Morning all.
The weekend again, these weeks are whizzing by.
Recent pleasures:
1) Fab day in the city and favourite bookshop for a browse and tea and cake in their cafe. Books were perused and purchased. Yummy fish and chips for tea.
2) A day at home yesterday after much gadding this week, pootled and pottered, changed beds and generally sorted. Tried on some new tops, not such a pleasure - either they are a funny shape or I am, so they are packed up to be returned.
3) Sat reading/dozing in my summerhouse in the afternoon and DIL popped her head through the door with a beautiful bunch of peonies which she knows are my favourite. No reason, just because...awww!
4) Then she popped back a bit later to say did I want a Pina Colada. Oh, go on then, why not. So we finished up sitting with her and son in the garden with cocktails til very late. Nice to be outside, the air was heavy but very warm.
5) So a slowish start this morning, packing for a couple of days away with brother and his wife, looks like we will be lucky with the weather. Looking forward to a catchup and couple of HH properties to wander round.
Have a good weekend.

Yes to the cricket and South Africa winning, it really is the year where the underdog prevails.
Moving some pictures around to mix things up, we hung a much loved rose print from DM’s house in our bedroom and it perfectly matches the room, bit of an aaahh moment.
The latest videos of our rescue dog, we are still waiting on transport to be confirmed but keeping everything crossed that it will be in July, nothing will ever replace small dog but we have a lot of love to offer a canine pal.

Frith, they would be fly rugs, my girlie has one. The science apparently shows that flying bitey things are confused by the pattern. For yesterday,
Early up and watering the pots & containers in my PJ’s, good job we don’t have any near neighbours!
Out after breakfast and we headed over to Ickworth House for a look around. I am always more interested in the servant quarters than anything else and they had some good volunteers ( actors?) playing the parts of various members of staff. We met the housekeeper and butler then had a good long chat with the cook in the kitchen. My grandma was in service doing just that before her marriage to Grandad so I found it fascinating.
Stopped for a cold drink and shared a cheese scone. Met a very cute spaniel puppy.
Home and another afternoon snooze.
Evening walk and watched the aerial acrobatics of the Swifts.5
