Happy Christmas Eve :j
What a beautiful full moon this morning, as I let the doggie out into the garden. When the extension is finished, I will be able to see it from my kitchen window.
Yesterday
1. Chose a time to go to Lidl when it wasn't too busy and lots of reductions.
2. Went to the cinema to see Aquaman, but also popped into the screening for the film DD is in. Saw the first 10 minutes we missed on Friday, so actually saw the scene she is in! :rotfl: So proud ......Our little girl on the big screen.
3. Steak and chips. (Rtc steak and Lidl 19p potatoes).
4. First Christmas sherry.
5. Another Vera, custard slices and a cup of tea before bedtime. No high excitement of SCRABBLE here. DH doesn't like it although he usually wins. :rotfl:
Have a lovely day.......I think we may have overstretched ourselves .....vet appointment, another carol concert, Mary Poppins and Christmas Eve Buffet. Somewhere along the line I have to procure last few ingredients for tomorrow's starter and make the red cabbage!

My five for yesterday were;
1) Christmas housework all finished.
2) Christmas baking all done - just Christmas dinner and desserts to prepare for today.
3) Watched a film in the afternoon while knitting with chunky acrylic/angora wool that is lovely to knit with.
4) I am knitting dgd a short sleeved cardigan to wear with the unicorn dress and leggings I'm giving her for her Christmas. I won't have it finished for Christmas but it'll do for her 6th birthday in January.
5) Son and his girlfriend arrived at 4 and we went out for dinner at 5 with my mum. Son and gf then left to stay with her parents in Edinburgh. Son coming back tomorrow for Christmas dinner.

Hmm, pleasures for Sunday.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Saw a wren making its way through the bottom of the hedge, hadn’t seen any for months.
DSS’s finally turned up for lunch an hour late and then youngest was so hungover he couldn’t eat anythingCapt S was angry and quiet, I felt like a wind up doll trying to keep the conversation going. Only pleasure was table looked lovely with my grandma’s crockery and tablecloth on.
They went home and we talked through what had happened, a good relationship is always a pleasure.
The best bits of HIGNFY.0 -
1 Carpets vaxed, bathroom cleaned, washing loads done.
2 DH’s and animals pressies wrapped with amazing amounts of animal help a lot of laughing was had, they had a field day.:rotfl:
3 We travelled and picked up the “new to us” car, which is all insured, taxed etc, DH’s cheeks hurt from grinning so much. We seemed to be guided to it a year to the day dad passed in a pearlescent green my dads live in most favourite colour in the world.:o
4 After phone tag caught up with nephew and brother, lovely to do, you never know after living here pft 15 years they may make it over, we’ll see.
5 Sitting here with Baileys and ice, with a mince pie.:rudolf::xmastree::xmastree::rudolf:0 -
Pleasures for today (Christmas Eve).
1) A lie in.
2) Hens well.
3) Went to my sister's for lunch and so the niece/nephews could open their presents. My niece liked the little Christmassy socks I bought her. Smaller son refused to go.
4) Remembered to take the candles for mum and dad to use in the lanterns for their church service. Smaller son refused to go so bigger son and I also could not go.
5) Bigger son is wearing his new Christmas Eve pyjamas. Smaller son's are, apparently, a word that rhymes with pit. The tea I cooked this evening was described as the same and I have been told that the stocking will be identically bad and that he no longer wants to go to football on Boxing Day. He was attempting to rip up the tickets the last time I went downstairs at 7.30pm.
6) Bigger son gave up and went to bed at 7. I've been in bed since 7.30. I suppose a pleasures is I finally got to watch The Lady in the Van.
No idea whether to put the stockings out, just do bigger son's and I don't actually know whether smaller son has gone to bed or not.
Happy days. :-/0 -
Wide awake in middle of the night...I never sleep properly on Christmas Eve.
Merry Christmas . I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Christmas Eve was filled with lovely things .
A beautiful walk with Haggis, DD1 & GN . We'd a bit of an adventure as we took a path normally locked off. The most stunning morning. Cold but bright with a hard frost and icy puddles to crack.
Baked.
Nice walk down woods and our castle as sun was setting.
The Elves left and pyjamas were left . Almost a disaster when the 8-9 pyjamas turned out to be 3-4!
We had takeaway for tea .
GN left ( hyper) at 8pm freshly laundered in her new jammies but will be back again in the morning! Always lovely to have but lovely to go.
friends in and out at various points.
OHs best friend in with their dog. Haggis is a bit precious at sharing his mummy / brother/ toys / Christmas bed! It was funny! Little dog sees no problem in sharing any of the above and carries on regardless !!
Trying to fill stockings and going to bed before your adult children! And a pre bed discussion on what to do first thing. Their first thing will be different from mine!
Have a day most lovely x0 -
Happy Christmas!
Up early to wrap presents......don't know what I have been doing for the last few days.....but it was not wrapping presents :rotfl: No danger of anyone getting up early to see what Santa has brought them, so I have got away with it.
Christmas Eve
1. Dog to the vets. She needs an op on her ear. Lots of money, but no more than insurance would have been, so could have been worse. Pleasure was that vets is next to the Coop and I got some rtc pigs in blankets.
2. Pigs in blankets for breakfast.
3. Carols by Candlelight. Very different atmosphere to usual carol concert. Orchestra in frock coats and wigs. John Lewis for lunch using free cake and drink voucher, and festive lattes from Costa using a £5 voucher I won in a comp.
4. Dashed straight over to cinema for Christmas Eve film tradition. This year it was Mary Poppins. Excellent sequel.
5. Christmas buffet at young friends house. DS1 joined us , which is unusual, and saw some friends who are over from Sweden. First mulled wine of the season.
Have a lovely Christmas Daylove HE x

MERRY. CHRISTMAS 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Hope Santa's 🎅 been good to you all
My five for Christmas Eve were;
1) Made fruit salad laced with Cointreau for a starter today and ate a full dish of it - quality control purposes you understand
2) Finished rest of preparations in the kitchen listening to Christmas music.
3) Watched Carols from King's - a Christmas tradition for me
4) Treated myself to a medallion steak from Lidl for dinner. It's the first time I've ever cooked myself steak - I've always thought of steak as a luxury too expensive for my frugal ways. Well, thanks to the champagne thread I splashed out. It was good but the thought of it was better than the actual thing iyswim
5) Watched Allied on Netflix with Brad Pitt while knitting a cardigan for dgd's birthday and drinking home made Baileys.
Nice end to a lovely day xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

4 Raffles got a treat box and is well sated.
3 Did salmon with fried tattles and carrots, toppled with creamy mushroom sauce. The pud is for later.
2 I’ve hit the mints!
Having one later.
Seasons Greetings all0
