Good morning. And a beautiful morning it is indeed.
Mhagster - so lovely to have a gorgeous baby to cuddle.
Recently.
Good yoga session though my legs are still achy.
The garden is growing like billy-o after all the rain-one-day, sun-the-next weather so that's keeping us busy. Spotted a hedgehog under the bushes yesterday so went to get it a dish of water. When I got back it had gone but I left the dish there for future visitors.
We're changing cars. Oh, the paperwork! If anything leads to divorce, after 50 plus years,it'll be paperwork! Very glad we don't change cars often.
Planning a cruise with DD and SiL. More paperwork but of a pleasant variety.
Gradually losing a little weight. So much easier in the summer with all the soft fruit to go at..
My ' year of tiny leaves' embroidery is coming along. I'm up to date now and finally stitching some warm pinks and oranges. I was running out of blue threads!
Happy summery day everyone

For yesterday,
Listening to an Uncanny podcast whilst cleaning, the spooky stories make the chores seem easier.
The hedge blossom is out and although it’s awful on my hay fever the smell coming into the garden is lovely.
Went to get my big girl in and there was a loose horse causing havoc out in the paddocks, called the owner to get him caught but my lass was throwing some impressive shapes as she galloped & bucked her excited way around the field 🙈 she behaved coming in but needed a cool sponge down before calming down. Another owner was very impressed with her turn of speed!
Coming outside at half time in the footie and there was a beautiful crescent moon with Venus just above it.
The first win under our belts but think our defence will struggle against better teams.

I hope your husband is going along OK, PK.
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1)Short sleep, but i did dream we went to a cat rehoming centre to meet 2 new kittens. They were wearing little shoes (in the dream) but we weren't worried as we decided we would take those off them when we took them home!
2) Went our for a cup of tea with my school friend.
3) Got a book (father's day present) and the first 2 stocking fillers (!) from TKMaxx.
4) Went to Waitrose after and did the crossword in the free paper.
5) Made egg mayo sandwiches for lunch.
6) My brother came round to replace a length of guttering.
7) Gary neighbour was emptying his garage (moving house) and I had a free lawnmower. (I accidentally typed farage instead of garage so will bleach my hand just now).
8) Pizza for tea.
9) Got my house insurance for £112 with £25 to return to me via Quidco.
10) Wildflower lawn is improving.

Good morning…from the sofa/bed…drizzling with rain having been heavy rain all night. Anyway for Thursday.
Up early.
A morning of chores.
An afternoon visit of baby and daughter.Friend popped over. Lovely to see her. There’s been lots of lovely pop ins this week. Probably as I can’t pop out. But friends have been very generous with gifts for baby.
I optimistically hung out a washing (including the dog bedding as he’d been so sick) well it’s still waiting on the washing line as it absolutely poured!!
So it was soggy doggy walks!
Out for a wee while last night. And got petrol on the way home which was about 3p a litre cheaper than last week…and because I’ve not been back and forth to the CP I’ve not used as much.
Have a lovely day .7 -
For yesterday,
Our strawberries with yoghurt for breakfast.
Warm enough for a summer dress but remembered a cardie for emporium visit as always so cold in there. Saw my pal and we caught up over a coffee, dropped a couple of books off at the free book swap in the cafe.
A little after lunch nap after staying up for the footie.
A quieter afternoon at the yard, girlie was sleepy in the warm sunshine so we just did a few stretching exercises over poles.
Tea was cold with some tasty rtc poached salmon with various salads, love summer eating.

Evening all.
Blimey, it's been a scorcher!
D/Doll - ooft, couple of low blows for you there.
mhagster - read that as 'out for a wee last night'….my mind boggled a bit till I reread and breathed a sigh of relief…
Some recent pleasures:
- Antibiotics have kicked in and middle grandson is feeling and looking a fair bit perkier. Two more weeks and hopefully little fella gets his plaster off, too hot in this heat, his entire arm is plastered right down to his wrist. Sister is slowly regaining confidence and having a few tentative trips away from the house. So things are improving for all the poorlies,
2. We are just back from a 2 day theatre break in our old home city. Had a fab time - visiting as a tourist is very different to living there! Glorious weather so lots of sitting outside pavement cafes and a smooch around some of the individual shops, both got some bits and pieces we had been wanting. Strolled back to the hotel from the theatre at 10.30pm, still light and warm with lights reflecting in the very still river, just like being abroad (and probably warmer) with happy people enjoying the balmy evening outside restaurants and bars.
3.Happy after a couple of days back on our old home turf to turn the car round and head back to our now home town though, we are exceedingly content here.
4. Son and DIL have just set off for their holiday in Cyprus so we are now in charge of three grandsons for ten days. Eldest grandson is already not where I was led to believe he would be, think he missed the instructions to 'keep grandma informed'. I've also got a huge pile of stuff to be name taped for little fella's school trip - every sock apparently. The big pleasure will be when they come back and I can hand the reins back over! My bairn has told me to track their plane tomorrow, might not as last time it disappeared off the screen for quite a while!!!
5. Plans made with brother and SIL for yet another midsummer break, we will hardly be at home this summer, we are now booked through to the end of October. Fab! This time our other brother and his wife are joining us which will be fun. The joys of retirement and doing things while you can, a very big pleasure.
Well, looks like the spacing on here hs all gone to pot again - apologies. Hope everyone has been able to enjoy the sunshine, we've waited for this for the whole of June it seems!

