For yesterday,
Thankfully a little cooler, out to the emporium first thing and picked up a few bits for the weekend, fruit & ice-cream seem to top every list atm!
Gave myself a pedicure and manicure, much needed and listened to the latest Sherlock podcast while everything was drying.
Hot out in the paddocks so my girlie came in, tidied up her mane & tail, did some horsey Pilates then left her to her hay net.
Cooler late afternoon so few jobs done in the garden, in for tea then we were so happy to see clouds roll over and we had some decent rain. Let’s just hope it helped the firefighters as they battle a big fire on the heath at Dunwich.
Woke up in the night and could still hear the rain, could almost hear the garden sighing in relief!

Home with a lovely box of flowers.
Popped round to see DD2 and had a wee baby cuddle. After a wet start it dried up and the sun came out for a wee while.

Morning all.
Not a drop of rain here but thankfully a more bearable temperature and a cooling breeze.
Recent pleasures:
- Settled back into normal life after our trip away. Our 'Monday Tea' existence suits us just fine.
- Planning done for our next few trips away.
- Lovely relaxed summer days, easy meals, minimum housework, lots of reading and relaxing. Lazy? Moi?
- A new baby in the extended family - little girl. Well, not so little - 9lb 14oz in old money. Ouch!
- Will sort a picnic for tomorrow and another concert in the gardens afternoon, yet another of our favourite brass bands and a delightful way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon.
Right, coffee and Saturday newspapers are next on the agenda.
Have a good weekend whatever you are up to.

Early to bed and early up…felt like I was waking up at my normal time. Which I liked. My sleep has been a bit hit and miss especially sleeping on the sofa.
Anyway once up I wrote a list of chores and ticked them all off and then wrote some more and did them. Felt like a good reset. Hoovered. Cleaned bathrooms. Ironed. Filled a charity bag. Amongst other things.
Then DD2 and The Baby arrived with all their stuff😃 and that just tidied look was gone.
I had emailed about the work I did yesterday to say thank you. And got two lovely emails back this afternoon. Filled my heart.
Bath time and bedtime stories also fill my heart.
Went with son in law to pick up some furniture for them that someone local was giving away. To me to you as we waddled out to the car!
Washing out this morning…just as it started raining. A day of showers but managed to get it in again just before a shower…and then the sun peeked back out.
Ate one of the cupcakes I was given yesterday and DD2 had the other one. Red velvet.
And had curry and rice for my tea.

Good morning. No rain here. Nary a drop in living memory! Well, that's what it feels like. The ground is like rock and all the grass is brown. We are fortunate in that there is no hosepipe ban yet but it can only be a matter of time.
Recently.
Still going with DD to water her holidaying friend's allotment. We go every other day but everything is still very dry by the time we get there. And on Thursday DD and DSIL swan off to join said friend in Barcelona leaving DH and I in charge! A heavy responsibility.
Another nice problem to have is what to do with all the tomatoes, cucumbers and courgettes. So many neighbours and friends are on holiday that I'm. running out of recipients.
Yesterday I spent time sowing ( salad leaves) and sewing ( my year of tiny leaves). That amused me!.
I've realised I need to step up buying clothes for our trip in September. The shops are starting to shove beach clothes in a corner and fill the racks with black and brown. But at least summer clothes are in the sale so it might be more MSE.
Sunday. Time to put the croissants in the air fryer.
Happy Sunday everyone 🌞

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1)Not a bad sleep.
2) Did some tidying up in the garden and sorted the pot plants out.
3) Took smaller son to Aldi to choose beer.
4) Cleaned the oven.
5) Changed my bed. 2 loads of washing done.
6) Cleaned the fridge, round the microwave and other awkward bits.
7) Made a curry for tea.
8) Noticed bigger son's Christmas tree is dying so watered that. It's one from a pot that he can dig up each year. Hopefully it'll pick up.
9) Waiting for a Sainsbury's delivery.

House tidied.
Used carpet cleaner to clean bedroom carpet. I’ve been meaning to do it for ages.
A friend came for lunch. She had surgery on Wednesday but was remarkably ok.
