  • How exciting MrsLW:) Can I be nosy and ask what part of the country you are moving to?

    Thursday pleasures

The sun was out nearly all day :T but with a nice cooling breeze which got the washing dry :)

    Nice chat with neighbour

Actually getting off my a*se & doing some housework & a bit of decluttering :rotfl:  my mojo was in top gear (for me :D) today

DH discovering that only one very small area of the shed base is not quite level :T

Phone call from surgery offering me a health check & explaining what it entailed :T - apparently offered to ladies over 40 :D who have no underlying health problems :) I loved that it was over 40 & not over 50 :rotfl:

    Squirrel parkour :rotfl:

  • Gloucestershire which is such a beautiful county and we're off to a little sleepy market town with a lovely little high street in the middle of some very verdant and fertile farmland right on the edge of the Cotswolds, lovely old churches, lovely walks, independent shops it's so comfortable and the new house is nice and in a quiet no through road too. Going to be quite a change from here which is technically a village but is very large and sprawling and holds many people. We shall have a nice time exploring and finding new places to love to replace those we'll be leaving behind here, I'll particularly miss the Weald and Dpwnland Open Air Museum over in Sussex and the Hillier Arboretum at Braishfield near Romsey both places dear to my heart.

Not too far from my neck of the woods, MrsLW.

Pleasures for today (Thursday - hoorah!)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) My old school friend came round to change the kitchen lights and fit an outside light. Not seen him since 1991! Very interesting to catch up and find out where various friends had got to.

    3) Hens well - 2 eggs.

    4) Nice to switch on 6 spotlights instead of a decades old weird strip light thing that meant every task you did in the kitchen you had to manoeuvere yourself out of your own shadow!

    5) Bigger son went to town with the Girl Who is Not His Girlfriend.

    6) Smaller son absolutely hates the last day of term so often misses it (especially as it is half a day). Today he forgot to hand in his cheque and reply slip for a school trip so he has to go tomorrow!

    7) Just watered the pots and our frog is still living in the large thyme pot!

    8) Have just tidied up the plaster dust and bits and just got to wait for the plasterer on Monday to skim over the "rustic" artex kitchen ceiling now. It is the very last bit of the house to be replastered. When we moved in, every single surface had been artexed by someone who wasn't a plasterer so it was like living in a cave and you could scratch your arms if you brushed past any of the walls - ghastly!

ETA - the stars tonight! No porch and fir tree felled so I can now stand on my step and see half the sky. This will be useful for the Perseids in a couple of weeks.
  • Me thinks that Ms LW is heading east of BoP Palais. Where big Warster train runs, but BoP gets off four stops from Warster in Stonehouse?

    It's been a lovely day here, OH's birthday .

Baked and baked . My friends daughter came and helped. But will need to make better meringues tomorrow !

Nice doggy walk. He's so hairy just now . Was going to buy a 'furminator' brush but remembered that mum had one for our old dog. I have filled two vacuum cylinders with what's came off him this evening. Hairy beast.

May have snoozed when there's much to be done. Cut the grass I'd intended to do an hour earlier!

Gazebo back up but cushions need brought in off sofa as ist to rain overnight.

DN &GN popped in. We lit a candle on a teeny tiny cupcake and sang happy birthday and she blew the candle out for her great uncle.

Went for dinner. We were half way there and I relaxed I'd left my phone with bank cards in it. Reckoned I should have enough cash. They did a special 3 course menu. I had pate, then lasagne and managed to squeeze in some lemon cheesecake. stuffed but every mouthful enjoyed.

Popped into mums on way back to borrow a pasting table ( to have an extra surface for our garden party) and the hairy dog brush.

My passionflower has its first bloom. It's such a beautiful plant. We had one in our previous garden and I must have left it.

The boy child has located the hidden tablet so I shall have to relocate it! Turns out they've both been looking for it! Rascals!

Howdy again, it's time to find pleasures.

1 In an answer to prayers, my brother and I have accepted an offer on my father’s house, to what seems like a couple who are absolutely in love with the place who want it they reckon for the next 30 odd years.
2 The fridges are run down here for several reasons, they have been useful, it’s nice to have some spare space for once. Just in time for foraging, 3 drawers now available.
3 Dosing up on vit c as I seem to be fighting something.
4 I am surprised how well the hydrangeas are coping with the weather.
5 Deep cleaning the kitchen today, the fridge is all done, the boiler is done, and the window is done, just the floor left to do - tomorrow now.
6 Our little ill animal is still enjoying life 21 weeks on from his 3 days diagnosis.
7 A big bag of weeding achieved, a mowed lawn and all a bit tidier. We need to pick up some more plants, we are however thinking of picking up some of dad’s plants from his garden in memory of him to embed into ours.
8 DH washed and polished my car from all the tree sap and its presentable and shiny again.
9 Last part of a batch cooked turkey mince was be dinner from the freezer of course, and a surprise freezer tetris which uncovered 2 slices of coffee walnut cake, only lasted as we didn’t know it was there.

    Good Morning,

BoP Stonehouse is beautiful. Had a student at William Morris college, so got to visit once a year. :)

    1. Awake very early again...........Watered the plants, moved some pots.

    2. Making headway with big task at work.

    3. Stopped off at Mr T on the way home for coleslaw. Found lots of rtc fruit and veg. Will need to be used before hols.

    4. Made lasagne for tomorrow.

    5. Gave DS1 lift to work and popped into to Mr M for B&Q gift card. Used Morrison’s Fiver to pay. Ordered garage shelves using gift card. (£5 off plus extra M points earned ;) ).

    Have a lovely day :)

    1. Friend had his surgery and it went well. Hospital didn't tell us very much and wouldn't confirm he was having his surgery. All that was said was he hasn't come back to the ward.

    2. Texts from DS1. He is still busy at work which he realises is good for him.

    3. Enjoyed walk to bus. Met lots of dogs.

    4. Chat with neighbour.

    5. Drink in garden with DH.

Looking forward to my holiday next week. We leave on Thursday.
  • Not far from Stonehouse BOP bit further up and a bit further west but only a little bit! So looking forward to a new start and new horizons.....He Who Knows is looking forward to Stowford Press Cider and regular trips to the rugby! he's a sensible boy!!!
