Not a pleasure but a pleasure he’s here at the moment, Rhubarb took a very bad turn, we stayed up with him and took him to bed with us on a fleece, somehow, he’s perked a little, he’s been wanting food so we’ve given him a little every hour, don’t get me wrong I know they also perk up before “going”, but he does seem a little perky at the moment.
The lergy has hit the house after DH thought ohh we’ve escaped the usual lergies so one arrived, so far it’s the usual head, throat, chest yuck, enough to get the chicken soup underway again
There’s been re jigged food planning for health and ease.
Wandered around the garden with a watering can, I couldn’t help but notice rather a lot of flying ants, harmless I think but going all over the animal tubes

I’m having an early ish night.
Out early for our trip to CP. Traffic much lighter when we went at that time.
Short doggy walk. A 20 minute swim (set timer) a quick walk and then home with my wet cossie on.
A very quick hoover of car ( still with wet cossie on) and topped up water. Quick chat to neighbour still with cossie and swimming pool hair 😆
And then I had a shower and washed my hair. Ready for work and off I went. Was absolutely roasting.A lovely service. And was kindly invited back to the tea ( I knew them) so that was nice.
Home to DD2 and The Baby who were keeping the dog boy company, he’s a bit limpy tonight.
Baby bathed in the sink and bedtime stories read before they went home.
Had a wee bowl of cereal there as I’d eaten at the hotel so didn’t need a meal.Sun has been shining all day so I watered the back garden.

Morning all.
Back from our travels, just in time before the next heatwave drives us indoors again!
Recent pleasures:
- A lovely, if busy and exhausting, trip away with little fella. Chocolate was made - and eaten of course - at Cadbury World and outer space was explored at the National Space Centre. Diffenrent days but both very enjoyable.
- As always, lovely to be back home, feeling very lazy doing minimal cleaning and cooking but lots of reading and pottering. I'll fettle it when (if) the weather cools down a bit.
- A Level results for middle grandson tomorrow. Not too much pressure as he is probably having a gap year. He is currently working nights at his temporary job and once he gets his results will have a look at his options and decide what to do.
- Little fella decided he wanted his 'well done on finishing 'little' school and getting a brilliant report' money investing in Premium Bonds. Blimey, it's like jumping through hoops investing on behalf of someone under 16 but all documents eventually authorised and they've sent us a lovely gift card to give him. He's looking forward to winning the £million prize (as are we…).
- Few days at home now and luckily it looks like it will cool down considerably before our next few days away at the weekend. Just us two this time, off to Hertfordshire and three NT/HH properties we have been looking forward to for ages.
Right, sat in my glamorous dressing gown with hair pack and face pack trying to undo the ravages of time but starting to feel a bit like they are ready to be taken off now to reveal the sprightly young thing I know is hiding under there somewhere. Coffee is made and phone has just pinged with a WhatsApp from my brother so I'm off.
Stay cool whatever you are up to today.

Good morning. Yes, it's hot again! Started early and finished housework, including bed change, before it gets too hot to do anything. So now I can lounge about.
D Doll - so sorry to hear how stressful work is currently. It used to be so clear you absolutely loved your job. I do hope things turn around soon.
Highdays - I bet you're an expert suitcase packer! Enjoy your next trip.
Mhagster - I keep hoping your lovely dog improves enough to enjoy longer walks. Keeping my fingers crossed.
A winning weekend here. On Saturday an email announced a Premium Bond win - £100! Then on Sunday an email announced a Lottery win - £1!! Ah well, perhaps the next one will be the million😂
The allotment holders have returned from the Med. Glad we don't have that heavy responsibility any longer. Plus there's a limit to how many tomatoes/ courgettes etc we can eat. It feels like a variation of ratatouille has figured in every meal recently.
Happy 🌞 days everyone

Hello again!
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1)Not a bad sleep.
2) Tidied up in a minimal way before it got 36⁰.
3) My former colleague passed her A levels, with a B in art.
4) A man delivered my new floor tiles. He had a funny and silly sense of humour, that seemed very familiar. Turns out he came from the same isolated, mountainous, completely unknown area of Asia as my ex. He couldnt believe it!
5) Made a mushroom curry for tea.

