    Friday pleasurss,

Over to see horse girlie, couldn’t decide what to do so did nothing but groom her in her field, she shouldn’t feel that my turning up always means work and it was lovely to just watch her grazing and interacting with her horsey pals. Think she was bit confused to start with but quickly got back to the important job of grazing, only stopping now and again to come & blow kisses on my face.

Back home and window cleaner had been, sparkly panes and he had understood instructions to find money under the horseshoe :D

A better day cricket wise, watched a bit on tv but the sun coming out was enough to drive me out into the garden for book reading, dozing and bird watching.

Evening stroll with small dog and the continual battle to keep her out of the fields, too much of our money has gone to the vets in previous summers for the removal of grass stalks from spaniel ears.

GW, lovely Monty and all things horticultural.

    Morning happy Saturday :)

1 ^^ I've got GW recorded so I've still got it to watch :)

2 Benefit of waking up at stupid o'clock - managed to catch loads of slugs and snails in the act of eating my seedlings and see them off

3 Got the whole day to try and bring some order to the garden

4 Found a bag of cashews behind the lentils which i missed in my store cupboard stock-take

5 OH might actually phone the bank to sort out a 0% balance transfer today and cancel Sky today (fingers crossed !!)

Hello. It was daylight at 4am. Ask me how I know. Haggis dog has shown no after effects of vomiting all over his bedding and back door mat...an expanse of flooring that would have been easier to clean but no...washing machine on at 4.05am

Doggy walk with his ladies first thing. Got very warm very quickly.

Was supposed to go to Glasgow but my travelling companion was still in her bed till yon time!

So I cut the grass. I cannot believe how quickly it grows. It was always look so much better. Planted up some passion fruit and lavatera and lavenders I'd bought through the week.

Oh, I almost set the kitchen on fire this morning. If grilled bacon and then thought I'd grill some pineapple ...whoosh! Flames jumping out at me! Throats still sore from the acrid smoke. But at least it was put out . Lovely bacon sandwich though ;)

Made a pasta dish that I had for lunch and then again for tea ( with melted cheese on top) . With peas, onions, spring onions, tomatoes, red pepper, mushrooms, bacon. 2 eggs mixed with Greek yoghurt and then mixed through. Add pasta. It was so tasty.

    Nice afternoon doggy walk.

Then went to my mothers. Her house is very untidy again. It's so disheartening.

Walked down to T and got a RTC orchid for my ensuite and a very cheap bunch of sweet Williams that are on my garden table. Oh and a mouldy loaf of bread that will need to go back! And poo bags...we went in for poo bags!

Just enjoyed my tea. Birds are singing. It's very clammy and I see a storm is forecast. Will be good for the gardens ( though might make the grass grow quicker :) ) and clear the air.

ETA an extra doggy walk with a friend who just happened to be passing. Her dog is nit one bit interested in a big playful Labrador. She may have nipped his ankles a few times!

Planted lettuce, radishes and gourds in the veg planted. Gave them a good water in and then the rain started.

Nipped back to T and got my 34p back!

    Night :)

    Pleasures for today (Saturday).

    1) A lie in.

    2) Hen OK.

    3) Took smaller son to the park in the nearest town where he spent several hours at a "fun day" with his friends.

    4) The tree men came! A very exciting afternoon watching them out of the window (did a time lapse film, which I'm very proud of). It is down now and you can see out of the upstairs windows and it is light downstairs! Have been pottering round the garden, enjoying the view.

    5) My brother popped in to watch the first half of the football with bigger son. Then he and dad went on to nearby village to watch Dennis Taylor talk about snooker. Brother impressed with the lack of tree.

    6) Watched Casualty then caught up with Gardeners' World.

    7) Made beef tagine for the freezer.

    Saturday pleasures,

Lazy start with a lie-in followed by boiled egg and marmite soldiers.

A real cba day so just pottered away most of the morning, I did clear all the weeds out from between cracks in garden path, horrid job but always pleased with how it looks once finished.

Watched the Derby, as often happens with horses, the experts were shown up as the favourite came nowhere. I enjoy the spectacle but see far too many horses come out the wrong end of the industry to be a real fan.

The can’t be bothered attitude continued and we had a cheeky takeaway meal.

Watched 2012 film, nothing like a mass extinction film to make you sleep soundly :D

    Back is much better.

    1. Met a friend for coffee and had a long chat. She is collecting her new puppy next week.

    2. Had a look round garden centre with her and didn't buy any plants or seeds. I did buy some weed killer for bindweed. Digging it up isn't working.

    3. Enjoyed rest of day in garden. Pottering and drinking coffee and reading my book in the sun.

    4. Enjoying the smell of a room diffuser even if DH and DS2 aren't.

    5. Washing dried on the line. Two loads as well but now need to iron it.

I LOVE Top Banana - took me while to get into the mindset of just making any words, and not wasting time looking for great long clever ones with high value letters, but its one of my favourite games now :).

    Today:
1 the dawn chorus is deafening (and lovely)
    2 its a gorgeous day
3 the 3 hours a spent yesterday weeding and decluttering have made my borders look great
4 I had a fish pie ready to cook in the freezer so no time spent cooking today - more garden time!
5 most of my roses have flowers fully out now - gawjus!
