How awful Purple Kitten, sending hugs to you DH and rhubarb 🥰

Dear gods Purple Kitten, all strength to you & all yours and only drag the house as far as you Absolutely Must? (The first casualty of my 'to do' list in crisis is the hoovering, dusting, tidying etc of any room that has not got a patient in it. However, I do appreciate others hold to higher standards & respect that.)

Crikey PK, the gods were looking after DH that day to actually survive such an experience, healing thoughts are with him and little Rhubarb too x

- 3 glorious days in Stirling at my first General Synod (Scottish Episcopal Church)
- such a welcoming group - they even put on a welcome for the freshers at the start so we didn't feel too overwhelmed (there were over 100 overall)
- accommodation was basic (student halls) but clean and comfortable - I was in a flat of 6, some of whom I knew at the beginning and of course knew all by the end
- then home in time to take on my grill duty at the annual local bbq - the rain held off and my colleague and I did rather well in the raffle
- and now in bed - it's 20:04, i have a ticket to watch the match at my local (numbered tickets, bouncer on the door) and have set 3 alarms for 1am!!!

Hugs PK.
A busy day. An early start…outside with dog at 4.15am…back in and had a chat with DD1.
Made strawberry jam with RTC strawbs.
The Pup was dropped off here by SIL and then DD2 took her time and walked round here with baby. I met them halfway with The Pup.Quick nip to supermarket so I could feed DD2.
Then it was a quick walk round the garden, feed H, give H his meds. Feed DD2 and off I went to meet friends over from Australia for lunch. Drove by CP ( wished I could be there) and away up the hill that is such a windy road that twists and turns. Lunch at the top of the hill looking down over the sea. A cold and blustery day. The restaurant had the fire on.
So lovely to see friends and meet their travel companions. Lovely lunch. Excellent service. And a tad brief but I had to get back home. So back down the windy hill and past CP.
Was just home and friend had popped by so she was in briefly.
Then my sisters IL came to visit. They are 2 of my very favourite people so always nice to see them.
And then about 7.30 Pm every one was gone, we had another peruse of the garden. Tidied up.Dog just had his pain meds so fingers crossed for an alright night…and a decent score from Scotland 🏴
Bedtime on the sofa again5 -
Morning all.
Fair bit of drama and happenings - good and bad - here recently.
Some recent pleasures:
- Middle grandson managed to get to the end of his A Level exams before succumbing to a nasty bout of tonsillitis. At least now he has time to rest and recover.
- We have had, whisper it, some sunshine over the last couple of days and I do believe, apart from the wind, it\'s feeling warmer.
- A reasonably quiet week here luckily. I have been quite badly bitten on my foot which swelled up and I felt pretty grotty, nauseous and sleepy. Felt a bit 'out of it' for a couple of days but thankfully on the mend now.
- A day out today to a quite nearby city that we don't visit often enough. On the hunt for that elusive summer jacket, hope |i find it quickly as shopping is not my favourite thing. We can then browse around and have a nice late lunch by the river in - fingers crossed - some summer sunshine.
- A nice week in store with an overnight theatre trip to look forward to. Son and DIL fly off on holiday on Friday for 10 days so we will be 'babysitting' the boys, including little fella with his arm still in plaster so this is the calm before the storm!
Right, need to crack on and get ready and make the most of the day. Hope you have a good one, whatever you are up to.

Hurrah for the football score 🏴 game was just over when we were waking up. A slightly more settled night.
I just got up and wrote a list of chores and did them all bar wash the floors as they’re not that bad! Can go another day!first two loads of washing out and dry by lunchtime then had stripped my bed and it was all dried in a couple of hours. And the fourth load was the dog seat covers for the car and blankets…all dried and back in a newly hoovered car. Topped up the water for windscreens.
Popped out for 20 minutes this morning to supermarket, dropped off a couple of books I’d read at the charity book shelf.
Did a bit of weeding.
Had RTC lasagne and salad for tea.
Washed my door steps…and then had to rewash as a blooming bird crapped purple bird poop ! Rude!
A doggy who did not want to be in his crate has been so good…poor soul! He’s just had his evening circuit of the garden and his painkillers in his banana.
And had a work call…I’m not officially working but this is for someone I know so I will do it for them and it will be an honour as it always is.
And hurrah for a nice sunny day. Keeping the patio door open as long as I can to keep the room cool…another night on the sofa beckons.

I'm rather humbled by the wrap around hugs on here.
(DfV, ah it's only the cleaning that having multiple animals in the house needs..:-))
The body can be astounding at healing, it’s involved sleeping, but his head is back together, and the staples should be coming out tomorrow. There may have been a few (more) tears today when it really did hit home, he might not be here now.
Lesson for our preparedness, I didn’t have a list of his meds on my phone, and his phone while recovered, was lost at the bottom of the stream at the time, so we’ve fixed that now.
We put his phone in the dehydrator in bits for well so long I’ve lost track and then we left it in some more doubting its survival but it was in a case that really didn’t survive, and today it’s decided to work, it's quite a resounding shout-out to Samsung really as it was in the water for 4 days.
Jackdaws came down on mass this morning as a wake-up call!
I took Rhubarb out for his walk today and noticed his other friends doing all they could this evening, bouncing on him to try and get him to play. If it’s possible, to keep him we are trying.
