What a beautiful day! First nice day in a while! Or that’s how it seems! Thursday washing finally dried 😆
Went for a swim! Hurrah! Quick drive down. Checked there was nothing in my caravan fridge I should worry about…2 Jaffa cakes! Ate them incase they went off 😆 20 minutes swimming in the sunshine and then literally straight home…with my wet cossie still on! So doggy was just left an hour and was fine.We spent 10 minutes in the garden…instead of just 5.
Next load of washing out. Had washed all yesterday charity purchases. And my swimming stuff.
Walked round to DD2 to then walk back here with her and baby. Popped in to see mums NDN.
DD2 went for a nap and I was on baby duty. SIL was here to pick them up about 5pm so it’s been nice having a quiet evening.
Changed the dogs bedding over. So that was the third wash out!
Enjoying the breeze coming in the patio doors.
Can’t quite believe we are halfway through the year!
And I’m looking forward to a swim in the morning again!!

Hard to believe it's the solstice already.
DH doing amazingly now, bruising is till appearing, and I'm a little bit worried about his balance, we'll see.
I’ve been finding some local places to drive to and explore because Rhubarbs not dealing well with the loss of Custard, in fairness we aren’t either. I'm doing some on my own and if DH is feeling up to coming along we'll walk a ferret each. There have been some long walks, we found an amazing little place, but it's an hour there and another back.
Yesterday’s walk was only a few miles away and a lovely area, boy did we get hot though. But so much flora to take in, and I’ve no idea what they all are without phone help and phones and ferrets are an awkward mix when moving. We also had a red admiral following us wherever we went. I think for the next few days it's going to be too hot to take them out even in the evening.
The jackdaws and starlings have literally eaten most, as of tomorrow, we need to shop for bird food.
Using up freezer items, today was not handy as it was a pork roast, we’ve eaten too much and feel rather nap like now.
I’ve dug out a smaller bag for walks and started looking for maxi dresses with pockets, most of my summer stuff is rather lacking.

Another lovely day here.
Went to CP for a swim. Just there , swim and straight home. Was lovely.Chat on FaceTime with DD1.
Friend popped in with a lovely gift for baby, and then baby popped in so she got a wee cuddle! Had a lovely chatter and catch up.
Needed to measure dog for his leg brace. This was not an easy task for one person and my tape measure is at the caravan so had to get a bit of ribbon and mark on it! Then had to walk to DD to get theirs! What a palaver! Anyway it’s ordered!
Chopped up pineapple for my tea.And how can it be half way through the year already?

Good morning. Oh this weather! Apologies to all the 'too hot' folk but I love being warm. I especially love sitting outside in an evening with a cool glass, watching the swallows wheeling above.
New car day today. We managed to battle through the paperwork ( the real issue being that it wasn't paper,; it was all online and sometimes our grasp of technology falters ) and hopefully all will be sorted by teatime.
We have booked a cruise with DD and DSiL. I think it may be our last cruise because we are so old,and DH has so many medical things to declare that insurance is becoming too expensive. But it looks like a good one so let the planning commence. I realise new car and cruise don't sound very MSE but I tell myself it's the rewards of years of frugality.
DS came round with 2 pairs of linen trousers for me to shorten. He debated with himself for ages whether an inch or an inch and a half off would be better! I did try to point out that no-one else would notice half an inch difference on his trouser legs but I don't think he was convinced. Anyway we settled on an inch and they're done now.
Yesterday was Sunday lunch sort of dinner. I know. Completely wrong for the weather but I had a lot of fresh veg that needed using and I couldn't think of anything adventurous. It was good anyway.
Yoga this morning. Hopefully a gentle version in the heat.
Happy summery day everyone

For the weekend,
Up early Saturday morning and baked a couple of loaves, one for now and one for the freezer as I can’t see me wanting the oven on this week with predicted temps of 35plus!
The endless joy of watching the birds taking a bath, four tiny blue t*t fledglings at one point, having a fine old time and all fluffed up.
Enjoying a lot of cricket, both mens and the womens T20.
Our strawberries with cold dark chocolate shaved over them, oh my!
Along with my first Pimms of the season ☺️
Another early start Sunday morning, I did wake up at 4 and wondered if I was going to greet the sun at Litha but looking out the window it was cloudy and overcast so I went back to bed for an hour or so!But by 6 I was out in the garden, watering and feeding my veggies.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge before going back out in the garden to thin out the carrots and so some weeding.
Afternoon snooze ☺️
Sat out in the evening until late enjoying the fine weather, C dog brought her pal out with us too, she lurves her Moose.9 -
lovely photo Lainey 😊
We went to the local car boot sale yesterday morning. It’s only 50p entry and £1 for stall holders which goes to local community projects, so when the weather is cooler we might do a stall I still have a load of beanie babies and other things to sell! We lasted there less than half an hour and nothing bought and then went to local pub, which has an on-site cafe, for breakfast. No cooking for me in the heat, OH had sandwiches and I had cheese and biscuits later.
The rest of the day was spent doing more washing (bedding this time), watching tennis 🎾 (great match) and hot tubbing (on a lower temperature).
The evening sky from the front of our bungalow was stunning on the longest day.
I had an Iceland delivery first thing this morning as I couldn’t face shopping in the heat, although today is cooler. A few other jobs done and then more relaxing 😊
My sister and her granddaughter are coming down for a few days to stay at the nearby caravan park, she is relieved the temperature will be a good few degrees lower here near the coast than her home town. So we will be seeing them and we’re meeting up with two of my friends at the beach hut on Thursday.
Have a good day everyone 😊

Hello.
what a blooming day!The Pup became very unwell last night and needed emergency surgery, so I had to walk to DD2 at 11.30pm to walk back round here at midnight. And I’ve been on the go since about 4.30pm
Then we had to go out as DD had an appointment so it was an absolute faff to get the car seat in my car and the iso-fix for the car seat bit me! And took a chunk of arm and left a bruise.
Anyway we got there we are just not going to get anywhere fast these days!Home briefly and then popped out again to pick up something from marketplace. So popped into charity shop whilst I was down that end of town. Saw a Queen’s Coronation mug and messaged DD1…she collects kitsch royal plates….would she like it? And she never messaged until I had literally sat in the car! So went back and bought it and a man had the most awful and overpowering aftershave on and the smell was still with me all the drive home.
And then I was on baby duty to let DD2 get a nap. It will be an early bed for me tonight ( early sofa!)
They went to see The Pup ( in vet hospital) and I went a walk with baby…I’m missing doggy walks. So walked where I used to walk every morning before I started going to CP.
We had rain until about 4pm and it was cool…and now it’s warm and humid.
And it was just the day that kept on giving! But it also gave baby hugs!7 -
