    Pleasures for today (Tuesday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens well - 3 eggs.

    3) Took smaller son to school but he wouldn't go in. I'm not sure this is a pleasure apart from my last email to yet another daft request was very much "go away". Also have got in touch with one of the governors...

Today we have had - yet another day in isolation (hence why he wouldn't go in). Then we had a stroppy text from the attendance officer asking why he wasn't in (when I'd emailed in).

Then I had a sudden email from his old TA who had somehow realised it is smaller son's massive catering BTEC assessment tomorrow but didn't know what he was cooking... Emails were sent all over asking if he could be released from isolation to go this assessment. Grudging replies as though they are doing him some huge favour.

Still not sure what he is supposed to be cooking so he chose fish pie then lemon meringue pie so off I drove to Sainsburys to get all the ingredients. Apparently he has to have a timings break down but he doesn't have one as he has (with half term) had 3 weeks off...

Then a final, peevish little email saying I need to go with smaller son on Friday to a reintegration meeting. A no to that as he hasn't been excluded and doesn't need to "reintegrate". Also he can't talk in meetings as he has selective mutism (why does no one remember this?!) so he will walk out and then get another sanction. That may sound ridiculous but he has been sent home again before for not showing enough enthusiasm in a reintegration meeting...

    4) Ordered various Christmas presents, more hen bedding etc.

    5) Took smaller son to the barbers and one man who has just moved to the town talked to me at great length in the waiting area! In the end we were discussing moustaches as bigger son can't grow one (despite being covered in hair from head to toe apart from his eyes)

    6) Went to floody city and got birthday cards and had a look around.

    7) Big SEN meeting at catering college about smaller son and they will sort out the necessary TA, laptop etc. Then he started saying "When he comes for an interview..." Yes, that won't be happening - or not how you imagine!

    8) Then drove across town to have a cup of tea with my friend.

    9) Curry from the freezer for tea.

    10) Bigger son and I watched Celebrity Hunted.

    11) Bigger son has been chatty all evening and we're going to dismantle my sister's shed tomorrow, have it in our garden and put our tatty garden shed on the allotment.

Awh frith a non touchy hug for you. You must feel so frustrated at times with the bureaucracy of a school that you would think would be slightly more understanding and patient?

I'm sat atop my bed writing. Have been evacuated from downstairs as plasterers are in and sanding down all the stuff they did yesterday ( 3 rooms needing remedial plastering). So the dog and I are listening to the rain ( knowing we will have to go out in it soon. It's lashing down.

    Yesterday.

Son wasn't working till later so he helped me put stuff up in loft. My niece is pregnant (hurrah) so I've a whole load of baby stuff that we got second hand (pram etc) and it's been taking up far too much room in spare room...which is of course to be returned to DD1's room in a few weeks. But I can't even reach the loft even on ladders! So that was a good job done.

Plasterers were here in morning. Very tidy. The head honcho came!

Went a dog walk with Haggis and his old lady ( who is just getting so old and he wants to play and to be fair I think she probably does too but she's just too wobbly for his nonsense. Was a lovely sunny walk. Her owner kindly let him out whilst I was at work ( as son was unusually working late shift)

Posted a book to my great nephew. It was his daddy's then my children had it for years so seems right that it goes back. Mog the forgetful cat.

I had an interview for a job. Went well and to go in for a trial tomorrow morning as much to see whether I like it as they like me. Similar to what I did in Melbourne. I have dreams and aspirations for other things but for now need to do (hopefully) relatively stress free ( I know I shall eat those words!) work that I can walk away from at end of a shift. It's part time , again I don't want full time just now. Feel I need to build myself to that. And as long as I continue to live simply I can manage.

Then it was a dash to other work. With every blooming red traffic light on the way. I live in a town with many traffic lights! Had to change in carpark...so jeans pulled on over wooly tights...and skirt pulled off! Big ( new to me) jumper off, wooly polo neck on over vest top...sorry deer in the deer park who probably couldn't believe their eyes! Then big jumper back on , then work jacket! Good boots off, thick socks on, old boots on to walk to office to get wellies on! By which time I'm boiling as I've rushed and put all these layers on! Needed them later.

