tbsp milk

    Mix all ingredients together
Place walnut sized balls on a greased tray
Bake at 170*C ( fan oven) for approx 10 mins.

    Happy baking xx

    Pleasures for today (Tuesday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) A day off work - hoorah! Smaller son did not deign to go to school but I cleaned the entire living room and kitchen (including floor steaming), then the bathroom.

    3) Hens managed to pull 2 stunts this morning! They are in a run about 10x8 metres which is within the allotment. Got down there this morning and one very smug hen was outwith the run and looking very pleased! Fed them and got them all back in the run only to find FIVE eggs, from only 4 hens!

    4) Did the charity shops in town and got smaller son a fleece. He has outgrown everything by growing 3 inches since the autumn.

    5) Popped to Waitrose to use my £4 off voucher.

    6) Met my school friend for a cup of tea.

    7) My brother came round for a bit.

    8) Watched Holby.

    Good Morning Folks,

The snow looks pretty, but not enough for a Snow Day :(

BoP 'Gloop' is a HM washing 'liquid' made from bar soap and soda crystals. A big bucket lasts weeks and costs less than a pound! :money:

    Yesterday

    1. Sent my email to my line manager. I doubt if anything will change, but I have registered my concerns, so I can say 'I told you so', if something happens.

    2. Got through the day. Y7 class were amazing and so were my Primary class, but very hard work. I need a lie down afterwards, but it's training on a Tuesday evening.

    3. DS2 passed his Navy Test. Very proud of him, but I have not stopped crying. (Still hoped he would change his mind :().

    4. Went to Nando's for tea to celebrate. DS2 choice.

    5. Watched Withnail and I in celebration of Richard E Grant's Oscar nomination.......had a glass of sherry at appropriate points! (Not the full drinking game on a work night :rotfl:).

    Have a lovely day :)

MrsSD we do get loads of cobnuts. Can't give them all away.

    1. My line manager actually asked how MIL funeral went. It was the first time I had seen her since.

    2. Work was bearable.

    3. Long chat with DS1 on the phone.

    4. DS2 cooked this green curry for tea.

    5. Early night.

    Tuesday pleasures,

Made the most of the sunshine, played hooky from my chores and took small dog for a long walk. Was all bundled up against the cold so warm by the time we got back to the car.

Used up an opened jar by making mincemeat buns, had muffin cases instead of bun cases so only half the quantity but yum.

Had picked up a bag of Egremont Russet apples in the emporium the other day, expensive but they are my favourites so enjoyed one with a piece of cheese.

    Cuddles with small dog.

Mackerel and SF Veg for tea.
  • Gloop. Not proper food!

Ah, BoP may fulminate over this! Nows yous knows how BoP does decent scran. Bet yous wanting to try grated cheese, marmite and chopped onions on toast! Proper foods just lick a weakened bacon and egg banjo. Bacon is ok on its own, but you cannot beat a bacon and egg banjo!

& Keeps in an appearance, but due to her putah having better control of her thoughts than she has, we will leave at that! She would respond, but read it again. Yes, BoP is corectto mundo! ‘ere’s whats yous does &. Write your ditty in Word like BoP, then cut and paste into here. Simple. Don’t cut and paste things strainght from word though as MSE softies don’t like that and it bans you! Cut into notepad and it strips them bits of word out, then copy into here!

And do use the Duck, that Goggle thing collects data and tracks you. Also BuckFace, type funeral on a response and then see what plans it gives you over the coming days!

5 Enough of grating, now on the things that make BoP’s life perfect! The lunch box again packed with goodness! More cakes of Jaff, and DfV. They do not travel well! Raspberry jelly, toms, cheese of apple smoked wood. That is it. Enough to keep BoP going on and on and on!

4 Human bio was released yesterday. BoP rule, invoice Monday pay Friday, no pay Friday, human bio released. Seems that the over educated one does not understand his job. Second day off due to being a complete baffoon. Still when I was 20 I flew first class BA to Rio. Didn’t stop long as we had a plane to get out! Felt sorry for the paying public though, they had to wait until we boreded again to get off! No shilling to the baffoon!

39 Years ago BoP went to Swinderby. The rest has been pure playing with big toys! And I did not get a shilling either!

2 Cuz was on the Bolshevik Broadcasting Commissariat this morning. Must be some new fangled thing on flix of net! Did end up on the cooking channel last day, some programme on icons. Blow me, I am not working class and poor? Sorry, why did it have to condescend to that? No, actually BBC you get £3,800,000,000 each year through the regressive TV Tax. That is around the same GDP as the world’s 135th richest nation. I am also working class. I have to solicit for work? It seems that they want to gain more revenue by taxing granddad as well. Time to stop paying and make it unenforceable. And if you think they are advert free, seems ginger tops breakfast show is also advert free, without someone mentioning some tax you have to pay! And the cricket on talksport as well.

    Having one! See above!

    Cheerio to the

Good evening, another day of living relatively quietly.

Very cold this morning. But stayed in bed a bit longer instead of having heating on!

Just me and my doggy for a little while.

Floors hoovered and washed ...made son rewash them when he came back from a dog walk with a wet dog!

Tidied fridge and freezer. Slightly more room in freezer as I've been using stuff up. However I had not realised I had 2 bags of ice taking up valuable space. Grrrr! Blackberry mountain slowly decreasing! But still a huge bag of rhubarb and one of chopped apples. My two housemates don't like cooked fruit...just DD1 and she's not here! Will just make puddings when the niecelys come for tea.

Went to tesco. Wrote a list and didn't diverge too far. Had a £6 off a £40 spend to spent wisely and have enough cleaning/laundry products / dog food to probably see me till end of Feb. Had went round with a calculator so was surprised to be £1.50 over. Checked receipt and I'd lifted a more expensive pack of beef so took it back and got the one I'd thought I was getting. They were in the wrong section.

Pottered about. Son came home from the mountains. We had leftover corned beef hash for late lunch with salad.

Did a bit more tidying in DD1 room. Rubbish out. Recycling out. Washing hung up which means I don't need to have a clothes horse in dining room anymore.

Just going to make chicken pie. Using last of RTC potatoes, RTC puff pastry and just a tiny dent on the RTC sprouts!

Favourite Australian magazine sent from DD1 . Sat in extension reading it in the last of the daylight . A little post it note saying she'd walked in 30o heat to buy it before it became 38o heat by lunchtime! Do not miss that part of Australia. It was a very heavy frost this morning -4o. Hopefully not too frosty tomorrow morning as I'm out and about early.

Have a nice night I'm off to make a pie! ( and apparently it's national pie day!)

    Pleasures for today (Wednesday).

    1) Not a bad sleep. I woke up at 3.30am and it was so light I thought it was morning and got up. It was the moonlight reflecting off the snow!

    2) A long day at work but only half a day to go.

    3) Made some brownies.

    4) Bigger son went to games night with my brother and brother in law.

    5) I watched DIY SOS.

    That's about it for today!

    Wednesday pleasures,

An invitation for a cousins birthday party, a family get together.

Carrot & Butternut Squash soup for lunch.

Into Uni City for haircut, remembered the every day hassle of commuting as sat in traffic, thank goodness no more.

Arrangements made with pals to attend afternoon tea organised by the hospice that cared for DM.

Watched back to back episodes of Silent Witness, gruesome :(
