Art'noon - quick catch up from me for last few (many?) days

Birthday day trip to scotland. up on the early train to Glasgow (Kelvingrove and lunch in the Willow tea rooms; haggis for me (real not dog); then to Falkirk for the Kelpies - wonderful, both unlit and then lit; then to Edinburgh for the evening - gorgeous vegetarian restaurant; then back overnight on the sleeper. And I slept - a bit!
4. Got home on Tuesday in time for my webinar delivery - tho nearly got locked out by DS but luckily I could wake him up to let me in.
5. Lovely birthday day - soak in bath with donated bubble bar from DD, watching Death and Nightingales; friend visited with pressie; dinner in town and then other pressies when i got home. WOnderful
6. Finished (almost) the christmas pressie shopping yesterday. I want to buy DS an outfit (jeans, shirt and jumper) and will get that tomorrow. otherwise finito
7. Drinks with former colleagues - the ones who still work there. Got offered a job 4 times...... said 'let's talk in the summer'.

For yesterday
1-5 A really lovely visit to the inlaws yesterday, lots of talk and food and laughter, the animals also helped make them laugh.
For today
6 Today the oven is a lot cleaner that it was, and a bit of the house is as well. Numerous washing loads cycling through rugs, bedding, animal stuff the list goes on.
7 DH is very excited we have arranged to go and see a car at the weekend, I am hoping it’s the next one.
8 Sat with a cuppa and read a book.
9 Fish for dinner.
10 A random role has come up I should hear in that weird in-between bit.
Still feels like a lot to do for festiveness but trying not to worry.0 -
sue sending hugs to you. Keep posting your pleasures here ( and moans and groans too) and it becomes a habit . Somedays you have to look hard for them and other days they abound!
Finished borrowed library book. I was under time pressure to get it back to friend today.
Returned uniforms to work. Don't feel I need to go back (ever!) in a hurry.
New specs. Hurrah and ordered extra spare second pair, half price frames and varifocals free!
Went to see GN in her ice skating show. Won a selection box ( shared & eaten) and a £30 beauty voucher. Niece won £50 and GN a cuddly toy.
Got some lovely very RTC flowers. Dropped a bunch in at a friends 'just because'
Haggis has met his 'girlfriend ' past 2 days which makes him happy.0 -

Good Morning,

2. I have various little gifts and cards. Very thoughtful even though I haven't been there.

Suffolk Sue - I have just been given that book for my birthday. I'm taking it on my hols in January.
So, so sorry for your loss. what an amazing granddaughter being so focussed when she lost her mum so young. My nephew and niece lost their dad at a similar age and it is so hard for them - and, of course for you. Have a hug...
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Cracking on with work - have had to go back to the theory to help me make sense of it all.
2. Yoga - nice gentle class, and there's one on Monday :T
3. My christmas tree and its lights. I do love sparkly lights, I may leave some up when the tree has come down...
4. Getting the washing hung outside in the sunshine
5. OH cooked tea to use up some veg - mixed veg in a cheesy sauce.
Have a great day all - i am off to meet a friend for coffee and to buy the last few things. This is largely a jumper, jeans and shirt for DS - he is desperately in need of some new clothes and is very resistant to getting them. he usually likes what i buy him.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Wishing you all a very Merry Yule, here’s to the days lengthening!
Recent pleasures,
A self imposed small digital detox, worried about increasing habit of just scrolling through so good to just switch off for a while.
Chose and brought home our tree, seats down in the mini :rotfl:
Meal out at favourite Indian restaurant with Capt S, time for just the two of us.
Sunny afternoon yomp with little dog across the racecourse.
Time spent with horse girlie, her summer coat has grey dapples whereas her winter is almost pure white, gorgeous horse.
Needed a haircut and ventured into town of gown, avoided queues and found a parking space, always a bonus.
Seeing DN representing his football club and visiting poorly kiddies in hospital.
A family get together, much laughter and love.0 -
Posting before bedtime.
Got up early. Nice dog walk.
Started pottering around with housework.
'Can you drop me off at college?' Asked DD2 . Really? It's not a college day. Popped into T on way home. May have chatted to several people.
Another nice dog walk.
Went down to optician with DD1. So she's ordered prescription sunglasses for Christmas. My treat.
Popped into Lidl. Got parsnips and potatoes and carrots and sprouts. Was just going to make do with frozen sprouts but at 19p! Also got a lasagne which we all quite like.
Made tablet. For gifting.
Popped up to a friend.
Niece came in for an hour. Made her a bramble and apple crumble to take away ( need space in my freezer) wrapped some more presents for her ( quiet happily)
DD1 kindly bought ice cream at fave place but I actually didn't want a tub of my own but had a few spoons of sons!
Another nice doggy walk and will have to do the night time one as son is heading off to the mountains.
For some reason ( work and holiday) I never got my usual Christmas cards sent in time. So on receipt of two today I've emailed /messaged my usual letter to them! Will keep written card for next year and post on time! Mist got sent just not all.
Girls are chortling away upstairs. Nice to hear it .0
