For yesterday,
Funny old day as the engineer was coming to fit the new boiler so the three of us were confined to the lounge, some admin completed and then books read.
By 11am we were all a bit fed up so coats & leads on and off we went for a long leg stretch around the back of the studs.
Then to the farm shop for lunch, Mum had packed a bag of gravy bones & treats so C dog had something too along with one or two of Mum’s chips.
Home and left beloved to it so while I went to see my other girlie. Oh my goodness the mud 🙈 but it gradually dried and I got the majority of it off.
Our old house is causing some problems as it accepts new technology and the engineer finally left at gone 7 with not all of the radiators working but by then we were ready to get straight into our PJ’s and enjoy what heat we had!

A quiet kind of day ( I’m aiming for a quite week)
Up early with doggy and then dozed off and woke up from the strangest of dreams!Stripped bed and managed to get it about 3/4 dry outside. And just remade it. Was very rainy to start and then it was windy but dry.
Did an ironing.Went out to pick up Pup.
DD2 came here after her work and we had mince for tea and I just cooked the carrots, peas and potatoes in it…and may have burnt the bottom of the pan! So it’s stepping overnight!Started a library book but not really feeling the love for it!Texts back and forth to sister.5 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Flat bit of kitchen roof leaked everywhere during the monsoon last night. Cleaned all that up. No more water has come through but that will be a job for when we come back from holiday.
3) Went to bigger son's house to play a board game.
4) Cleaned the bathroom, tidied, did a load of washing.
5) Made shepherds pie for tea and my brother came round.
6) Went back to bigger son's house to play Battlestar Galactica. I was a cylon and won!
7) Watching Grand Designs now.6 -
For yesterday,
Emptying the airing cupboard has prompted a declutter spree so two bags of linens plus a small LED branch thingy taken to Nexus for re-homing. Also tidied up the spare room and moved a storage unit.
Another day, another plumber but we ended up at the end of the day with less heating than we started off with, I’m eyeing up next week’s forecast and big dips in temperature with trepidation!
As always time spent with my horse, she quickly smelt out and gently demanded the parsnip in my pocket.
Bit of a freezer tea and then fell asleep during Shetland (again!)
Listened to the last of current episode of Uncanny in bed, Capt S snuggled down afterwards and said “oooh, that was a bit spooky wasn’t it”

Morning all.
Lovely to see blue sky and sunshine after some grey, damp days. Still very mild so putting the year on nicely.
A mixed and a mixed up week for us.
1) Both at the dentist on Monday after an awful journey (we are still with our dentists where we used to live so an hour away - normally), biblical rain and lots of spray on the motorway and then home in the dark, in the rush hour, in the rain. After two hours and with a very stiff jaw, I have to return to finish this part of the job in a month's time for another two hour appointment. Hubby's tooth was still too infected to remove so he had to return on Tuesday and then yesterday before the deed was finally done. There is pleasure in the fact that it's done but has taken up most of the last three days.
2) Lovely after a traumatic time (the journey, not the dentist) to get home and put the kettle on.
3) The play is going well, I am there tonight.
4) Builders came to put in a pad stone for the last ceiling steel in the 'big house'. Finally, after just celebrating our 6 year anniversary here in October, the last acro prop was removed and we stand alone. Still a lot to do in son's side but it's taking shape and will be fab when finished.
5) Made a start on sorting and clearing ready for the family Christmas (sorry!) get-together at the end of this month. Can't believe that, for the first time ever, I will have to put my Christmas tree up in November but there's no way round it, can't have a Chritmas party without really!
Right, better crack on. Have a good day, hope you see some sunshine.5 -

Again, as & arrived, bounced along fence and up tree.

1. Was her hair her hat, or was her hat her hair???....which went for both of them, ladies in their late 50s, inseparable as they left emporium.
2. Set Midweek Communion as first up+out test. Managed sortakinda - mouthed words, when not coughing, sneezing, spluttering, over- balancing etc, well away from everyone else. But another lovely weather day.
3. 💓Bag of kind+lovely😋+🪻found on gate with matching card from artist+church friend when leaving this morning.
4. Shocked by bonkers+counterproductive new system at surgery with No Appointments now. Form-filling blah blah instead, poorly written and not thought through. That apart, absolute non-starter when & has no connectivity, signal or voice and surgery has v.little too.. How on earth can GP examine anyone by phone? Have NEVER been a GP pest! & back in Doblo, wondering about accessing Addenbrookes a+e re: antibiotic something maybe?when receptionist rushes out, says come back in for 1525h appointment card.
5.Ok ,post appointment now with 'loaded cosh to see everything off - and straight back if.... promise ?'etc. etc. .How lucky &has been again.
Apparently, silly form system forced upon them as 'triage' trial. Wrote ? asking if they knew word''s source/meaning, i. e. trier, French=to sort. No. More meaningless nonsense.

Yes, we have the silly form system in Oxford & it is doing horrific things to blood pressure. Blessings upon them, the receptionists are working with-and-around the system to try to get those who do need to be seen, seen pronto. But to insist on an inaccessible system as National Policy strikes me as a very reliable vote loser utterly daft.6

Hello. It has been a day most ghastly here. Much wind and rain and temps have suddenly dropped.
Up very early. And did doze off again.Chat to friend early. Then had a work related video call for an hour.Sister called.Had bought an RTC pineapple on Monday so thought I’d better eat it! So had that and an orange for lunch.
Celebrated my business with a broken packet of biscuits from my work bag…out of three wee biscuits I think I got about one and the dog ate the many crumbs! 😆
Had some soup for tea and will have another orange before I head upstairs. With a hot water bottle I think!6 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the local SEND college cafe for a pot of tea.
3) The chef recognised me from months ago when I asked if he had any empty tomato puree tubes. He had saved 5 for me!
4) Had a message whilst driving home. My new nephew was born at 9a.m, 7 lbs 12! No problems.
5) Cleaned all the garage out ready for other people to look after old cat while we're away. I rigged up a quilt over a table with a little oil fired radiator underneath so her box can go under there if it gets cold.
6) Did other grotty jobs including washing rhe kitchen bin, cleaning the porch etc.
7) Moved a load of top soil and cleaned the patio. Planted some bulbs.
8) Have watched tv this evening.6 -
I’ve been lucky with some reductions snaffled away both frozen bits, and also some reduced crisps, I do like some crisps.
Broken biscuits have been broken open, but at least the cooked menu has been stuck to, which just reminded me to meal again
Reading a book in the sun.
Some cupboard sorting needed to fit the bedding in.
Slowly Re watching the stranger things series to refresh the memory.
