For the last few days.
we’ve had all the weathers! But did manage to get washing out yesterday afternoon.
I have a few things on the ‘mental to do list’ so my airing cupboard is tidy. The bedroom drawers have been tidied.
A bag of stuff for charity bag collection on Friday.
Work stuff up to date and new family to meet tomorrow.
Managing a dry walk this morning. There’s sheep in the deers field.
Getting some lovely RTC flowers.
Cleaning the oven shelves and doors.Chats on the phone.
Bumping into a few folk I’ve not seen in ages and having a nice catch up.
DD2 coming for tea tonight.6 -
- Joy of joys, have MOT fixed Doblo back, in time for tmrw's 150 miles back to BROH. 🤞for results. Not looking forward to filling up at £164⁹ per litre.😬🤐
2. Love this, newly on old eucalyptus stump felled several years ago.
3. Took small pause in church ahead of tmrw and found our organist practising. Both of us happy.
4. New thick all sorts veggie soup is excellent, especially with bits from an emporium rotisserie chicken, rtc £1.29 from nearly £7!
5. Read an extraordinary account from book pile, so no Lent infringement 🙂, by Linda Calvey, 'Life Inside', published 2024. Had never heard of her, UK's longest-serving woman prisoner - 19 years. Certainly in accord with her re: more than a few staff better behind bars than more than a few of the prisoners..... Turning prisons, probation and even visiting over to private enterprise was just more profit for already established profiteers.🤬
#See my last post had first bit removed. No idea why, nor what it was! See below, but haven't been......???
ampersand waswarnedfor this.(this wording in red)- 1. Ongong lurgy of late, no voice etc but gave in and went to Dr. Antibiotics ahoy+🤞
- All blessings and springtime wishes for all the recent birthdays and newborn family members.

A busy day of in and outs!
Hairdresser first thing, she very kindly came in early to squeeze me in this morning.
Just a shame the weather has been shocking all day, we had weather warnings and yep horrid as forecast.
Supermarket and had to go through self service big till as no tills staffed yet two staff yakking at the self service basket tills, this is not a pleasure! Just a growl!
Bit of baking this morning. Made brownies, meringues and a malteser slice. More to do tomorrow.Came home and blew up 56 balloons for a balloon arch! I can still smell the balloons on my hands! But it looks pretty.
Out to work this afternoon to meet a new family. And sat and wrote and wrote! Sent off. And just had feedback. They are happy with it. Phew!
Got a bag of chips on the way home. Quick chat with sister as I ate them.DD2 popped in with a loan of their table. Have some friends coming over at the weekend. Needed extra space.
And I am so ready for my bed!

well it looks like it’s me again!
Up early.
Baking this morning. Made banana loaf and a lemon drizzle.
Had some work things to do.
Wrote a huge list of things to do and all but one thing done.It has been the most weather filled day! Snow to start then heavy heavy rain. Hail. Sunshine. Wind . Thunder. Rain. On repeat all day! And so blooming cold!
Painted two chairs that were in the garage. Luckily they didn’t have stuff sat on them unlike the other two…that’s a job for another day! When I bought my large table last year it came with six chairs. I had stripped it all back from the most ghastly orange stain but hadn’t needed all the chairs at that point. But I need them , for tomorrow and couldn’t bear for anyone to have to sit on an orange chair!
Had nice chat with The Pups dog walker when they got back their walk…poor things they were both soaked!

For the last few days,
Catching up on the last 20 minutes of Sherlock after falling asleep to it the night before, helped me whilst doing some chores.
The treat of salmon for tea, it’s currently on offer at the emporium and my favourite fish.
Capt S didn’t have to be asked to light a fragrant wax melt after cooking the above, our dining room is a bit of a thoroughfare and cooking smells can linger.
Tuesday was fine & dry so made the most of it in the garden, I cut down the fennel which had been left for the birds to enjoy the seeds over winter. The green bin smelt lovely afterwards.
Also gave my houseplants a spa day, had a good sort through the shed and managed to shop from home for new pots so repotted three of them and generally cosseted.
The horses were in on Wednesday due to high winds so I went over in the morning, girlie was happy enough tucked up in her stable with her pals all around. Did some tidying up maintenance on her legs but left her mane long for the time being as colder weather predicted for later in the week.Appalling weather in the afternoon so snuggled up with C dog to watch an old Midsomer Murders, hot chocolate may have been consumed.
Oh, and a very young Hugh Bonneville popped on it us as well, he of my nighttime bed reading!
Long chat with the old boy who looks after the grounds of the estate, one small dead tree had come down along with lots of bits from the beech trees but otherwise all ok.
Just the one casualty, a rose, from my lovely bouquet so took that out and refreshed the water.
Turned cold as forecasted and glad that I hadn’t packed away scarves etc.
Trip down to the GC to pick up a planter for Mum’s grave, she did so love spring flowers 💐 also picked up a Polyanthus in a pot for my brother’s, as close as I could get to his footie team’s colours. Will go over on Sunday.
Chat with young friend at yard and she is doing her first dressage test of the year on Sunday as well, will try to get down depending on above.
Usual Friday evening of old TOTP’s and a glass of wine.

