Good morning- I also wrote a post last night then it doesn’t appear to be here. However Happycas the words too and hot are said far too often for my liking 😆😆
But we are back to normal Scottish weather this morning! It’s currently lashing with rain and is pleasantly cool! Yay!Anyway yesterday I had an early morning walk where we saw tiny baby ducklings 🐣 and then last night three herons flew over the garden. And when I was out in the garden late last night I saw my first bats of the season. Was still light at 11pm.Hoping to feel more industrious today as it’s cooler. I really struggle with the heat!Have a good day5 -
For yesterday,
Up at 4am to welcome the solstice sunrise, magical.
Off to see my girl, she was comfortable and cool in the barn & happy to see her Mum along with carrots and an apple. Bit of cosseting, plenty of scratches and that wonderful silent conversation we have every day.
Just as I pulled up outside home the temperature gauge in the mini hit 30 so happy to hunker down for the afternoon, due to #1 there was a much needed snooze.
Ice-cream, plenty of ice-cream 😌
A decent breeze got up around 7 so we watered the pots and then sat outside for a bit.4 -
For yesterday
We popped out to drop a parcel off, and happened to notice the local fête, so had a meander around the stalls, and then around a local antique place but nothing was purchased, I tell a lie I did pick up a Jules Verne book for 50p.
A bit of a snacky dinner as it’s just too warm for food, but did find an ice cream to demolish.
I finished a book and while it gripped me all the way through it’s like they got bored with it at the end, very disappointing.
For today
We are both seeming a bit bleurgh, as are the animals, so we are taking it easy, but still managed
All cage bedding cleaned and out on the line, and our bedding is also a clean set.
Leftovers from Christmas form the topping for the shepherd’s pie the potatoes have been frozen and unfrozen, in food science terms I don’t know if that helps the diabetic or not as it maybe broke the starches up, and bolognaise base, served with greenery.
Watching the canal boat diaries, is so calming.

Quiet day with all the weather! Back to wet, windy, cool…and I quite liked it!Read a book from start to finish and I really enjoyed it.

For yesterday,
Tough night trying to sleep in the residue of Saturday’s heat so a real pleasure to wake up to a cooler morning.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Fed, tied up and pinched out the tomatoes. Saw a honey bee which is rare in our garden as we mostly have solitary species, they are all enjoying the various lavender bushes.
Reading, so much reading. Got through Grey Wolf and am now impatient for Black Wolf due out later in the year.
A lovely cool breeze all day meant going up to bed was much more pleasurable and we pulled the sheet plus blanket up.4 -
Hi…these are ampersand’s OSP. She has been unable to post them here and has asked me to share them 🥰1. Sunshine, plenty of.2. Sarcoma day in Bristol. Was a less common non-amputee🤲. &'s fave 8' tall 12-year old surgeon came and we chatted happily over lunch.😁 Again, how fortunate has & been so far.As for this chap:3. A few deliberately lost days between then and now, car camping around South Wales. Awaking to cows and/or sheep for a few days. All good.4. Watched Los Pumas beat Albion in a very middle of nowhere rural/coastal pub. Great 🏉 evening.5. Unexpected Anglian Water refund en route. Knew nothing about it, so very grateful.6

And these are mine.
Up early.
Went to CP had a lovely walk and a nice swim. Started a new library book. And remade my bed which is a faff as there’s not much room for manhandling a big quilt! With a dog sitting on the floor watching me!
Home…just before it started absolutely lashing with rain!So I just sat and read my book until I finished it.
Had a steak pie with veggies for dinner.
Then popped over to DD2 and then friends on way home.I am beyond horrified with what is happening in our world at the moment.8 -
Is it possible that & might briefly be able to thank mhags, post her thanks💓and thank other ospers for all their recent posts?
Has anyone else had trouble signing in, with 'verifying you're human' blahblah, which accepts & is, then repeats and restarts, going nowhere?

belated happy birthday @Suffolksue.
had a very busy but enjoyable weekend
1) Friday went to the fishers in the ferry (mhags will know!) for RNLI fund-raising evening - band very good, weather glorious and bought a pair of Aladdin sane flash earrings
2) community bbq Saturday afternoon - i was on bbq duty, an honour reserved usually only for males of the species - i am honoured!
3) quick jump into shower, all clothes into washing machine, change into slinky black number (am down over a stone hooray) for gbf's 70th birthday celebratory dinner (did pace myself at the bbq!) - he is also a Bowie fan so I wore the Aladdin Sane earrings
4) lovely lovely meal and i had taken the last of the Christmas crackers (there were 7, we were 6 so the extra went off with one of the couples for their grand-daughter). i had also taken a candelabra cake candle holder with 9 candles and they put it on his sticky toffee pudding (waitress said supposing he hadn't ordered pudding? oh he always orders pudding i replied!)
5) and Sunday afternoon went to the 100th slow session (ceilidh music played slow enough for me to play the bass on the accordion!) in Tayport.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For yesterday,
Saw a female greenfinch in the garden so hopefully that means we have a bonded pair who will have babies.
The yard sent me a photo of pony covered in mud and shavings after coming in & having a good roll!
Breezy day and washing quickly dried on the line.
Said pony took a fair bit of cleaning, had a good chat with friend who came with me from other yard.
Being cool enough to put the oven on, I made a loaf and made sure that there was enough leftover dough for us to have pizza for tea.
