    Monday pleasures:

Lovely doggy walk first thing with H & his old lady. She ran up to us this morning so happy to see us.

Made new table up. I hate instruction manuals and Alan keys! Had to wait till son came home from climbing mountains till it was ready to use. Just needed tightened.

Decorator popped in . Going ahead with living room decor. People have said don't do it, wait till your works done. That will be end of September. And I actually would quite like a nice room! So he's coming on Wednesday to make a start.

Was out in garden for a while but it was actually too hot and came in. Dozed on sofa for a bit.

Finished library book this morning and started next one. I've not really read how I'm reading in about 16 months so it's nice to want to go straight onto the next book.

Son getting home safely. He's spent weekend climbing in highlands. Whilst of course he's his own person he is just so his father's son! Was attacked by midges! Apparently his Australian mosquito net wasn't enough!

Pleasures for the 26th to 28th

Three gloriously hot & sunny days with an occasional refreshing breeze

Storm Saturday night - spectacular lightning display, deep rumbling thunder & a heavy downpour which made Sunday morning pleasantly fresh :)

Getting up earlier than DH & DSis & having a peaceful cuppa sitting in the garden - I am getting more antisocial in my old age - I just like to pootle at my own pace :rotfl:

Bacon sarnies for DH & DSis - their pleasure was palpable :rotfl:

No cooking until this evening - roast pork with really nice crackling, roast potatoes, roasted carrots, cauliflower & broccoli, petit pois & DH made proper gravy - NOT a granule in sight :rotfl: DELICIOUS

Being entertained by birdsong & squirrel antics :rotfl:

Tonight was looking forward to a storm but only a bit of lightning, a few thunder claps & about 50 drops of rain - the storm completely bypassed us BUT the pleasure is that it has cleared the air & it is now pleasantly cool.

Washing up done & will be put away before bed :)

    Summer bedding on bed :D

DH delighted with his summer motorcycle jacket :D - I do like to see him happy :)

    Reading other people’s pleasures.

Wishing you all a good night’s sleep

    Pleasures for today (Monday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Lost 3lbs last week. I've gone from 13 stones 6 to 12 stones 1 so far this year.

    3) A brother and mother of Frith escapade nearly went badly wrong. The right trains weren't running from Birmingham so they had to dash to Coventry (on a bus) then get a train to London then run to St Pancras where (following lots of phone calls en route) the Eurostar was waiting for them and they were waved through and let on! They are in Paris now, for the tennis.

    4) Dropped bigger son off in town to see his friends then took bricks (from the old porch) to my sister's and chatted to her, my niece and the hens.

    5) Took smaller son to Ikea for tea then a new (longer) bunk bed, candles and an orchid.

    6) Just watched 24 Hours in Police Custody with bigger son.

    7) Going to bed now for Just a Minute.

    Good Morning,

BoP Good shot! I have become very keen on flamingos since we went to Miami. ( I have to be careful not to buy all the flamingo pattern stuff at the moment, as I do not want to be featured on local news, as the little old lady and her collection of 5000 flamingo patterned ornaments :rotfl:).

    Another Grand Day Out yesterday......

    1. Bacon butties for breakfast.

    2. Bletchley Park for the day. (Xmas present from friends). It was also their 1940’s weekend, so lots of people dressed up. Live music and dancing. Vintage stalls and of course.......geeky science and computing history :j

    3. Remenicing.........When I was student, I did a sandwich Year at ADAS in Newcastle. The site was an old military base. The labs where we worked were the same design as the huts at Bletchley.

    4. Afternoon Tea in the Mansion House. (Part of our present). Sat in the bay window, so people watching could continue.

    5. Ticket is valid for a year, so we have left some things to see next time.

    6. Did the whole journey in the electric car. (DH drove, so I snoozed :o).

    7. M&S burgers for tea courtesy of Sparks offer.

DH has another day off today, so we have a list of stuff to do. Looking forward to Wednesday, when I am hoping for a ‘Me’ day :rotfl:

    Have a lovely day :)

Went away to Cornwall for a few days.

1.Went by train and hired car and all journeys were good and uneventful.

    2. Looked round a few gardens and walked miles. With a combination of Tesco voychers, national trust membership and also Kew membership and with gardeners world 2 for 1 only paid £7 entry over the 4 days we were there.

    3. Saw a friend's son in Plymouth who we hadn't seen for about 5 years. It was good catching up.

    4. Good food in majority of places. Lots of fish which I love. A couple of cream teas had to be eaten.

    5. Lovely few days with DH.

I was so confused there til I realised you meant sheets and duvet covers not petunias and geraniums :rotfl: - think I may just be becoming a bit plant obsessed :o

I've just started a subscription to GW, the 2 for 1 card looks really useful :).

Morning all - my 5 happy things :
1 Watched Car Share last night, lovely. Not sure why they waited a whole year to show it but lovely to see a happier ending :)
2 Managed to cut up the whole kippers I bought and they were lovely in a fish pie with only a few tiny soft bones left
3 My dwarf sunflowers are still there and no slugged or snailed :)
4 I did my store cupboard inventory yesterday - amazing how much stuff you can pile into a cupboard that's only about 18 inches wide, and I've got so much to use up :):)
5 My foxgloves are out and the roses have big fat buds on them :):)

:T on the weight loss Frith.

    Monday pleasures,

A tad misty and murky to start with, managed to get some gardening done in the relative cool.

I am going to a Northern Soul dance workshop in a few weeks so tuned into the NS radio station and had a dance around the kitchen.

By lunchtime it was hot and sunny again so alfresco lunch under the parasol.

Over the yard and gave lovely girl a bath, enjoyable thing to do on a hot, sunny day and end result was a pristine, white horse.

Muggy evening so windows left open but lights off to prevent wee beasties coming in and just the candles alight on hearth.

Cannot believe that BoP was locked out. Not of the mill, the forum!

Proper stuff and no nonsenses. Loads of bacon banjos. Need to beef them up with a squirty egg! Proper stuff!

XL Has to be said, it was about this time anyway! Forty years since the bored allowed BoP to get into the apprenticeship scams! Only lasted 18 months because it was cut short and the rest is BoPiness! As we had bin at the college to 2 years, the refractory concert that December was well attended. Those over 18 were asked to leave. I can still see JL’s face telling all to let that be a lesson! Don’t know what he did with the letter to the Principal! Still play the album!

4 Back lighting the fires at the mill. Packed a lot into the lunch box today. Bourneville, Club, Snorker roll, salad!

3 Serious Puppy Fat. Well done Friths, BoP normally loses 25 pounds every FryDay! Seriously need to be inn the Bridge, no Gym tonight. Anderby Creek postponed UFN!

2 Now as I has mentioned inn the past that we need wobbleade chits, well today BoP is having to smash his piggy bank and pay for his holiday to Washington and the Apple of Big! So please think of BoPsie and her house keeping!

Having another one today! Inn the boiler room we have a window on the world, unlike the other inn the satanic place. We are able to see across the brook, we do actually have one, and into the car park of the new lot. As mentioned earlier, and by thirst gaffer. Don’t come to work in an expensive car as I will think you’re paid too much. I would not use them!

On your way now and BoPiness will be back tomorrow!

Again BoP has said it till he is blue in the face!