Morning all.
Very quiet here, hope all our absent friends are ok.
Not a lot going on here though we feel to have had a busy week, thankfully with little excitement - just as we like it. Oh dear, that makes us sound very boring!!
Recent pleasures:
It's cold again but a definite feeling in the air of nature stirring.
Got the confirmation letter of my scan results, good that all appears fine but I'm sad that, after a year, it looks like my sense of smell and taste is unlikely to return to any degree. There are worse things, just miss it, but glad the scan was favourable.
The plastering is all done and looks fantastic. Quality tradesmen (tradespeople?) are worth their weight in gold.
Hubby's play is going well, very atmospheric lighting and sets, though he says the smoke machine has been temperamental! It seemed fine when I went last night and amazing that an amateur theatrical group can stage and perform a Shakespearean play to such a fantastic standard. A matinee today and then they are done for this production.
Some sorting and booking of trips and holidays, lots to look forward to.
Half way through March already, hard to believe. The year is speeding by.
Hope you have a good weekend, whatever you are up to.

afternoon all 😊. Thank you for all your kind good wishes.
More excitement today, we are spending our first night at the new bungalow! The beds arrived on Monday and are now made up with lovely new bedding and the curtain tracks were fitted this morning so we will have some privacy as the bedrooms are at the front of the bungalow. Luckily the 2 sets of expensive matching curtains I had made for the old house fit the big bay bedroom windows perfectly. The handyman who fitted the tracks also hung the curtains. This was a great help as they are heavy, I just needed to rearrange them and get the pleats sitting nicely.
We have had all sorts of weather today sun ☀️, cold wind and very heavy hail.
My sister came down this morning so we had a nice cuppa and cheese scone (our favourite) at the garden centre and then I had a spending spree at a the Range. I got some lovely tea, coffee and sugar canisters, matching bread bin and lots of other matching bits like trays, placemats, coasters etc. I also got a tray of mini daffodils 🌼 and a bag of compost. Very happy with all my purchases.
Yesterday we were back to near old home as I had my hair cut and then visited and helped old friend who has just come out of hospital. OH met up with a friend for breakfast.
On Wednesday I went for my first ever facial! It was lovely and included arm/hand massage and a head massage, it was so lovely and I think I will budget for a monthly treat of some sort. I also got my thinning eyebrows sorted.
Apart from swimming on Thursday (36 lengths) our time has been spent ferrying boxes from the rental, unpacking them and sorting out all the warranties for the new appliances. We are now just relaxing, no tv as yet and pizza and a glass of wine later. Nothing more adventurous to cook until I have sussed the new oven!Have a fab evening everyone and Happy Mothering Sunday to all us mums! 🥂💐

For Wednesday, we took MIL out for the day, we went over to St Margaret's Bay and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the sea, we were really lucky with the weather.
Enjoying the driving and seeing the various plants and trees coming into bloom.
We had a lovely lunch there and then drove over to the big CS in Dover, this time we found a chocolate mug we collect, and a big fleece blanket for the animals, there’s a theme here.
Then we went over to Samphire hoe to walk out the cobwebs.
Yesterday
I went for a mammogram, the unit was in the Tesco car park, so I had planned to go in for their half price meat offer, but then I noticed the RTC’s very full shelves, not the best discounts as early in the morning but still worth snaffling the mince as well. And then we shopped a little so of course this time retail won, and it was more expensive due to the meats. All being frozen down now, and custard tarts for later.
I hung a couple of wash loads out, and bought them back in.
For today
Up and at em, got the house presentable and deep cleaned the living room.
I’ve been wanting cake for a long time, so thought it must be a bit better to cook it myself, so I’ve cooked up a chocolate chip cake which has received compliment from DH.
I also cooked up a crumble and meal planned.
The pair of woodpeckers visited the feeders.
