My five for today are;
1) Up and out early to hit the sales. I went with a list and stuck to it.
2) Mum gave me £20 for a Xmas treat - I spent it in TKMaxx and got a pink checked scarf that felt like cashmere and a wallet for organising my monthly pocket money in.
3) Met up with a friend and had a coffee and a blether.
4) A bit of sewing in the afternoon - replaced a zip in sons cycling club jacket. A bit fiddly but really glad that's done before he goes back.
5) Son arrived back from the Cairngorms earlier than expected - it was freezing. I think he's getting a bit soft now after living down south for 2 and a half years :rotfl: He's away back to gf's parents now but visiting me again on Saturday.
Just going off to bed now to read my library book for a bit xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

1 Up and out MILs the new to us car is driving beautifully.
2 We took two little animals with us who enjoyed some attention.
3 Lovely to catch up with all DH’s family, we don’t tend to see them until this time each year.
4 Nice to be home and welcomed back.
5 Nice to make some plans.
6 I purchased a dress I had my eye on months it's now half price and I also had a five pound voucher off.
A bit of an emotional time catching up for me as I talked through, I realised on the way home, just how much loss the last year had brought and lost my make up on the way home as it hit again.0 -
Gooood mooooorrning from my bed
Been a while.
PK sadness is understandable. Hugs to you x
Pleasures for the last few
1 mother in law has gone back home. Goodness, but she was hard work. So sad for her to be so miserable all the time.
2 lovely pressies. Best one was a pewter tree.
3. Yummy Christmas dinner. OH cooked it, roast beef with all the trimmings. I made the Yorkshire puds which were fab, if I say so myself.
4. A couple of nice walks. One along the river and one in the arboretum.
5. Other in laws came and we played games on Boxing Day. Everyone left yesterday afternoon and I had a lovely bathy, with a Christmas bath bomb and call the midwife.
Off to ICT tomorrow, may have to do marking today.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Good morning,
PK Another milestone along your journey. ((Hugs)).
Mhags DD messaged to say she is going to fly home via Australia. She wants to meet up with a friend who is travelling around the world. My head thinks it is a really great idea, but my heart is sad that we will not see her until May.
Yesterday
1. Doggie had her operation, which went well.......I was a bit irritated by the vetinary nurse who tried to upsell everything on the estimate. You could understand it in McDonalds, but at the vets  We don't have insurance, as every time we have tried to claim there is a get out clause, so was relieved that the final bill matched the estimate. (I think I got my point across). Trying to get a groggy dog, wearing the giant cone of shame into, and out of the car, was Laurel and Hardy material. :rotfl:
2. I have ordered a pair of boots with my Christmas money. They have gone down another £30 from before Xmas. Got 5% discount and will get a £5 voucher, so pleased I waited.
3. Pottered in the kitchen watching a couple of films. Made chilli con carne. Then washed the kitchen floor. I have not attempted this for months........due to the building work, it is a pointless task
4. Booked flights to India for our summer holidays. :j (Cheap cos it will be monsoon). The plan is to visit DD and then continue on to Rajasthan...... May even revisit Udaipur, where we got engaged.
5. Another evening in front of the tellyBroke out the Celebrations and finished off the Advocaat. Nodded off and missed the last bit of Vera and The ABC Murders
Have a lovely day0 -
Hugs PK
Boxing Day pleasures.
A bit of a lie-in and not down until gone 8am, late for me.
Sent Capt S off to the emporium for veg and fresh bread, felt a bit mean but he said all was quiet, perhaps folks were hitting the sales instead.
Family arrived and I dished up a feast, mainly veggie and all enjoyed.
Played games, all good fun.
After all our visitors had gone did the last of the washing up, got into my PJ’s and slobbed on the sofa watching tv, might have even eaten yet more food, am definitely fasting today!0 -
1 A very lazy start.
2 DH treated me to a Neal’s yard beauty balm, I’ve been using it and it’s fantastic, the first one that has left my skin feeling amazing.
3 My thoughts have turned to thinking of booking in some short camping trips.
4 I made a leftover Christmas pie, it was literally everything that would be in a meal chopped up, added a little more fresh veg and garlic, all mixed in with gravey topped with puff and served with greens on the side, must be good as not a morsel left.:D
5 A very mini tidy up, washing loads and changed our bedding.0 -
Not quite bedtime but I think it's time for jim-jams soon.
Our overnight guest left this morning. Was just a fleeting visit.
Started back at skinny club. Not been in months but weighed about the same as I did when I left and certainly less than I was last year. Won the raffle prize.
Had to take DD2 into town for blood tests so had a mooch around a few charity shops. Couple of tops and a baby gro-bag thing .
Bought a couple of things in sales for DD1 birthday.
10p sprouts in M&S .
Glad to just be home. Quick chat with niece and about to try my SIL , see if she's in.0 -
Hi, my five for today are;
1) Woke early so made a cuppa and went back to bed and read till 8.
2) Started decluttering by going through jewellery box. Been meaning to do this for ages. I've now got a bundle of costume jewellery for the cs and a few bits to put by for dgd. My days of going out wearing large chunky necklaces are long gone :rotfl:
3) I went for a walk in the sunshine after lunch. Only walked for half an hour as my hip was bothering me. It was still great to get out for some fresh air.
4) Went to mums for dinner - no Tunnocks tea cake for afters as we had sherry trifle. Very yummy 😋.
5) Will watch something on Netflix and do some knitting now although I've not got enough wool to finish the cardigan for dgd. Didn't notice the pattern was using 2 x 200g balls and I bought 2x100g - another trek to the wool shop soon I think 🤔
Have a lovely evening xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Pleasures for today (Friday, possibly!)
1) A lie in.
2) Hens well and they had left over porridge and cream.
3) Bigger son and I went up the top of the Clee Hill for mountain biking (him) and it wasn't raining or too windy. Stayed up there about 2 hours and saw 2 red kites.
4) Did washing, tidied up etc.
5) A very exciting parcel arrived and smaller son and I had a go with the board game therein. ;-)
6) Bigger son made the tea using his new Take Away Secret book. Sweet and sour chicken tonight, with fried rice.
7) Have done very little this evening but am in bed now with 1hwb and might catch up with something on iplayer.0 -
Morning all - i am up bright and early as DS was hammering on my bedroom window at 4.30 because he left his jacket in a club and it has his keys in it. I think that he has either forgotten it, lost it or has given them some lip so they wouldn't let him have it. Then he proceeded to throw up for an hour....
Anyway on to nicer things - pleasures for yesterday
1. Got three loads of washing done and hung out. They were not dry but will dry all the better for their 'airing'
2. Did the shopping, it was quiet in Aldi
3. Everyone was out and i cracked on with the marking
4. Tried to watch the film of Les Mis - but had to skip the last hour, it was just so dire. Not sure why that is a pleasure - except the ability to skip it...:p
5. Cooked nut roast for me, veggie burger for DD and lamb for DS all with the same veggies. Mine was nommy. DD didn't like her beetroot based burger and left most of it. i will mash it up in a wrap for lunch.
Supposed to be going to ICT today, but may have to be later than planned as I will need to sort his keys out. (Yes, i know he should but it will be easier and more straightforward if I do it.)I wanna be in the room where it happens0
