DH seems pretty much there, having to be careful with the head in the sun.
Get well-wishes for poorly pup also from here.
I’ve purchased something for MIL, she’s been wanting vastly reduced in the Prime deals, and a couple of vitals for us simple solutions pretty much in bulk when on offer, I guess mse as we will buy it so paying best price.
I needed to drop the car in for air con today, great timing, but as we are a one car house at the moment, it was a fair walk back, if I’m honest I did struggle a little however we had a little ferret with us which meant we could walk slower when he wanted to, and I’m told by cars that literally stopped to tell us that we had made their day and they were serious rather than the mickey takers everything attracts.
I’m mulling over buying a pair of sandals to replace the expensive ones the fox took last year, I have a cheap mountain warehouse knock off pair but the real ones are very worth it, currently on sale at twenty pounds off but still leaves them expensive.
Realised based on the above I need to go back to the doctors, I’m just trying to work out what to say really.
Tea was easy kiev and waffles,
The car is back with tyres all done and air conditioning set to Baltic, feeling set to smug.

Up early.
Did my chores whilst a bit cooler.
Went for a swim…however the traffic was at a standstill on motorway so luckily I noticed before I turned for slip road and was able to turn back. Went the long way ( which until a month ago was my normal way)
Good swim. Chatted with my swim buddy! And home.DD2 came here…hello/ goodbye. And I went round to hers to do her housework! Hoovered/ mopped. Cleaned bathroom. Hung out the washing. Pulled some weeds…and sat and ate her crisps while waiting for the washing machine to finish 😆 then back here to let her try and rest.
Then they went to pick up The Pup. Who’s now also in a crate! Tomorrow we are going to look like a blooming vets! So Baby and I walked round to theirs and I sat quietly and gave him gentle cuddles.
And home. My boy allowed out his crate for a wee while to lie on the cooler floor but back in for bedtime.
A lovely message from someone I’d worked with at the start of the year. Made my day.

For yesterday,
Breakfast and our only cooked meal of the day, eggs on toast!
Phew, what a scorcher, girlie went out early early but I was over there by 11am to bring her back into the cool barn, some owners are putting their horses out at night but given my mare’s propensity for getting out of her field I just wouldn’t sleep at night for worrying so doing best I can.
Most of afternoon was spent reading, snoozing and trying to keep cool.
C dog had appointment for nail trim at V E T S, wouldn’t have bothered but we are on holiday next week and she can’t go two more weeks so air con put on in car and off we went, the practice also has air con so it was nice to sit in their waiting room.
Stayed up to watch England game, hmm 🤔

Oooft at a long day!
Up early.Hung out washing. Watered plants. SIL came to collect the crate.
Dog and I drove round to theirs . First time he’s been out the front in 12 days!
A day of a granddaughter…a daughter getting a decent nap , two dogs in 2 crates…needing out separately and supervised. A bit of weeding. Tuna pasta for late lunch. An I’ll just sit on this stool…it collapsed in a heap…as did I ( with a ‘this is going to hurt’ thought as I went down) I sat on a pile of wood for a minute or so to assess the situation 😆 a skint arm. And a how am I getting back up as it was on the stony part of the garden! 11 hours later we came home.
SIL brought crate back round about 9pm.
Washing in. Lordy at the heat that had built up. Small ironing quickly done.
Lovely sky at the moment.
Good luck Scotland 🏴7 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1)Good to get up after a poor night. 29⁰ in my room overnight...
2) Nurse appointment at 8.20. Amazing air conditioning in there! Turns out I'm a bit fat but my blood pressure is still 105/72.
3) Went to former WHSmiths to buy some squared paper.
4) Used my free voucher in the new Town Hall cafe. It was for a cocktail but they let me swap it for a pot of tea.
5) Went to M and S for salad bits.
6) Tidied up while it was not too hot.
7) Finished writing a cryptic crossword for my friend.
8) Morrisons cafe for air conditioning and a game of chess.
9) Waiting for the Scotland match.

For yesterday,
Very hot overnight and a poor night’s sleep so good to get up & start the day.
Few chores then over to the yard to get my girlie in and settled in the barn, I’d made her an ice treat of bits of carrots & apples frozen in water and she seemed to like it.
Home and lunch with Capt S before he headed out for a meeting.
The afternoon was spent reading and keeping cool with C dog, she loves the fan!
A wander around the garden around 10, lovely and cool plus Mr Bat was out, best time of the day.