Nipped into T on way home for bread ...and saw my moisturiser was almost half price so bought two!

    Home. Dog. Bed.

I have a leaky loo and plumber was supposed to,come at 2pm yesterday. He didn't. So I still have a leaky loo. He'd forgotten. Apparently had had the day from hell...well...sorry and all that but my new loo shouldn't be leaking water! Growling!

    Have a great day :)
  • Your normal nonsense from BoP is not available today. Mill PC has been IT’d. Normal disservice will resume on FryDay
  • My five for today are ;

    1) I've not been out at all today and have really enjoyed just being at home.

    2) I weighed myself this morning and have not put weight on. I'm very pleased with this as i've eaten loads of treats (or should I say rubbish) over the last week.

    3) I've been sewing all day and finished two quilted Christmas stockings. I was watching Christmas films while sewing so very Christmassy

    4) I had leftover macaroni cheese from last night for dinner so didn't have to cook.

    5) I am watching the film "The Goonies" tonight. I bought it from a charity shop and will give it to dgs1 for Christmas if it plays ok. I watched Narnia last week and it stopped playing 10 minutes from the end - who would donate a broken dvd to a charity shop?

I'm expecting my Tesco delivery between 8and 9 tonight xx

PS Olliebeak What can I say? I've never tried pole dancing before :rotfl:
Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order :) )
  • Plumduff: ohh I love christmas films I noticed they are back on a few channels now.

1 Feeling better for an exercise class.
2 A warming soup was lunch, and tasty roast joint was tea, I did it with a treat of roast pots.
3 Re-planning todays plans to tomorrow as DH is feeling very tired.
4 2 more drawers cleared in the office pleased it’s a start.
5 Applied for a few more roles.

In slightly earlier from work than normal, so that was good. Working alongside a nice chatty person. Some are not so much and as a chatty person myself it makes for a quicker shift.

Much rain ( river very high) but dry all evening.

Plasterer labourer came...plaster boss did not. Apparently was coming at 11am to check repair work. Sigh. So everything is still in piles everywhere. Electrician texted to say can I come tomorrow. He needs access where there are piles. Sigh. But I shall have light.

Plumber chap came and fixed the leaky bits. Loo & radiator. Hoping they're both sorted.

Much snuggles with my dog. He was in a very cuddly mood today.

Pleasures for today (still only Wednesday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens well.

    3) Smaller son went to school. Released from isolation, for one day only, to do his catering assessment. We had been misinformed that he needed to cook 2 dishes so all his fish pie ingredients are still at school... The taxi did an emergency stop on the way home and his lemon meringue pie ended the wrong way up on the carpet.

Had a reply to my email about the reintegration meeting which was basically "well, if you don't want it, we won't have one". An a promise to email me today about the restraint episode - no email has appeared yet.

    4) Went to my sister's with bigger son and dismantled the shed. Then we realised it is 6 (or 7) x 8 so far too big to go in or on the top of my car. Sister got extremely tetchy about the panels having to stay in her garden until I can hire a van. I had asked for measurements previously but they were not forthcoming.

    5) Had a sandwich in town with bigger son and had a look for fancy dress for a big party he is going to on Friday.

    6) The museum phoned and I didn't get the job. However, they want to be accredited (which is like a seal of approval) and you need certain niche qualifications to apply for that which I happen to have. I asked if I could do some volunteering for them more in a collections line and I've got to go in for a chat next week. I'd quite like to sit quietly with a cup of tea writing policies and looking at objects again.

    7) Bigger son has gone to games night with my brother and brother in law and I sent him with some brownies. I found a different and more straightforward recipe from the one I've used for 20 years!

    8) Watched Holby.

    Some recent pleasures,

A well know nappy rash cream that not only is treating a sore & poorly dog but also my rope burn, long story involving naughty pony plus a numpty who had left her gloves in her other jacket.

Heading into the vets and little dog was distracted by a string of racehorses walking through town, she must have thought they were very big dogs!

    The beautiful colours of Autumn.

My lovely man is enjoying his new job no end, good to see.

Progress made with eldest DSS, he at least seems to be listening to us now.
