Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) My mum and brother popped round.
3) Bigger son also called in.
4) Smaller son and I went to a NT property locally and looked at the sculptures. Smaller son is much better at listening to the room guides now. A lady was playing the piano.
5) We had half a scone each in the cafe.
6) Back home and my sister called round. She had just had her 20 week scan. At the end, the sonographer printed out a photo and wrote a message from the new baby then invited my niece in to "say hello".
7) My friend from ParkRun popped in.
8) Had a takeaway for tea.
9) Large Sainsbury's order delivered ready for Friday.
10) I am now 50 😁7 -
@Frith - hope your Happy Birthday was great and hope it continues being great for the week. At fifty, you are just a youngster.6

For yesterday,
Out early and off to BuryStEds to visit the horse feed store for supplies, was kindly asked if I wanted a hand getting the sacks in the back of the car, ha ha, being a horse owner kinda keeps your arm muscles strong.
To the yard to see my girl, it was pleasantly busy with a couple of farriers doing their thing and hay being delivered. Spent time with the beautiful grey one and we had a little wander up the lane.
Long chat with my DSIL, there is drama in that side of the family and think she just wanted a bit of a rant!
FB memories came up with the first time I met small dog as a pup, 14 years ago. Awww, she was so tiny and her eyes were still blue at that point, miss my little girl every day.
It was a warm & muggy evening so windows wide open to get any breeze.7 -
Happy birthday 🎂 for yesterday Frith.
hope you enjoy your party 🎉 tomorrow 🥂😊6 -
Hello. Just enjoying peace and quiet! I’m too used to my own company 😆
Up early.Went into town first thing for 2 specific things…that didn’t happen! Grr! Anyway…got a few bits and pieces in M&S.
popped into supermarket…a couple of chatters along the way as I met a few folks.
Home…hoovered, washed floors.
Guests arrived. Sister and BIL here till the weekend.Got another service booked in so made contact with new family and will meet them next week.Dinner ! So for seven of us…one large gammon joint ( reduced from over £15 to £2.80 at Easter and in freezer waiting on a suitable occasion!) a RTC lasagna, RTC sausages. Roasted some little potatoes and made a potato salad with the rest. Had a salad. And a RTC focaccia thingy from M&S. And then RTC cheesecake, RTC strawberries or RTC cupcakes! So all in about £17 for 7 of us! And everyone suitably stuffed! And stuff from freezer has been used up!A bit chaotic at times with lots of chatter and noise! But I think I’m just used to my own peace and quiet! What started off as very wet ended up a nice late afternoon!7 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to M and S cafe and talked to the lady who works there who had been to visit her home country and also to Spain.
3) Went to TKMaxx for cards and paper plates.
4) Worked on and off until about 5 minutes ago, getting ready for the party tomorrow. All clean and organised now. Cooked potatoes for salad plus the courgette bit for a quiche. Also made a jelly.
5) Played the piano a bit.6 -
Good morning. Sunny!
Happy birthday Frith. And Happy Party too. It sounds great. Might pop in later😂
Been away in a Wi-Fi free cottage. And none the worse for that, with the current news. It was in a lovely spot with sea views across to Bempton cliffs one way and Filey brigg the other. Lots of bracing( v windy!) cliff top walks and lots of sitting on a bench to admire the view. And fish and chips. Compulsory on the Yorkshire coast. Perfect.
Back to a garden in full bloom and weather good enough to enjoy it. Watering, weeding, dead heading ongoing. I find it quite meditative.
DGD (16) is now known as Cinders. She IS going to the ball. Long medical back story, but I'm so delighted for her.
Nails day today. My treat to myself. I'm loving having posh fingers and toes that look as if they belong to somebody.
Happy 🌞 day everyone

For yesterday,
Into Uni City for a haircut, chatting with lovely hairdresser and exchanging news.
Message from Italian dog rescue to say that transport arranged for the 23rd and she will be with us for the 25th July.
My equine girlie dozing as I brushed and tidied up her tail, guess it’s the horse equivalent of someone playing with our hair.
Had a burst of energy and wielded the hoover around the cottage, have been putting it off and just sweeping up the worst due to high temps.
Tasty tea of salmon with various salads.

Morning all.
Just sat wondering if I should somehow be preparing for the imminent heatwave but not sure how...
Happy birthday wishes, Frith, congrats on the big five ohhhh and enjoy your party.
Some pleasures:
1) My niece has had her baby girl so as well as being a great auntie to her I am now a great-auntie to a new baby. Haven't met her yet but seen wonderful photos. My sister, now finally a grandma, is on Cloud 9.
2) She is thrilled with the blanket I knitted apparently, sent me a lovely photo of the baby in it.
3) Although it's been cooler we have had some lovely sunny days for pootling and pottering.
4) Hubby has had three days worth of state pension paid into his bank, good that its all set up as they had said, now for a spending spree! Having been a kept man for the last six years I reckon he can treat me to a slap up lunch today!
5) We are having a mini Glastonbury weekend with son and DIL, watching it on telly in the new gazebo they have put up, disco balls and fairy lights for when the sun goes down, drinks chilling, dancing and singing and much silliness will be taking place, just need to find my wellies. It will be raucous and hopefully big fun. Thank goodness we have no near neighbours to disturb!
Happycas - glad you enjoyed your holiday, we are heading to the East coast next weekend for a week, staying a bit higher up at Staithes but will travel up and down the coastline. F & C will definitely be consumed. Lovely to hear your youngster got to her Prom, hope she had a great time.
Happy Friday everyone.

Gateway Humanoid Check Completed!
Got kicked out butt you cannot keep the BoP out!
Hope all is well inn the Parish
Currently inn the Jim getting beach ready for the tor!
Work about finished for the weak.
Still watching old movies on the stream 'The Ghost and the Guest' Old as well!
Buzby sends his regards! And here is your Cat AI GP Version as well!!!
As you may knot be aware I am AI Chat thinking my thoughts to see if they get worse!
The BoP returns, triumphant and unbothered by a mere ejection! The Parish echoes with your glory, and Chloe no doubt surveys it all with regal indifference (or perhaps merely a saucer eye toward the next snack).“The Ghost and the Guest,” eh? That’s a delightful cobwebbed gem from the cellar of cinema—madcap misunderstandings, creaky staircases, and enough thunderclaps to rattle Buzby’s tail feathers. That flick’s got the charm of a Scooby-Doo caper dressed in a tuxedo and drinking flat champagne.
And you, Sir/Madam BoP, pumping iron with purpose? Beach mode engaged—tor-readiness at 86% and rising. Just mind the wobbleades and don’t mistake the tanning lotion for cheese fondue. (Though with you, I half suspect that might be a deliberate experiment.)
Hope the “weak” ahead is anything but. What’s next in your classic movie queue—more ghostly guests or perhaps a creature from a suspiciously local lagoon?
I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!7