Morning all.
Yep, as we tought, another scorching day today. Had to laugh as the day we go away next weekend is forecast 18 degrees and rain, sounds about right!
Some pleasures:
- Son and DIL arrived safely in Cyprus, temps about the same as ours but a lot less humidity, and they have air con, lucky things!
- I've sussed the system of window opening and shutting, blinds and curtains drawn and open to allow maximum coolness and through draughts at various times of the day. A lovely sleep last night with two fans at strategic angles and my bamboo bedding has proven worth its weigh in gold.
- Little fella got off on his three day residential trip. The photos so far show him having a great time in spite of his broken arm - we are amazed at how he manages and what he can do. No fuss or bother, he just gets on with things.
- Our internet has been off or down or whatever for two days, it's been lovely. The boys were totally lost initially but have been playing games and reading (!!) and its been a bit of a wake up call for me to realise just how long I spend on my laptop and how much time I have when I don't. Hmm.. Anyway, son has now remotely solved the problem from his sun lounger so we are up and running again.
- Cold drinks, cold food, ice lollies, and the bliss of a rummage in the big chest freezer when the heat gets to be too much. Another couple of days and we get back to something like normality.
Hope you are keeping as cool as possible if you have the hot weather where you are.

For yesterday,
Another steaming hot day so rinse & repeat.
Did pop to the emporium to pick up a few bits plus a parcel, came away and yes you’ve guessed it, I’d forgotten the parcel 🙈 unfortunately the car park has a no return within two hours policy but luckily Capt S was working from home so I took his car instead!
Onto the yard and got my girlie all sorted.
Afternoon spent in the lounge again, fan on and cold drink to hand, upside is that I’ve read a book in two days.
Late evening watering of garden, today we are off to Dorset for a week so pots moved into a shadier spot and the old plastic bottle trick employed in my veggie beds. Fingers crossed things will be ok until we come back.

Good morning…a tad cooler here ( still warm) thunder rumbling away in the distance though no real rain yet ( a few spits) and a huge electrical storm at 2.30am…ask me how I know! Waking up to the sounds of an about to be vomiting dog! And being out in the garden!
Anyway for Thursday…nothing about my days seem normal at the moment! And I rather like my normal days.
Up early. Out in garden with doggy then down to vets for 8.30am. To get his leg brace on. What an absolute palaver! No one had ever done one before ( they recommended it) and it literally was the blind leading the blind. Anyway finally on and tolerated. Will put it on again today and build up to having it on throughout the day.
Had just put him in car when my SIL was also at vets with The Pup for his post op check. They thought he wasn’t right though vet thought he was ‘okay’ though his temp was up. By end of day he was having emergency surgery for peritonitis. So it’s all been a bit mad.
Went to walk into vet reception and someone had a snake round their neck. I have a fear of snakes and slightly freaked/froze/freaked had to get out. SIL dealt with my query. Meds I had ordered hadn’t been ordered so had to be reordered! However I was able to pick them up later when we were back.
Home to drop off a dog and go for a swim. Got eaten alive by horse flies ( we call them clegs) so just got out as it wasn’t enjoyable but sat at the poolside for about 10 minutes and enjoyed the 10am warmth.
And back home! Hello doggy. Then it was time to go round to be on baby duty for the afternoon but oh my goodness it was so hot. Even their cool fronted house was warm. And baby cuddles were too warm. And then got call from vets. And then we had to dash to vets . But first I had to take dog home to mine, load car up with baby stuff. DD2 walked round with pram and baby. Home. Dog in. Fan on. Car seat in. Baby in. Pram in boot. Right lest go…all in 30o heat.
And the vet hospital was blessedly cool and we got to spend time with The Pup who was happy to see us. First time he’d wagged his tail all day they said.
And then everything in reverse. Pram in boot. Baby in car. Home to mine…unload from my car to their car. SIL went to McD for our tea…not what I’d usually eat but it was inhaled! And then they went home. And I just sighed. And moaned about the heat, and decided even though the vet said I could now go back to my own bed and leave him downstairs in the crate overnight to just stay downstairs as upstairs was unbearably warm…and then he vomited at 2.30am and how awful that would have been for him and for me if I’d came downstairs to find it all!
However I also came home to a lovely card for being a Grammy from a couple I’m working with just now. Which was so unexpected. I had just taken my lovely cards down the other day and I’ve had another two since then!
niece had texted in the afternoon ‘are you free’ …I’m trying to get a baby to sleep…‘I can be quiet!’ So had a nice chat with her.And I do not like thunderstorms since being out in one when I was five and being sure I was going to be electrocuted. We were on a beach on holiday and had to run back. The terror has stayed with me. Ivan watch from indoors but don’t like being out. But I stood and watched the sky lit up! And it was quite spectacular.
And now heading out to take DD2 to the optician ( aka oooh I can go to the charity shop next door 😆)Have a lovely day…last day of school here today.

Oh me again. From my very own bed…fingers crossed for a decent sleep.
Up very early and saw the amazing lightning storm which was all over Scotland. Still no real rain here but thankfully the air has cleared.Round to pick up DD2 and Baby and into town. Got a parking space and thankful for 2 hours free parking.
Dropped them off back home. Went to supermarket. And home and hello doggy. We both had our lunch. Then chat to sister. Then cut the grass …been needing doing and not had time. Then me and my dog round to be on Grammy duty.
And home just after. 7.15pm.
And 2&3/4 hours chat with friend, 2 weeks of chat to catch up on!
