Morning all.
Some great photos on here in recent days.
Some pleasures:
- My bairn's birthday week so we started it in style with cocktails and tapas, the last hot evening and we sat outside the restaurant til late, felt like being abroad. How did my precious little boy ever get to be all grown up and 45 years old??
- Lovely day out at the weekend - bit of retail therapy, lunch and a matinee at the theatre - They Came From Afar, very heartwarming play aound 9/11. Interesting to see as hubby's group are staging it next year.
- Sister is home ,again, totally exhausted and needs to rest and recuperate before the next set of tests. Easier to do that at home though of course missing her beloved dog who was wonderful company once she had to give up work, a big comfort when she was so poorly and frightened.
- Little fella went back to school yesterday, so brave but by lunchtime he was flagging so his dad picked him up and brought him home, he came in to be with me for a while. Lots of moving about and boisterous children and I think he was very wary of getting his arm banged, all just a bit overwhelming. We sat quietly and had little chats and he got a bit of colour back and perked up. He's gone back happily today and school are very caring so fingers crossed.
- Plans being finalised for our weekend away with brother and sister in law. Not expecting great weather but haven't seen them since our last jaunt so looking forward to a good catch up.
Right, need to crack on a bit and get sorted and it looks like coffee time already!
Have a good day, whatever you are up to.

back from a glorious week in the Netherlands. Sorry to see about your cat Frith but 20 is indeed a very good age
- the time spent with DD1 and 2 and their partners
- the museums - we did the Van Gogh (timed slots so plenty of opportunity to get up close to the pictures), Rotterdam maritime and Amsterdam canal
- the Dordrecht steam festival, a biennial affair - Saturday we bought tickets and went on a steam train (gbf and I went on 2!), 2 steam boats and an old bus as well as going round the model railway hall; Sunday we enjoyed the stationary exhibits (steam engines a plenty, 2 organs, a fair ground, shanty choirs and the wonderful STEAMROADSTERS – Abacus Theater, steam punk explorers on amazing contraptions) then Sunday we returned to Rotterdam by waterbus
- the food including dutch apple cake with whipped cream, poffertjes and croquettes of course
- the drink including fresh mint tea, fresh ginger tea, dutch beer and of course a couple of aperols sitting by the canal
Pleased to say I got through security quite quickly both ends. gbf had a longer delay going out as he couldn't read the instructions when he'd taken his glasses off (as instructed) - he is staying out till Saturday so hopefully gets home OK!

Good morning from the caravan…a novelty…I have wifi!
For Tuesday.
Up early and down we came. Had a walk when we arrived. Then I had my swim at 9am. Did my caravan housework that takes not very long to do 😆 but hoovered and then washed hoover / filter pads etc.
Went for another swim at midday and it was a tad warmer than at 9am and then it started to rain a wee bit so I came out and then it started to absolutely pour!
Brightened up enough for our walk before we left.
A couple of chats on the phone.
And then out for dinner last night which was nice!
And a most beautiful sky as I drove home. And then up this morning bright and early and headed back down here. Have a bit of worky stuff I need to do and then hopefully it’s dry enough for the pool to be opened.

Pleasures for yesterday (Tuesday)
1)Not a bad sleep.
2) Nice and cool with the occasional downpour.
3) Went to town of my birth to look at the charity shops.
4) Had a barbecue with smaller son.
5) Went with my brother to his work. Had a look at Arthur's Stone on the way, then looked round the village where he was working.

Good afternoon. April showers here! In June!
Dundee Doll . - I had dreadful trouble with the new security at Murcia airport. Turns out my fingerprints are unreadable ( illegible?) After several attempts with a staff member urging me to 'Press Strong ' I was escorted to the police desk. He tried too but eventually shrugged and waved me through. I might have a new career as a bank robber!
Recently.
Getting the garden sorted post holiday. It's looking very lush and everything is now out of the greenhouse and into the ground apart from some pepper seedlings and lettuce leaves. And talking of lush we are really appreciating the greenness of the verges and hedgerows after the dry dustiness of Spain.
Took an almost new camping chair to the charity shop yesterday and they wouldn't take it because it didn't have a fire safety label! It's not upholstered! Took it to another shop two doors down and they received it gratefully.
Caught up with Race Across The World. My favourites won. Now watching Monsieur Spade and enjoying it.
No gardening today. It's raining again. Embroidery and R4 I think.
Happy Wednesday everyone

A quick update from this mornings post.
Well it absolutely lashed with rain so no swimming. But another quick walk before we left.
rainy and windy drive home.
quick chat to sister.
popped into town…hurrah for free parking being introduced in town for 2 hours!
And a wee tub of ice cream went down a treat!5 -
1.Unused St Helena bag, £1 at Nexus😃. Unsure why I like it, but very much do and have learnt a little about St Helena, looking things up.🙂
2.Repeat stops in last ½ mile to let first 6, then 4, then 2 and 3 bunnies cross small rural road safely. So many were out after the 3rd lot of crazy rain this afternoon.
3.French Open tennis commentary💓......and now the 2 Italian Matteo's, both seeking a semi-final place. Oh, cruel, cruel end for Berettini, which neither player wanted. He's had so many injuries, also tested+ for covid the day before he was due to play at Wimbledon. Both are likeable, talented young athletes.
4.Gave £3 dishwasher tablets voucher to young family who used it then and there.👏
5.Tonight's emporium🥇- chestnut mushrooms rtc 33p! 3pks left with friend en route back.
Hang on, it's starting again......🌨️🌨️🌧️

20*25 for 2025: 489 / 5006 -

- haircut - the red dye is nearly gone (I have dyed my hair for over 20 years so going grey is an adventure)
- met DrM on the bus - had a feeling I might and had the chocolate clogs I'd brought him back from Netherlands
- I was on my way to the opera - local group with 2 of my choir colleagues in the chorus - spotted another 3 people I knew - the whole evening was fabulous - Eugene Onegin so I knew the story and the music well
- got chatting to the lovely couple sat next to me and turned out they live close by and offered me a lift home (bus would have taken over an hour) so dog walked, tea made and now in bed with the archers
