Dfv - it was your 'social trousers and socks that match' that set & off. & answered smiling enquiry looks by reading it out. Laughter volubly, with matching tales.

Good morning,
& Thank you for real time updates of your latest adventure!
Frith I found Peck Stop was very effective for deterring the bullies from pecking one of our hens. She now has a full set of feathers after about a year of looking very shabbyUnfortunately, not a cheap remedy.
Monday
1. Trip around Tesco held up by trolley. Needed bread and milk. Just about finished me off for the rest of the day
2. Wore one of my Christmas scarfs. I was accompanied by gently tinkling bells all day.
3. Managed to find some tape to make ties for my Christmas apron, so cooked Dinner in full festive outfit!
4. Started to embroider Christmas cushions. May have them finished for 2020 :rotfl:
5. Got an appointment for doggie at the vets for sore ear...... The cone of shame cost £15 and lasted half an hour :rotfl:......I did say not to bother. However, treatment has been miraculous, and was not as expensive as we had feared. Happy dog this morning.
6. Exhausted most of the day, 8 hours sleep, and still woke up exhausted this morning. Pleasure being that I don't have to go to work until Thursday.
Have a lovely day0 -
V Just posted on FaceBuck this moaning about this Friday being the last pay packet of the year and it will be six weeks before you get another one and the credit card bill is due in only five! You can tell the response from the comments! Oh dear! Now just like that tin of two dozen cakes of Jaffa, included in BoP’s lunch box today!, on sale inn the emporiums for a mincely £5! AVOID! Then lo and behold on the media streaming instant stop whatever you were doing news from the sauce, them banks charging extortion for an overdraft as well!
Minds me these days of young Mr Micawber!
‘Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery’
There, proper advice and no bull shine as well.
4 Nows I has already mentioned in my words today that I has cakes of Jaffa in me Lunch Box! They were on offer at the emporium and I got 40 for £2, but they didn’t come in a tin! Also we has cheese, toms and cucumber. Salmon egg custard tart, orange, jelly with orange, strawbs and berries. And a club of mint!
3 BoPsie has bin texting all moaning about being whisked off her feet this FryDay and getting a lift home. Now should I do so? Please give your thoughts, because she has legs and can jolly well walk!
2 Yesterday BoP was inn the gym trimming his readied body for the beach on the Pacific Ocean in only thirteen weeks time. As above about Mr Micawber, this was paid for last Fryday using his hard earned dough. Pain full as he had the taxman to pay as well last weak! Too much money going out! Still deposit account has a magnificent £6 left in it at year end!
Not having one today! Well Raffles, who has been over fed on proper foods and cream since Sundae has decided that his goat and stoat mix this moaning is not for him. Usual rules, I ain’t not going to change his bowl. Besides, how can I at the mill! BoPsie is upset, and will not doubt do so when she gets home, see above!
Now that is all BoP has today0 -
Mhags, a hard but well made decision on the job, well done.
& great to “see” you posting.
For the past few days its been a bit busy
1 A long layin
2 Porridge was lunch and fish will be a very early dinner.
3 Very early dinner as our last sleigh run was last night.
4 Planning in in law visits for the present drop off, all arranged now.
5 Animals loving to travel with us, they were santas polar bears in training.
And today
1 Up early, rest of cards written.
2 Off to look at cars, I nearly rolled around in laughter at them, honestly lying photo’s a classic, this thing had more water on the inside than it did on the out, unloved doesn’t cover it, damaged windscreen, and “badly hidden rust, er no I mean “aging” oh please I think they heard us laughing off site, dh is feeling discouraged.
3 A long journey back home safe and sound.
4 Fish was dinner.
5 Just finished planning when to buy the last of the fresh bits, apparently, I was leaving it too late ops.
Not a pleasure I’ve got a dental problem I am being seen for tomorrow and I’m worried but at least I am able to get something done about the pain.0 -
Raffles, who this morning was well off his goat and stoat, has this evening finished his dish. BoPsie has gone to pieces.
More tomorrow!0 -
Bedtime...at more like my proper bedtime!
Up early...dog vomit first thing! I'm assuming it's a sock. Still not seen it yet!
Went to help wrap charity gifts for a few hours.
Popped into my letter writing friends for a wee visit. She had her grand -dog visiting...so left covered in blonde hairs!
Started a library book.
Aunt and the mother visited.
Nibbled on stuff for tea.
Much nonsense from my daughters . It all got rather noisy ( but funny) so I came upstairs...then so did they!
Was a wild and windy and very wet day!0 -
Struggling to find 5 pleasures at the moment
1 DH arm is starting to heal ,says the surgery nurse ,I will see for myself next week when I take over the dressings for Christmas
2 had a lovely time at Book Group Christmas Meeting ,book was Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine .
Different but I think I enjoyed it ,will read it again to get different nuances .
3Christmas cards finally written, majority already gone 2 nd class but a few unfortunately will have to go 1st
4 saw granddaughter tonight ,took her to dentist and she still wanted me with her ! Again she was complimented on her perfect teeth and brushing skills!
5 she has done extremely well in her mock GCSEs ,her Mum would have been so proud,as are we ,she has v little support from her father and his new partner, but seems so foccussed.
Not pleasures,I am becoming aware I will soon need to reduce my activities and hobbies outside our home ,DH begins to need much more help .
I miss my beloved daughter so much ,it will be 8 yrs beginning of January,Christmas is always bittersweet, she loved it so much .0 -
House Elf - I can't remember the name of the spray I bought - I'll have a look in the morning.
SuffolkSue - I am sorry to hear this time of year is particularly difficult. Glad your granddaughter has done well in her mocks; son2 hasn't got his results yet.
Pleasures for today (Tuesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to a caf! for breakfast, saw bigger son off to college. Smaller son then refused to go to school...
3) Undaunted, I popped to Sainsburys for final, FINAL Christmas present and some milk.
4) Went to stove place for some new stove rope (to seal round the doors). Very helpful chap there. All stove type stuff 3 times the price you expect.
5) Bought the anti-peck spray and bumped into brother in law and small niece buying food for their hens!
6) Took the opportunity to get smaller son in for a haircut.
7) Let the hens run in the allotment for a few hours (all driving, freezing rain from 8 - after tea). Their pen is within the allotment and about 8x5 metres. The allotment as a whole might be 20x10 metres. I've never left the chickens out before as the allotment fence is only just over 1 metre high and the chicken pen fence is 2 metres high. I just thought a good stretch all together might stop the pecking. Put the anti peck spray on Suzy.
8) Spent eons removing the old rope from the 2 stove doors. Glued new rope into place very carefully. Too thick and there was no way those doors were ever shutting again. Got in car (still raining) and drove to get smaller diameter rope. Fitted that!
9) Went to have a cup of tea with my school friend.
10) Brother came round for board games then mum and dad popped in on their way home from folk dancing (they do the music) and we had mulled wine and stollen.0 -
Good Morning Peeps,
Back to work tomorrow......wishing I had taken the offer of being off until January :rotfl:
Sue Hope the healing continues to make good progress.
Tuesday
1. Dashed to MrT for 25% off wine and cashback from a couple of apps for Xmas alcohol.
2. Kept falling asleep all day.
3. Made BBQ pork belly for tea. Could have done with a bit longer to develop the flavours. But very nice.
4. Comp tickets to see Stan and Ollie. Very good. MiL saw them on the actual tour depicted in the film! How cool is that!....... In true MiL style, she was unimpressed. :rotfl:
5. Phone is not working and needs to be returned for an exchange. DH has managed to resurrect an old phone as an interim solution.
Have a lovely day0
