I do like wtfwjd? ampers
waves to pp
1) dd2's friend she'd come all the way up to see stood her up. no comment. very proud of how dd2 turned it round - she changed her ticket (last weekend she and her bf both off for a while), we went for lunch with her godfather then he dropped her off at the station for the 4pm. Guess at least friend let her know early in the day rather than just not turning up for the event!
2) friend's concert at the cathedral - very good - Dundee Symphony Orchestra - goodness though it rained. teddy parachute jump postponed due to weather
3) Sunday the usual choir (though was late as unusually the 9:06 bus did not show up and the next wasn't till 9:36)
4) Worked at home today and took time out for my fortnightly piano lesson - really happy how i'm improving, though still mistakes m'eh. The Arne speed is now above 80 (took me ages to work just the right hand up to 70 and suddenly it's taking off), the little shepherd (new piece last time) sounds pretty good, the 2nd chopin is slow but the 1st is nipping along and at the beginning i thought it impossible, and i've now got Satie's Gymnopedie. which really is 3. so that's 7 pieces! and scales. All for £8 a week
5) and the composer of the week (Radio 3) is Palestrina so in my happy place going through a previous PhD student's draft of 2nd paper from her thesis. Which I will now go back to.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Up early. Was dry, then wet, then dry, then sunny! So hurrah washing dried!Workety work today. Little bit to do for the service I have later this week…was just waiting on a bit from the family. And then I went to meet the nicest family this morning. Honestly it’s such a privilege to do what I do. And then came home and wrote and wrote all afternoon, sent it off at teatime and got such lovely feedback already…see that’s the ones I like best! When I’m not waiting in trepidation!Met a friend in supermarket car park and had a lovely chat…once again poor doggy left at home starving wondering if he was ever getting fed again!Had some pate on toast for my tea.Was sitting downstairs for a while with the patio doors open and listening to the birds. Had a wander round the garden…I feel pulling weeds could be a full time job!5

@LaineyT - That's my favorite part of houses, plus the kitchens in older houses. I have been known to ask security guards if they could take my camera and take pictures of the rooms especially when there are no photos in the guidebook or postcards. I even had a security guard go take a picture of the 1950's house in St. Fagan's Cardiff when it wasn't open while I was there the last time.
@topsyturphy - could I ask how you make your tuna pasta salad? I have been experimenting much to the dismay of my roommates. What do they expect - I haven't been the one to cook for several people since 2008. Just for myself - now they want me to cook.7 -
For yesterday,
Wot a scorcher and we are forecasted 30 degrees for the weekend, all the better for my tomatoes!
Coffee and a chat with my friend.
The sparrow squadron enjoying a cool bath.
Fetched my girlie in and it was a comfortable temperature in the barn, she was in a happy mood and I was the lucky recipient of many kisses, mainly for carrots but hey, you have to take it where you can don’t you ☺️Baby bunnies coming through the hedge to eat the clover in our grass.6 -

if I’m just making for me I cook roughly about 3 handfuls of wholewheat fusilli for about 12 mins once the water is boiling, then drain and run under cold water in a colinder until the pasta is cold. I tip into a container add some mayonnaise & stir it into the pasta, add a drained tin of tuna, I use tuna in brine. Add mixed lettuce leaves, cherry tomatoes cut into halves, mini cucumber chopped in small pieces, sometimes I add radish or chopped peppers or a tiny bit of red onion depending what I have - then when I’m ready to eat mix together. You could use a dressing on the pasta instead of mayo. I sometimes add avocado before serving too. I occasionally do the same with cooked chicken, ham or salmon too.
Pleasures for today
1. Training day at work, good to have a bit of timeout with the team.
2. More sunshine
3. Not a great sleep last night so will sleep better tonight.
4. Finished my audio book - reading a series of the Seven Sisters now on book 3.
5. Managed to eat healthily today, as when I weighed myself I was in double figures.

@topsyturphy - thank you very much. At 77, I am really just beginning to learn to cook. Took one of those tests on FaceBook that ask if you are a master chef. According to that I am - but it is from listening to three or four cooking shows that my roommate watches. I sit at the computer with my back to the tv - so the information sifts through but the actual cooking techniques just aren't there. No one would eat the stuff they make if they had a choice. I need a real cooking show. I guess I am just going to watch a lot of YouTube! My biggest problem is I can only stand for two or three minutes at a time due to spine problems. I've never seen recipes geared for that. I think I can do the pasta salad in bits and pieces while sitting down to get the veggies ready. So looks good. Thank you again.6

For yesterday,
Early morning garden perusal and I have some small, green tomatoes on my plants.
Off to BuryStEds and a quick look around for new tees, I have a bad habit of wearing mine to the yard and then have nothing nice for other times 🙈
Hot again so did also pop into Mr Marks for plenty of salad makings, when I got home I made a batch of pesto pasta and hard boiled some eggs.
At the yard and had a chat with the owner about girlie staying in during the day and going out at night, with temps expected to be 30 degrees at the weekend being inside a cool, airy barn and out of the sun seems a much better option for my beauty.
Easy tea of a fridge forage.6
