5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Thank you all for lovely words.

Up early…a wee bit of weeding in my garden before we left . Have been at DD2 for 12 hours and have about half an hour left before we head back home.

Doggy walks. Baby snuggles. Washing hung out. A bit of weeding here.

Mostly dry with the odd shower of rain.

Left over bolognese for our tea tonight.

Pleasures for yesterday (Wednesday)

1)Not a bad sleep.

2) Went to see my school friend in floody city.

3) Went to Waitrose and did the prize crossword puzzle.

4) Actually managed to park in the centre so went round the charity shops and bought a top.

5) Cleaned the bathroom.

6) Went with my brother as he was working in the Cotswolds. Went to see Clarksons pub (just wandered around, didn't go in). Some man in a van shouted something rude at me out of the window and there were enough people around for me to shout something back. Ridiculous that man have been doing this to me since I was 14. 36 years of it.

7) Met my other friend and went to a pub.

8) My brother and I stopped to look at the other Rollright stones on the way home - about 11.30pm. The Whispering Knights.

• Marvellous pic, Frith. More unknown stone names. Maybe how they arrived after some reshaping?

• 1. Emporium crossword tastes tangy this week😉. Annoyingly, 'mat' and 'rug' are both 3-letter floor coverings. So obvious, thought &, before realising.😆

• 2. Another once-upon-a-time 1/- shone on emporium floor for &🙂.

• 3. Night 3 of hwb coming up. Weather crazies continue and no comforty warmth quite matches an hwb. Don't forget to use the etiolated water on orchids and most houseplants.

• 4. Happy midweek Communion earlier, during more crashing downpours. Chatting after, turned out we'd all watered our tomatoes etc. before Noye's Fludde again and again and again.

• 5. Left bag of vg bric-à-brac for next week's so-called SUMMER fête.... Will there be 🌞? On verra.

• Stay safe everyone.🤲

What a day. In brief…from the sofa made into a makeshift bed.

Out with both doggies this morning at CP and somehow H has hurt his leg and can’t weight bear. SIL went up to get my car to drive it down for us as he couldn’t walk. Went to vets…rest today and painkillers . ? X-rays tomorrow. His mobility has decreased.

However I also have a daughter needing help so it’s been a busy day. Dog really struggled on her wooden floors which I also have but I have lots of big rugs.

Friend was popping in with gift for baby and lovely flowers and card for me.

Home about 8pm. Struggle to get in and out of car but he’s been ‘settled’ since we’ve got home. Sleeping downstairs so he doesn’t try to get upstairs and so I can hear him. So hot water bottle filled as it ain’t very warm! Been a ghastly rainy day.

Baby snuggles have filled my heart though!

What a day!

Dog at the vets for 6 hours. He’s ruptured his cruciate ligament and will be on complete crate rest for 2 weeks then we will try and incorporate a leg brace. I don’t want to put him through surgery if we can avoid it. He is almost 12 has some other health issues and an absolutely huge expense. So we will try and manage him conservatively if we can.

And of course not ideal with a new baby and a mummy to support but we will muddle through.

And I just want to swim…but doggy’s and baby’s needs come first.

Crate will be brought round later and I’ll have a couple of nights downstairs and see how that goes. And if I need two weeks downstairs then that’s okay!

Just glad I’m off work!

But whilst he was at vets I nipped into town…and hurrah for 2 hours free parking! Had a mooch round charity shops and got a pair of jeans a top and a lovely cushion that says oh La La ! And may have got a few items in the M&S sale rail for my girlie…70% off!

Got a washing out and dry and was just home when it started raining. So got it in in time.

Couple of chats to sister.

And a couple of walks with The Pup.

And a couple of cuddles with my baby girl.

And I’m just waiting a sod it I don’t care take away meal being delivered!!

Sorry I’ve been missing..

DH had a serious accident, falling 23ft from a ladder, hitting the tree, then wall, falling down a bank and into a stream primarily made of and lined with brick. I’ve never seen so much blood or, now, skull. At hospital and looking back I find my faith renewed that he’s now home and convalescing. I’ve made an appointment to have his head staples removed Monday, and he’ll be wearing head caps for a while, I’ve found bamboo caps for while it may be warm, and 2 fleece ones for night. I’ve cleared the calendar for the next couple of months.

The sad, we unexpectedly lost one of the ferret “brothers”, Custard didn’t come around from a needed dental surgery, I’m fighting to keep his brother - Rhubarb going, we’ve been on short local walks every day to get him at least interested in the world.

1 The NHS, while under obvious stresses, we were whipped past the corridor waiting and straight in, although the whispering about how bad his injury was etc was picked up by him. We were aware of the seriousness..

2 A little local walk with a ferret, means I get to meet lots of locals, and I don’t have to leave DH alone too long.

3 DH managed to get into the garden today and potter, but that’s taken it out of him, but fresh air.

4 Pie, Chips and greenery will be tea

5 I’ve half-heartedly dragged the house into shape.

oh heck whilst saying how awful,I can appreciate just how lucky he is !

Hoping he feels better soon much better soon and Rhubarb is ok .

Oh my word, PK, so sorry to hear this but greatly relieved to hear how well your poor hubby seems to be doing. A massive shock for you both, take care and go steady both of you.
