Morning everyone.
Reading along with everyone's pleasures (great news, Paulie) but very little to report from this end. Humming along in the quiet lane for now and quite happy with that.
Hope you all have the best Christmas you can and a peaceful and happy 2026.

Woohoo 🎉 PaulieH that is good news!
For the Solstice weekend,
Smiled at a ladies tote bag that said ‘ Please forgive me for anything I’ve said whilst hungry’ oh yes!
My sleep pattern is rubbish at the moment but oh yes to an afternoon nap.
Putting up the tree on Sunday morning, all the decorations that we’ve collected over the years and memories they bring back.
Treat of Sunday lunch at our favourite hotel, lovely atmosphere with families and friends celebrating together.
The Yule log was put on the hearth and candles lit as it got dark.5 -
Hello. In bed already.Up early.
Down town to drop off some work place gifts. Quick blether.
Then drove down to other end of town Supermarket…goodness they were directing traffic…I was only there to use the carpark. Wanted to go to favourite charity shop. Got a nice big lampshade . And a lovely wreath.Had work late afternoon. The Chap kindly drove me there as it was dark and I don’t see well to drive in dark and especially not on motorway. And then Santa came round on his tractor! Local charity event that I love each year.8 -

Am once again awake at silly o'clock though did go to bed early last night as was zonked! 5 mse pleasures for yesterday
1) left overs for breakfast - these were from Choir party for breakfast - very tasty
2) eating frogs - 3 work emails that all took quite a lot of work
3) bus trips - bus was full and took much longer due to traffic jams - had excellent chat to someone up from Edinburgh then with a friend I've not seen for a while
4) friends - i was headed for lunch with 2 colleagues and an ex-colleague who'd taken voluntary severance in September - lots of gossip - who doesn't love gossip
5) happy coincidences - was going to drop a Christmas card off on my way back - friend lives opposite mennies - needed the loo so called into mennies with intention purely to go to loo and who should be there but DrM and the 'single men Christmas lunch' club - as he pulled up a stool next to him when I walked in would have been rude not to stay. Then we caught the bus home which means i still need to deliver that card!
The children had had a good day in Edinburgh, I cooked yummy butcher sausages for tea, in bed by 8:30 and I think asleep by 9 so maybe waking up at 5 wasn't so bad. Am enjoying Old Harry's Game20*25 for 2025: 489 / 5007 -
Up early and back at supermarket for 7am. Got loads of fresh fruit very RTC. Still in date.Home. Put it all away ( one of my most loathed jobs) then hoovered upstairs/downstairs, washed all the floors. Cleaned all the bathrooms. Washing done and hung on clothes horses ( another loathed job…though I actually enjoy hanging washing on the line)
Went to visit a friend. I had recently taken a service for their loved one. Given a lovely card with beautiful words written and a lovely pen as a gift which was very kind. Then quick home to feed doggy then down to train station to pick up some Australian travellers! Big hugs and a let’s try and squeeze you and your luggage into my car…
Then had to pick up a pup and squeeze him in too.My doggy was delighted to see his big sister.Made them lunch. Then they went a walk and I enjoyed the quiet. Then home, made macaroni, mince pies. A small 3 tiered cake. Will crumb coat then ice tomorrow…at some point in another busy day 😆
Nice chatter then they crashed with jet lag.And DD2 just picked up Pup.7 -

night all20*25 for 2025: 489 / 5006 -
For the last couple of days,
Up and at’em on Monday morning to do last bits of food shopping, Capt S came too and we had the treat of a coffee plus savoury croissant in the emporium cafe.
My big girl had her last farrier visit of the year, busy yard with three other horses seeing their farrier too so lots of hammering etc! Bribed my girl with a hay net.
Wrapped the last of the presents so all ready.
Hoovers and dusters wielded so house now all clean, I did upstairs and Capt S down, I like having help ☺️DB popped round and we had a catch up over tea & mince pies, DN is now flying out with him on the 29th ahead of the Sydney test, let’s hope they see an England win!
Got to the yard only to see my girl joining in on a mass zoomie, it was like a crazy tsunami going around the paddocks 🙈 fetched her in and she was COVERED in mud, hose applied and rug hung up to dry out.
Off to Uni city to pick up a few ordered bits from Mr Sparks, we used to have one in horsey town and hope to have again 🤞 all done in an hour and home to find a thoughtful parcel by the front door, thank you 🙏 Amps6
