    Pleasures for today (Sunday).

    1) A lie in!

    2) Spent a good 2 hours on the allotment, weeding, digging round the raspberry canes and having an enormous bonfire. 4 eggs from the hens and they had a lovely time digging, checking the new shed was still OK and (while they were out on the allotment, not in their run) two of them GOT OUT and went up the drive!!! The allotment is over half a mile from a road but there are still motors occasionally to the farms.

    3) Tomato soup and cheese on toast for lunch, which was just the job.

    4) Swept up outside and my new neighbour appeared and talked to me about the cat and the state of his house... (perhaps in not such a good state as he thought when he bought it. Anyone who remembers the previous neighbours while not be surprised that the new neighbours are now having to correct many, many shoddy jobs).

    5) Still picking our way round the contents of the shed - presently in the living room - but managed to tidy a bit and do 2 loads of washing. Changed my bed also.

    6) Tea at mum and dad's and a game of Settlers of Catan.

    7) Really enjoyed the start of I'm a Celebrity and made brownies to celebrate.

Looks like the new shed is coming tomorrow afternoon!

Good morning. I was too tired to post my Sunday pleasures.

It was a beautiful sunny day.

I was conserving energy and went back to bed after being up early with dog. May have snoozed.

Work. Started early. It was our last shift ( though I'm working there today) and whilst I've loved it ( mostly) I'll be glad to be home of an evening.

It's been my return to work after a year. It's been working with people again ( I find team dynamics interesting ...some are hardworking, some not so much. Some are chatty, some not so much.) some I'd happily chat with in the supermarket...some I'd rather not! It's been in the most marvellous setting. I've had access to areas others haven't. I've watched beautiful sunsets ( but also stood in lashing rain for 5 hours!)

We were given a bag of chocs at the end of shift and as a non alcohol drinker given an extra bar of chocolate.

Met a few friends last night and managed a few chats with them which was nice. There's not always time to chat.

Hooooome! And a wonderful welcome from Haggis.

Today I need to go back mid morning ( had offered my service) and help with the clear up. Will be a few more hours worth of wages. Whilst I've managed without a wage for a year it's been very nice to get one again!

I've the rest of the week off before I start my next job so I'm full of good intentions!

    Have a great day:)

    Sunday pleasures,

Capt S up early to watch cricket so another mini lie-in for me.

Bacon butties and the Archers omnibus.

Put the brisket in the oven and over to see pony, she was a good girl and it was nice to be out in the sunshine, home to a lovely smelling kitchen.

One eye on the footie whilst reading cookbooks and making lists.

Not strictly what they should have done but cheering when the camera team helped the stranded penguins.

Extra one of limiting screen-time to 1 hour for the day, am aware that I can lose hours just doing stuff so determined to cut down.

    Weekend pleasures:

    1) Having the opportunity to go away to Western Scotland for a break away.

    2) DH purchased his first flat cap. 100% wool outer for his almost bald head. I love it, very smart. He's finally growing up. :D

    3) I'm on with the sleeve for my first knitting pattern design. It's going well but needs tweaks.

    4) to arrive home yesterday evening and being able to wind down infront of the stove.

    5) To have a plan in my mind about how to restock the kitchen cupboards to get more produce stored and being well enough this morning to implement my plan.

Hello everybody  - I've had a couple of days staying with DS2, so not been able to post. Here's mine for the past couple of days:

    Saturday -

    1. Visit from DS1 with DDiL and DGS3. They don't often visit as both work and DGS3 goes to lots of Scouts/Football/Training events that they take him to.

    2. 2 loads of laundry done and put on airers to dry.

    3. Visit from DDiL2 to take me to their house for overnight visit.

    4. Lovely welcome from their boys (17, 10 and 2) - especially the youngster, 'The Bobster' who proceeded to examine my knee to make sure that it's 'getting better' - he's fascinated by my knee replacement scar :rotfl:.

    5. After the youngest was in bed and other two had retreated to their respective 'man caves', chatting with DS2 and DDiL over a bottle of wine before bedtime.

    Sunday -

    1. DS2 and DDiL going off for the day to climb Snowdon, but she had pressed OFF instead of SNOOZE, so the house was in 'panic mode'. Got up to help them get organised and out by 6.00am . Fortunately, no signs of 'The Bobster' until 7.00am - and the other two didn't show their faces until around 10.30 :j!