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1)Not a bad sleep, though too hot.
2) Went to coffee morning and did a cryptic crossword puzzle.
3) Had salad and hummus for lunch.
4) Have been devising a crossword puzzle for my chess partner.
5) Cancelled auto renewal of old house insurance. Seems we also get a £50 hotel voucher from the new insurance, so that will be useful.
6) Pasta bake for tea.
7) New to me lawnmower works.
8) Looking forward to the Scotland match later.
ETA 9) Heard my neighbour shout me so I shot out into the garden thinking she'd had an emergency! She waa sitting a guide dog puppy for the day so lifted her over the fence to me so I could have a cuddle!

It turned into a nice evening here about 7pm after lashing with rain all day! It absolutely poured! Yesterday’s washing is still out and can just stay there!
So up at early o’clock.
Pottered around until it was time to go round to DD2 to pick up her and baby as she had an optician appointment. What a palaver getting everything in the car…car seat, pram base, pram carry cot…it was way too wet to just have the wee car seat on top of base! So all in, all out, baby in…parking ticket ( and again hurrah for 2 hours free parking! And we got the last space!) Said cheerio to the mummy and off we went…baby’s first visit to M&S , two charity shops, popped into my flower shop to say hello to the girls there. And it was time to go and get her mummy. All whilst the rain poured! And then reverse of getting back in the car !
And back to mine! DD2 went to have a nap upstairs and I was in charge of baby and a dog in a crate! The Pup took himself upstairs for a nap too!SIL here about 7.30pm to take them home but all the stuff has to go back in the car ( and will all come back again tomorrow!) ideally dog and I would be round at theirs to help but he’s stuck in a crate so they have to come to us.
Went through my charity shop haul to take off labels and put in washing machine…got a lovely pair of linen trousers in a chartreuse shade. A few tee shirt /vest tops that would be nice if the sun ever shone…all still had their tags on! A nice blouse with tags on and a lovely orange jumper!
Had a quick FaceTime with DD1 when we were down the town! Two more books read this afternoon. Books kept from my children’s childhood in the hope that one day I would have someone to read them to!

Morning all 😊
Back last Sunday from 3 weeks in Lesvos, we always said we would go for 3 weeks when we retired and we had a wonderful time although we both missed our lovely new home and were pleased to be back. Big shop on Monday and loads of washing between rain.
Back to near old home town on Tuesday for hygienist (me) and dentist (both). Also visited old friend in her new flat and 2 minutes walk to pub by the river 😊. Then, surprise surprise my son said we could visit his new flat (which I bought him!) he seems happy there thank goodness.
Wednesday I was back at the dentist for scans (3 hour return journey) as I bravely decided to have my old denture replaced ( lots of 💰 ).
Thursday, lots more washing and weeding and we finally got the hot tub set up 😊
Friday, more washing, hot tub in between the decorator popping in to touch some paint work and the window cleaner deciding to come as I was about to get in the hot tub 🤣. In the afternoon I retired to the cooler bedroom with the fan on to watch some tennis and fell asleep!
OH stayed up to watch football ⚽️ ☹️ glad I went to bed 💤
Have a good day and enjoy the good weather (slightly cooler today 😊).

For yesterday,
Out early, watering my pots and filling the bird feeders, just love how much longer the days seem in summer.
My wedding flowers still going strong on the hearth - as one of the four “Mums” I was kindly gifted a bridesmaids bouquet.
Mid morning and over to the yard to bring my girlie in before the high temperatures of the afternoon, chatting with other owners and catching up on our weeks. My lass was happy to see me and I left her munching on haylage in the cool of the barn.
Lazy afternoon, dozing and keeping half an eye on the cricket. It cooled down a bit around 6 so we sat outside to have tea.
Stayed up long enough to see the first half of the Scotland 🏴 match, no idea if they will make it through to next round but apparently they have already broken World Cup record for loudest singing of national anthem!
