Mine for yesterday.
1. Good drive to work and surprisingly quick as a road was closed.
Listening to podcasts on the journey.
2. Pleased I work at the other end of the department to a fire door that beeped until lunch time when the battery was changed in it. It was driving people mad. It did mean that people had to come and see me to get away from the noise!
3. Spent time in the garden and planted some roses that DH had dug up from his Mum's house on Sunday. Hopefully they will survive.
I was helped by a hen too.
4. Text messages with an old friend. She sent a photo of an old bottle of wine.
5. DS2 cooked tea bangers and mash with a red wine onion gravy. It was delicious.0 -
My five for yesterday
1) Had the morning in my sewing room - I have gotten out the habit since my recent holiday in Australia. It felt good to get back to normal.
2) Did some batch cooking with the leftover chicken from Sunday. Made 4 portions of chilli chicken, 5 portions of potato and leek soup and 1 chicken breast that are now in the freezer except one soup that I shall have today.
3) I researched a day out for tomorrow when two Australian friends are visiting. I was amazed to see that they have all the Outlander programmes on Netflix over there so I am taking them to several of the Outlander locations tomorrow.
4) I watched Dr Who on the iPlayer - very promising.
5) I added a dvd to the bag for the charity shop. It cost me 20p from the car boot on Sunday and was absolutely the worst Sci Fi I have ever seen - so bad I stopped watching after half hour. But who knows someone may enjoy it :rotfl:
It's a horrible wet morning here - hope it brightens for my walk at one xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Monday pleasures,
Tackled Mount Ironmore looking out over the fields and admiring the colours in the hedgerows.
Made bread, half wholemeal and half spelt.
Plans made for lunch out next week.
Watching an old b&w film and eating bread and jam.
Giving my girlie a good groom and catching up with one of the other owners.
Also watched Uni Challenge and then Old People’s Home for 4 year old.0 -
Morning
- my 5 pleasures:
- Lovely sunny day and the late roses and sunflowers and the garlic chive flowers are making the garden look so lovely
- My new apple tree also looks good now it's been planted
- The dogs' determination to eat the little hard pears on the weeping pear tree is very cute - although they're trampling the plants below, so the time may have come to pick the remaining pears and spoil their fun :rotfl: - I just wish it was a 'proper' pear tree so I could eat them too :rotfl:
- My spring onion seedlings are getting bigger so I'm getting less worried about them being trampled
- one of my Christmas cactuses has buds on - tad early, but looking forward to the stunning flowers0 -
My five for yesterday -
1. Bright but cold morning, so wore fleece jacket with 'waterproof outer' in my shopping bag just in case.
2. Managed to get Shuttle Bus Service to meet DD at her local hospital for her appointment. Arrived a bit early, but bumped into BiL/SiL with DGniece who I haven't seen for ages ...................... had lovely 'family reunion' in Hospital Costa till DD and DGS1 arrived :T. Great catch up with family news - as I'm divorced from exOH, I refer to his family as my 'outlaws'but I get on really well with them all (apart from ex) :rotfl:.
3. DD's appointment went well, but took ages (I DID warn her that it might do that) - so had to leave her there, waiting for Bloods to be done, to take DGS1 for his Dental Appointment. He had temp filling done and was very good about it ........................... didn't give any trouble at all - he knows better than to play up with ME around!
4. Took DGS1 for lunch before his appointment - he managed to eat a Cheese Toastie through his gap in his front teeth (can't wear his false front teeth due to broken filling at the back of his mouth, as it's the tooth that the falsies clip onto). Life is one long catastrophe from start to finish with him
!
5. He got off the bus as we passed his home, so I didn't have to break my journey home ............... it had been a very long day. My GP wonders why I've got High BP .
6. Lovely evening meal of HM Soup and Roast Chicken/Salad Sandwiches  and an early night - after my soaps, of course!

V There’s me this morning pulling up the drawbridge, ripping up my cards and cancelling all my direct debits on hearing the news on FaceBuck that some kind persons were trying to friend me. Now I has only just got this and it was a hoax. Never! Oh well, FaceBuck, you can detect the gullible quite easily!
4 Not only that, but the cheese on toast parlour pushed through my letter box yesterday exciting offers with 50% off! No, I don’t want to spend £40 or more with you, such a waste of food! And I forgets, it was free delivery!