    2. Experienced the joys of Peppa Pig and Ben&Holly over breakfast with 'The Bobster'.

    3. Began to feel as if I was running a cafe for the day as they all required food at different times . Had promised to roast a chicken, but couldn't handle 'the secret of the new oven'. Tried to light it for absolutely ages, but no luck. Decided to try using the Halogen Oven that I bought them a couple of years ago, but no joy with that either. Decided that the Roast Chicken just 'wasn't going to happen'.

    4. Phone call from DS2 and discovered 'the secret of the new oven' ...................... it's ELECTRIC - plus there's an Isolator Switch on the wall . Also discovered the secret of the Halogen Oven - it's got an an/off switch on the side, that mine doesn't have :doh:. Reverted to the depths of the freezer for evening meal of 'Carrot&Sweet Potato Waffles' with 'Chicken Nuggets' for the kids, while I had a packet of 'Curry Flavoured Savoury Rice'.

5.DS2 and DDiL back home around 5.30 - DS2 to the pub with the other guys who'd done the climb, while DDiL came home to me. Lovely chat over coffee with a 'run through' of the days events and looking over the photos taken on the summit of Snowdon with their Banner.

    6. Back home by 7.30pm - watched Agatha Raisin - in bed by 9.15pm - zzzzzzzzzz.
  • 1) Playing with the boys yesterday, I picked up a pre-loved puppet theatre before we moved, Oh the fun you can have with a range of finger puppets and some inventive dialogue!

    2) They liked the chocolate cup cakes I made.....but not the Bakewell tart (both slightly selective eaters), so 1 out of 2 is good!

    3) Nice dry day today albeit chilly outside so we're going for a nice long walk after lunch to try to blow some of my throat bugs away.

    4) Going to the library this afternoon too so looking forward to some new books to read.

    5) Finalising my proposed food plan for the weekend before Christmas when we're all 10 here together and having the luxury of talking it through with DD1 and getting her assistance of help and approval of the things on offer. Now I can start to cook ahead and fill the freezers so I don't spend much of the 'family time' in the kitchen.....Woohoo!!!
  • V Well back at the mill. We lost our head of steam last weak in the boiler room. No amount of shoveling could keep it up. Laptop was fired. Renewed and here we are back. In case you missed it, BoP has bin awarded another piece of the badge ron this sight/he has bin heres for six years now. Seems a lifetime since TILAMS was put to bed!

4 So you missed out on the fantastic proper foods from BoP, including his packed lunch box. This weak has proper digestives with chocolate, raspberry jelly with oranges, orange, strawbs and berries. Toms and Cucumber, proper wood fired of apple cheese, and pork pie. No emulsions. So good infact last weakened, BoP had double day of snorker and best back. Saturday and Sunday. Had too as we had eggs a plenty and dippy eggs were so last weak!

3 Tea last night was home takeaway, with proper chicken tikka bits and fridge bitsers, with toms and cucumber. The fridgies were done in Oh So Ming sauce and served with sticky rice from the grain. Proper foods with no emulsions. Nows I am often asked why my tikka bits are so different to the ones in the emporium. Simple, the ones inn the emporiums are days oiled muck covered in sugar. Avoid!

Here is BoP recipe, hounded down the generations since time in memorial
Natural Yogut. Add termites, ginger, mint, coriander, cumin, chilli. Squeeze a fresh lemon and add this last with tom puree.
Chop chicken bits up into chunks, and mix together. Get the stainless steel frying pan out and not that plastic coated one! And fry in butter for 8 minutes of a good gas flame. It will make a mess of your pans but BoPsie is used to the burnt on bits. If you used that plastic coated one, it does not come off. AVOID!

2 Dids the xmas bits shop on SatDay after the snorker fest, fixing Raffles flap as he bolted through it on FryDay, thank goodness for superglue! We got the chocs, BoPsie’s Bourbon with honey from real bees. Raffles treats, that guarantee to improve him or your money back! Also got the ham joint as well. Was going to get the xmas treat of the yule log, but they all dated for Dec 10th and will not be seeing the lights go on! AVOID. Got some cakes of Jaffa as they weres on offers, so could be filling my packed lunch box later!

Having one today. #UTM. We has a new star at the Theatre of Fish DD! Ands not only that we has got through in the euro thing tin pot competition as well!

    Inn the wishing well!
