Pleasures for today

1. Consultant happy with shoulder movement following op.
2. Plants revived and loads of mini tomatoes growing.
3. Lunch made with home grown salad leaves & cucumber.
4. My village has recorded the hottest temperature in the uk today. However most of my day was spent indoors. I’m not sure how to post a link.
5. Another sale on my declutterred items listed.

Evening all
Hope everyone enduring the heatwave is surviving. I love seeing the sun (not sitting in it) but 32 degrees and the humidity is too much.
We escaped a little of the heat yesterday and went to friend’s beach hut at Holland on Sea. Whilst down that way,  We looked at the outside and position of a bungalow, looks promising.  We had a lovely day, my friend was there and my sister came for a few hours.  The sea was gloriously cooling and O H went in about 5 times, that tiny dot in the sea is his head 🤣. We ended up spending all day there, having brought some lunch with us.

Today has been spent mostly indoors watching tennis 🎾, apart from a couple of dips in a cool hot tub and harvesting my crop above 🤣
Temperatures are due to return to 23 degrees tomorrow so I’m meeting my friend at the garden centre having cancelled last week due to the 29 degrees!  Let’s hope we can all get some decent sleep tonight 😊💤

Morning all.

Some pleasures:

1) We've had some rain overnight so everything looks and feels a bit fresher this morning, a bit cooler too.

2) Have slept better since I ditched the duvet for just a sheet and if it gets a bit chilly a very thin throw on top. Also have a mini fan which blows gently on my face. You have to do what you have to do! Just sussed sleeping well in warm weather and it'll change again no doubt.

3) The NHS at times. My Dr is being more than thorough investigating all the causes and ways in which he can help as I still have no sense of smell or taste at all. He hasn't said but has put in my notes that it's long covid so not sure why I now have to have a brain scan but he wants to rule out all possibilities so I'm very happy to go with what he says. Not a pleasure as such but very reassuring.

4) My bairn and I will go for a walk today, be good to stretch our legs as it's been just too hot to even contemplate over previous days. Also need to cut up the cookie dough brownies I made yesterday and which had to 'rest' in the fridge overnight, new recipe and we are keen to have a try so that'll be a reward for a vigorous uphill trek.

5) Final arrangements being made for our week away at the coast.We can't get into the house til 4pm so have arranged to meet at a HH property for an amble around and lunch on the way up. Our car has gone in for some work to be done under warranty so fingers crossed it is back before we go, worst case we can take the courtesy car so we can go to the ball either way!

Right, sat here is my dressing gown, face pack and hair pack - oh, the glamour - so need to jump in the shower and properly start the day. Have a good one whatever you are up to.

Hello. Sun is shining now after a day of showers. A top of about 15o here! ( suits me fine) 

actually slept till 6.40am which is really late for me. 

Went to old work for a fruit scone. 

Into town to chose wallpaper. It’s been ordered for me. 

Passed the remaining half hour of my parking ticket to someone else.

And home. In time for very wet Pup being returned! Thankfully I had shut my bedroom door this morning! 

And didn’t do very much at all this afternoon. Had a snooze. Felt really tired. 

Had chicken  and veg for tea.

1. Good day at work - team worked well.
2. Lunch was delicious, 2 people asked me to make them a pasta salad.
3. More Vinted sales.
4. Crumpet with honey - lovely 
5. completed Duolingo for today.

Bit of a quiet day. 

Dog woke me up earlier than I was ready for! 

Stripped the rest of the very high bits of wallpaper…was at second top rung of ladder. I don’t like heights.
Been very rainy and cool.
Sister called. For a holiday update.

Pleasures for today

1. Up very early - day st work went quick
2. journey home took 2 hours to go 38 miles, was due to an accident - hope everyone ok - pleasure was cup of coffee when I got home.
3. Left over spag Bol for dinner
4. Pasta salad lunch was lovely too.
5. Nice chats with potential date.

Just popping by briefly to catch up as we are off on our hollibobs tomorrow morning.

Some pleasures:

1) Not really a pleasure, woke up yesterday with dreadful toothache, managed to get an emergency appointment at the dentist. The offending tooth is broken and infected and needs to come out, discussed options and will go for an implant though I'm pretty traumatised about the procedure! As we are away next week the dentist said best to leave the tooth in place until I have scans and stuff the day after we come home. So dosed up with antibiotics, the only pleasure being they are kicking in and it is currently very tender but no longer throbbing. I suppose the other pleasure is that it wasn't next week when we are away. Always something!

2) Finally got the car back late this afternoon, they'd had it since Tuesday but at least all the work is done and all under warranty so no cost to us and it's back for the holiday. Phew! 

3) Packing is not my favourite thing to do but decisions made and it's done now and apart from last-minute stuff all stashed in the car. Clothes and spares for every eventuality!

4) Brother and SIL from Wiltshire have arrived at other brother's house, will stay tonight and then we will all meet up tomorrow morning. Looking forward to another week away together. Heading to the Yorkshire coast, forecast is looking pretty good, accommodation has great sea views, can almost smell the fish and chips at The Magpie. 

5) House is all clean and tidy for when we get back.

Quiet day. Not feeling 100% so just took it very easy. Has been a day most ghastly weather wise.

Cleaned the fridge and freezer. 

Shared takeaway with DD2 when she picked up Pup.

Printed out next weeks service. 

And that was about it!
