For yesterday
- Saw the sun - fairly briefly but enough to be appreciated.
- Good day at work both managers not in.
- It was light when I left work - it makes the day seem shorter.
- Enjoying watching the winter Olympic. Can’t understand how they can do some of the events.
- DH home after a few days away.

For yesterday,
Doing a clean up of the garden and lovely to see so many spring flowers pushing up although not so many daffs, do wonder if the wet weather has rotted some.
Made a loaf and what was a simple look for a particular dish turned into a big kitchen cupboard clean.
Message from yard to say that girlie had broken free and ‘ gone a little wild ‘ in their words. Cue panicked drive over, no sign of yard staff 🤨 but other owners said that she had just gotten away from them, raced over to the lush grass out the front and got her head down. Her legs and belly were very muddy so cleaned her up but really, bit worried that they were worried and considered that wild behaviour iyswim.
Home, restorative cup of tea and talked things over with beloved.
Snorkers and potato casserole for tea then watched the United game, not our best performance but it’s another point and still unbeaten at home.

Chit chatting about some proper time away, we’ve not been away for a few years now, last year we cancelled our booking as FIL passed. This year we are wondering about creeping up on it and booking it last minute. Looking forward to the possibility.
Some proper cooking up tonight, a Thai curry courtesy of an aldi sauce, Christmas turkey leftovers and cooking up a pot of brown rice with various turmeric, spring onions, peppers through it, honestly it sounds better than it was.
We had to pop out earlier for litter, as we were near the Iceland I checked for reductions and picked up some half price hot cross buns and a bag of 25p frozen vegetables.
Not getting nearly enough done, but also not feeling worried, as it will still be there, and instead watching a little of the Winter Olympics.

For yesterday,

it’s my birthday 🎂 today and my friend’s and my sister’s (we’re twins 🤣) lots of messages and some cards 😊
OH and I are going out to lunch to a lovely seafood restaurant at the marina, should be good.
Sister and my niece (whose birthday it was last week) are coming down on Saturday for lunch at the local Turkish restaurant.
Met up for the first time since moving with a friend (ex colleague) who lives down here. Much catching up and laughs and cake ( no chance of the diet happening at the moment) she printed off some paperwork for me which OH and I signed and sent off to the solicitor, so we should soon be completing on our bungalow very soon🤞Just had a message from my old friend at old home town that she is in hospital with pneumonia ☹️
Dull but not raining here at the moment, can’t wait for Spring!
Hugs to those feeling poorly or SAD, the Spring will help 🥰

Morning all.
Many Happy Returns, Paulie, sounds like you are having siome lovely birthday celebrations and fingers crossed for a succesful completion on your new home.
Still not sure about the spacing and stuff on this new format so bear with…..
Anyway, some recent pleasures:
- An odd dry day here and there and we had a glimmer of sunshine earlier in the week, all gone now of course but the longer days are creeping in.
- Just back from a couple of days away, just the two of us which was lovely and broke up a grey month.
- Theatre trip to see Sunny Afternoon - totally brilliant, I think even those too young to remember The Kinks in their heyday would enjoy it. We, of course, remember them as if it were yesterday! Thinking we may catch up with it again later in the tour as would love to see it again.
- Some shopping and lunching before we travelled home. Have been looking for some new kichen storage jars since we moved here seven years ago, none seemed just what I wanted (fussy in the extreme) but found just the thing I'd been waiting for. Took a chance as it's a long way to take them back if not right but fortunately they are perfect. Sometimes it's just the little things!
- Granddaughter and family popped in when we got home to show us their new puppy, little 9 week old dachshund, tiny with ears like velvet. Also managed a quick cuddle with luscious baby who has just turned one and isn't much into cuddling, preferring to explore the contents of the kitchen cupboards.
Still drizzling here but hope you have some sunshine where you are. Have a good day whatever you are up to.

Wednesday was another quiet day. I’m kind of in self preservation mode at this time of year.
Went a walk at CP and oh my goodness it was so blooming cold!Had a chat with sister.
I’m watching ER on Netflix so just been kind of bingeing on that! In between doing things!
Today went into town with DD2. Finally remembered to get bin liners! ( wasn’t paying supermarket price for them!) and got a lovely straw bag in the charity shop. Last year I was keeping an eye out for one to use as my swimming pool bag and today I found the perfect bag which looks absolutely new but is actually a St Michael’s one for Dunnes in Ireland! So according to google it’s vintage! And it has the most pretty yellow polka dot print on the fabric lining! So I’m quite happy with that!
I was dropped off and have had a quiet afternoon though just off the phone to friend for an hour…so not that quiet. And heating has just been clicked on as it’s blooming cold and I’ve decided I don’t want to be cold!
