    Pleasures for today (Saturday).

    1) A lie in. Almost too much of a lie in so had to get smaller son up and ready to go to football at top speed!

    2) Had my lunch in Sainsburys after dropping smaller son off. A grey and rainy day so sat in the caf! for a while reading Private Eye - hadn't bought a copy in years.

    3) Hens well and 4 eggs.

    4) Had a mad blitz of the house.

    5) Bigger son reappeared from his Saturday pub job then motorbiked off to the gym and the pub.

    6) Watched a bit of Strictly plus Casualty.

    7) Watched some of MOTD with smaller son. His team lost 2-3 today so are now out of the FA cup :-(

    Good Morning Folks,

BoPVery envious of your trip to Boston. We had a lovely time during our 4 days in the summer. You will need your thermals in December!

Mick Inkpen 'Kipper' books......we had big Home size books and small travel handbag/ changing bag size version.

    Yesterday

    1. DH has put up some of the new blinds. Much swearing and sweating, but they do look nice.

    2. Did a bit more work on renovating DM sewing stool.

    3. DH, DD and DS2 went to visit Grandma...... I went to W8ies

    4. Birthday meal for friends DD.

    5. A few more things listed in EBay while clearing a space for DH to put up blinds in dining room.

Not raining here today :j Have a lovely day :)

    Saturday pleasures,

It rained, for most of the day so pleasure of enforced time indoors but lots of reading done and caught up with some recorded programmes.

Was meant to be meeting hay supplier over the yard for a delivery but his truck had broken down, luckily pony has enough hay left for a few days.

Sourdough toast topped with blue cheese for lunch.

Did go over to see my girlie, she was gently steaming in her stable drying off, she had a couple of windfalls and lots of cuddles.

Happy family news finished the day off well.

For the past couple of days.

    1. My parcel arrived yesterday. I waited in all day on Friday for it. It didn't arrive and when I phoned was told as I wasn't in. When I received the parcel the label on it said couldn't access the road due to parked vehicle. Strange bin men in their lorries managed to empty both recycling bins at around the same time.

    2. Met a friend for coffee yesterday. Had a walk round the free garden again.

    3. House is tidy and all ironing done as I couldn't go out on Friday.

    4. DS2 played rugby without injury. Always good.

    5. Went to rugby. We lost but much better game throughout the 80 minutes rather than last 10 minutes. It was cold as a 7.30 start for American tv.
  • My 5 for yesterday are :

    1. As it was a nice day and had nothing planned, I decided to nip along to Argo$ to collect my new prop and frying pan, instead of leaving them till today. £3.25 left on Gift Card, so put it towards a £9.99 set of earphones, just to clear the card :j!

    2. Visit to Mr T's to check out any yellow stickers. Roast-in-the-bag Chicken (£2.50 instead of £5.00) which was cooked for evening meal :D. Half-price Gluten Free Pizza - cut into two halves/clingfilmed/frozen :). Half-price Lavazza 'Barista style' coffee :D.

    3. Freebie coffee in Costa (courtesy of points) and first Gluten Free Mince Pie of the season :j!

    4. Lovely evening meal of chicken, pots, carrots, green beans, gravy - OH highly delighted at being spared from 'yet another salad' :rotfl:.

    5. Couple of hours of TV and playing a Word Game on my Kindle :j! In bed before midnight.
  • Woodburners. Make sure your chimney has the correct liner, too many have been fitted insorrectly. Wood needs to burn hotter and as such, any devris in the chimney can cause problems!

V Got the Grimsby smoked haddock and will be turning into kedgeree soon, proper food and good for you. Served with toms. Strawbs will also be wolfed down.

4 Has done the fruit mix for the cake and pud. Now swimming inn bourbon. 8oz of Currants, Sultans and Raisins, 2 oz chopped cherries and mixed peel for the cake! 4 oz of Currants, Sultans and Raisins, 2 oz mixed peel, Will soak for two weaks before being turned into proper cake and pud.

3 So I was in the emporium this morning as I had to get the bits inn for the cake and pud, and I must say the tack is in £30 for crackers, made in China! Avoid.

Remember to avoid the evil. Ask yourself why we waste land to grow pumpkins yet people are starving?

    PM2DD Wes on a roll #UTM

Having one later, down inn the Bridge!

The challenge is over, here we come!
  • We've bought from a good reputable company BOP they installed DD1s little Morso stove when she moved up to her new job and they'll do a good job on ours too, we have confidence in them.

    1) A bright and sunny day, cold in the morning and cooling rapidly now but for most of it a golden Indian Summers day.

    2) DD1 and James came for lunch, the menfolk did things with wiring and got the small TV working in the conservatory and have moved landline phones to where we want them not where the phone plug ins were when we arrived.

    3) Cooking a proper meal which gave me so much pleasure BPO would approve we had stewed steak with mashed potato and steamed broccoli followed by a home made ginger treacle steamed pudding and homemade custard Mmmmmm was yummy!

    4) DD and I had a lovely walk in the sunshine after lunch through the village and round the lake most pleasant.

    5) We have recorded rugby to watch this evening, Toulouse v Agen which ought to be a good game, love the Ballon oval!

Rained all day :D but I did not have to go out :T

Knitting a new baby blanket - with wool bought by DSis :T She had watched me knitting last week so thought she might like to knit BUT then decided she doesn’t actually enjoy knitting :rotfl:

DSis cooked shepherds pie - a bit bland but a dash or three of Worcestershire sauce & it was lovely. She cooked enough for tonight’s dinner :T

Finished watching another recorded series :)

Strictly - watched The Minions jive & The Matrix Paso Doble several times - my favourite 2 dances of the series so far :D + I have kept the recording so I can watch them again :rotfl:

    DSis saw 3 foxes :D but I only saw 2 :(

Sky was so so clear last night that regardless of the light pollution I saw at least 3 dozen stars :T

    SUNDAY pleasures

A gloriously bright & sunny day - quite warm at times but oh so chilly the rest of the time :)

Walked to sm past the dock & fed the water birds - 5 crested grebes, several coots, loads of Canada Geese, many mallards & the white swan accompanied by a juvenile swan ;)

Managed 201 bits of litter BUT not from the usual place :D The rubbish tip that is usually at the bottom of the concrete steps leading from dockside to main road was COMPLETELY CLEAR :T
(Not even a leaf :rotfl:) I do not have the vocabulary to describe how elated I was - I even took a picture :rotfl: Instead I decided to clear a large area of grass border on the main road :rotfl: - cans, plastic bottles, little metal canister thingies, glass bottles, crisp packets & so many bits of plastic & paper

    No cooking tonight :T

Heating on so nice & cosy :D

DH’s grass seed is finally showing signs of life :T after 3 weeks :rotfl:

DH’s eye is continuing to improve.

I have to add it again as a pleasure - the absolute joy of seeing a clean & litter free set of steps :rotfl:

The anticipation of the new Doctor Who :)