Oooh just had to sign back in again!
Well no such eclipse pics here…too cloudy!
For Wednesday.
Up early and tasked myself with a set of chores. Then walked round to DD2…multitasked and chatted to sister as I walked. We went in to town as I had work cheques to pay into bank ….how olde fashioned! And were going ti go to lunch as I had a voucher but they were full so we got some bits at M&S instead.
Had to nip into supermarket to grab Vinted parcels…I have been buying wooden toys for The Baby for when she is a bit older. ( think they are really for me actually…we have a little sewing machine, a mixer, a coffee machine , a toaster with toast and little wooden jars of strawberry jam and lemon curd…and a little vegetable garden!
Baby snuggles whilst DD2 attempted a nap. And then Baby bath time and bedtime stories.
Then they left and I quickly packed a bag and my tea and off we went to CP. Very quick doggy walk and then was just making my tea when friend called so we had a 2 hour chat! So doggy and I had a getting dark last walk!
This morning up at 5am, let him out, fed him and then I went my sunrise walk. Which was lovely and makes me happy such a nice way to start a day.
Back up the road and took dog out a teeny weeny walk.Over for my swim at 9am…holy moly…the heated pool was freezing! And I mean it was cold…I swam as quick as I could and got out ( I do a minimum amount of lengths at my very least) it was actually warmer out of the pool and was probably only about 14o at that time. Hot shower very much needed.
Then time to head home but had a lovely teeny tiny walk and went a teeny tiny bit further…but he had a lie down on the way back up. Poor boy…but he did all the sniffs.
Dropped him off and then went round to help DD2. Chat to sister on the way.And then walked home. Fed dog. Wrote a long list of chores and ticked them all off!
Had ‘things to do’…appointments, ordering stuff that I’ve been saying all week I need to do so all done!
cut the grass and swept up front.Hung out a late washing.
Made the bed that I had stripped yesterday…and then had dumped it in my room before heading off yesterday…that was an oh no moment when I got home 😆
And then had a lovely work call with a new family. Not from these parts so a FaceTime call but they were just lovely.DD2 and The Baby came …she was so warm ( both of them) so bath time and bedtime stories and then walked them halfway home. Met two sets of people we knew so chatted with them.
And then I sat and wrote and wrote! Till it was dark outside and my eyes were crossing! Shall hopefully finish in the morning.6 -
If you watch Andy Burnham on the news, talking on location about the fire, that is 2 miles from me. I live about 5 metres off that main road! All the windows are shut, but there is a strong smell of smoke inside.
We went for a walk late last night and watched the helicopter circling the fire.
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1)Glad to get up. Woke at 4, looking for fire. Woken by neighbours not long after.
2) Went to coffee morning.
3) Had my first ever motorbike ride!
4) Organised the tiler coming next week.
5) Tasty tea planned for later.

And bedtime…don’t think I’ve stopped since being woken at 4.30am by a doggy who obviously wasn’t feeling well…he wanted in the garden to get grass but there is no grass! His tummy was making the most extraordinary noises! As if something was being churned up inside.
So I sat at the table and wrote and wrote and got my service almost finished all bar one part.
Was meeting a friend at other end of town…bumped into my old next door neighbours who I still keep in touch with. So had a nice chat with them. Showed them baby pics.
Then friend came and we both had a roll and bacon which was very nice. I don’t eat a lot of bread so it was nice to have it for a wee change. Good catch up.
And then a dash home. And gave the dog some chicken and rice ( and his anti inflammatory medicine) which he promptly vomited! Aaaargh! I was due on a work call in 6 minutes time!
So he’s had a quiet day.
Had my call. And then finished the service I was writing. Sent that off.Went to opposite direction of town to go to a blooming post office. Our main one in town has closed so what a blooming faff!
And then went to get DD2 and The Baby and they came round to mine.
Had got some picture frames today when I was out for some prints I’d got for The Baby’s room, so sat and put them in this evening and they look nice.
Hoping for a better night with dog boy!
