The sun, where….hoping to see it soon.
Cooked up a roast dinner today, and waffles went with it rather well as I didn't have any potatoes.
Watched a lovely if stressful series on Netflix who do seem to be trying.
Cleaned and re filled all the bird feeders.

Pleasures for today
- Dog walk this morning with a friend, although the rain arrived on the second half of the walk.
- Home and changed into dry clothes.
- Cup of coffee to warm me up
- Beef casserole cooked in oven - delicious.
- Attempted flapjacks with fruit in - however flapjacks taste more like crunchy toffee - might be nice with ice cream.

For the last few days,
Sunshine and a fair bit of it, lifts my spirits like nothing else.
Spending time in the garden, lots of cutting back of honeysuckles, buddleia and climbing roses.
The first gardening stiffness of the year after all that stretching and bending!A red kite flying just above the cottage was seen off by a crow, half its size but am guessing the kite got too close to a nest.
Also saw the sparrow hawk perched on top of our big hedge, beautiful but deadly.
A sunny afternoon spent with my horse, bit of work done then she dozed off while I clipped off her lower legs.
Still enjoying Small Prophets.
United won again and are now second in the league but more importantly they are mathematically safe from relegation!

Sunday was a quiet day. Up early with a doggy boy then dozed off again.
Chat to friend on phone.Pottered about. Packed the car with stuff for caravan.
Had a lovely chat with DD1 first thing this morning
Then took said stuff to caravan . We had a drizzly and windy walk then the sun kind of keeked through the clouds on the way back. Was there for about an hour. Unpacking things and wiping down stuff. Doors and decking a bit grim after a very wet winter so they were first to get cleaned. Don’t have water yet so just had to use wipes which I don’t usually use!
Even had the windows open to allow some fresh air.
And home!
Chat to sister.
Mobile library day. Hurrah!
Then had a text to say a gift had been handed in for me at workplace so popped down for that. Beautiful bouquet of flowers and a box of chocs…left the chocs to be shared out. Beautiful words written in a card. Means so much. I don’t expect gifts but it’s always nice when you get them. The joy of daylight.
and the joy of daffodils flowering in the garden.6 -
Pleasures for today

Me again.
Mmmmm, could just eat some chewy toffee but at the dentist tomorrow so maybe not.
Recent pleasures:
- Little grandson has finally decided on his birthday treat and chosed the Cadbury World and National Space Centre option. He said it was a toss up between that and money but thinks the trip will be worth more than the money he would get so he will opt for that. He's not wrong.
2. Picking up eldest grandson after the dentist tomorrow to bring him home for a couple of days to celebrate his 20th (!!!) birthday. He is very grateful to be saving the train fare home.
3. Had a hair cut and colour so much more presentable, in the middle of changing styles and we agreed it's now the right side of the growing out process. Even my lad commented on it looking good.
4. Long chat with brother this morning and plans in the process of being made for overnight stays - one at his and one at ours. We only live an hour apart but can then enjoy a couple of days together each time with a nice meal, cocktails and wine - and good company too.
5. Been a bit off reading recently - usually one of my greatest pleasures - but the latest batch of new releases from the library has piqued my interest and currently reading an excellent autobiography.
Heading off to bed shortly. Still not happy with the formatting of my posts, everyone else seems to have got the hang of it all. Yet again this seems to be all over the place, apologies.

Hello.
Up early as was heading out early but after a rubbish start to sleep…I woke up 45 minutes later, I managed to sleep till 5am…this is a lie in.
Hospital with DD2 first thing and I was driving. Rush hour traffic and roadworks were not a pleasure but being there as early meant we had a parking space! Hurrah. I sat with a library book and people watched.
Got home quicker than it had taken to get there!
Took doggies to CP for a run / walk. Dry but windy.
And home. Friend called to see if I was in so she came and shared cheese and crackers and an apple which was what I was having for tea!Good chat and laugh!
Long hot water bottles…what an invention 😆

Amazing to see a glimpse of spring, watching a couple of bumbles moving about in our crocus’ and DH swears he saw a butterfly.
In the spirit of spring, we walked a couple of ferrets around to a shop and had a long chat.
Cold Christmas turkey and chips.