3 So we had Nasta Pasta instead. Raffles is off his foods at the moment, well not off, just will not eating when we watch. He’s is funny!
2 Watched the speedway last night as well.
Having one today. SF Body trimming went well last night!
That ends today’s Life of BoP ditty!0 -
TODAY is the 3rd anniversary of my retirement. My official date was the 20th but I had annual leave to take before then. My pleasures today are the things I enjoy most about being retired :T
1) No bosses telling me what to do when I know better
2) Spending all day, every day doing the things I love doing
3) Staying tucked up in bed when I have a cold or am feeling under the weather
4) Being able to stay cosy inside my warm home when it's snowing and icy outside
5) Being free to meet friends and family anytime I like
6) Being able to go on holiday at short notice and take advantage of cheap deals
7) Driving less and using my free bus pass :rotfl:
8) Being there for my family whenever they need me
9) Knowing that this is for the rest of my life :j
I can't believe it's 3 years since I retired but can honestly say it's been the best 3 years ever xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Hello! I'm back and in my own bed after a couple of nights at my sisters, sleeping on a camp bed doodah!
In no particular order :
Hugs with my sister. I found the trip very emotional for a variety of reasons.
Hugs with my 4 day old great nephew. Just perfectly perfect.
Walks and walks and more walks. She lives near the beach. Nephew lives near parkland.
Much laughter.
Nice food.
Stunning Autumn colours. Just amazing.
My cats! My sister looked after them when we emigrated. The first time I've seen them in 8 years. The girl cat took one look at me , growled and swiped a paw at me...'take that for abandoning me ' she's never done that with anyone! Has loved me since. The boy cat and I sat on the garden bench yesterday and had a very one sided conversation but he was good company. He's a funny boy. My sister was not laughing when he walked up the newly concreted ramp! Paw prints the full length!
A bagful of veggies straight out their veg patch.
Home and the decorator has been here last 2 days so much smell of paint. He's back in tomorrow. My staircase wall has been papered and I love it. It's a navy colour with tiny catkins on it. Lift the carpet I asked of the boy child...yes, that will be the top landing and not the stairs! Underlay covered in dusty/ sandy stuff...did no one think to sweep/ vacuum? No. I didn't know if it was meant to be there said DD2 . Sigh!
We were lucky and had dry though very blustery weather. It's been lashing here.
Friend kindly popped in and let Haggis out mid morning. Thank you muchly.
The familiar sounds of workmen ! Sister getting work done ( ramp at back door) and through the wall getting renovated...hammer, hammer, drill, drill.
It's good to home. Grateful for my niece driving and for GN fun and not too many 'are we there yets?'0 -
hmmm one of the dogs has decided to have an intermittent limp
1) taking him for a walk he was fine the first half, then insisted mrpiano carried him home. good for me i had mrpiano with me :-)
2) mrpiano carried him upstairs and put him on my bed. woke up to a wet bed - nooooo. sorry, still can't think of a good side to that one! bed scrubbed, sheets washed, duvet hanging on line. may treat myself to a new duvet! oh yes, good news, dd2 took him to the vet (kerching) and it's a sprain so he's got pain killers but nothing more expensive than that
3) almost managed to examine whole of MD. 19 pages left for tomorrow. would have finished but had 5 people interrupt me. good news is i don't have 3 meetings hanging over me from the 3 who needed something sorted
4) then off to minister's farewell. she's off to the refugee camps in france. amazing woman
5) catching up with your news. have to confess to a smirk at cat paws in the concrete mhags night all xxxMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Quick pleasures for today (Tuesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Took smaller son to school as I was going into town anyway.
3) Hair appointment at 9.15 in bigger son's college. I watched him pull up and park his motorbike! Haircut good. Also saw former pupil I looked after at high school who looks very jolly now he's at college.
4) Hens OK and 3 eggs.
5) Did various jobs and made a casserole.
6) Went to see my school friend but she couldn't make it as she had to take her aunty to hospital. So I popped into Homesense then drove home.
7) After tea roasted half the chestnuts that my brother collected for me.
8) My school friend phoned.
9) Watched the Island and First Dates Hotel with bigger son.
10) Smaller son filled in his part of his annual SEN review tomorrow. "What could school do for you?" was one of the questions. He's written "Make me a nice cup of tea"...0
