Been another beautiful day here.
Up early.
Had a ouchy ouch massage this morning.Went to CP for an hour or so. Had a nice doggy walk and then finished painting the steps. Brought home the fire pit I’d been given for free.
Then home to do a bit more fence painting.Sat for a wee bit in garden but got warm.More painting after I had leftover lasagna for tea.Just watered the pots at front door. And had a nice chat with neighbour across the road.Need to do a wee bit of work admin now ( meant to do earlier…oops) so I get paid! Then an early night.7 -
Shocked to see the squirrels demolishing the neighbour’s magnolia blooms, just sitting there eating them like they are the tastiest treat known!
I’m feeling a bit generally grumpy today very unusual for me, it’s just a mix of everything and this too will pass, so I thought a bit of sensible cooking healthy gut etc, I cooked up a chicken risotto packed with good things
Revising for something to be prepared, hopefully more on this in a few days.
Animal snuggles of course.
Remembered to order some pond fish food, the last lot from a few years ago has just run out, I couldn’t justify the independent prices, it ended up being an Amazon order.

For yesterday,
Had thought my Montana clematis was a bit dead & buried but now has plenty of greenery on it thanks to these sunny days.
Spring cleaning continues, today it was the upstairs windows, pleasure is when it’s done.
The tiniest blue t*t having a bath.
My girl had the farrier but he was held up due to another horse needing sedation so I sat with her in stable and we listened to a podcast.

Another beautiful day here, Making the most of it!
Up early full of good intentions and then dozed off again and had weird dreams. Woken up by DD2 calling me.She had a GP appointment so off we went and walked through the park which was full of trees with blossom blowing around like confetti.Popped into charity shop at that end of town which is probably my favourite one. Got…a zippy wooly cardigan hoody (men’s but will be my caravan hoody for early morning walks! ) and a gorgeous jumper that is the palest of baby blue. And a black spotty blouse on the sale rail for work. A basket for caravan. A game of draughts and dominoes for caravan too. And then DD2 got a couple of things. Then big supermarket…this is why I go to my local one where I know where everything is! Sun cream, eye serum ( only buy when it’s on offer) garden hose, two new pillows which I was putting in the spare room in the caravan but will swap them for next best from spare room here! and a very nice smelling diffuser again for the caravan! It gets treated better than I do!Had a scone at old work. And a blether! And then it was home, hello doggy and painty clothes back on! Seriously lacking motivation to paint but I did! So the back fence and raised beds are painted. And just did the first coat on one of the side panels but by then I was seriously seriously lacking!! I have done enough for today.Did a bit of weeding/chucking out plants that have definitely died off. Garden bin emptied tomorrow. Planted some bits I had bought the other week. Quick chat with neighbour friend as she was going by.Had a mince round from freezer with beans and made some thin wedges with the few potatoes I had left! Honestly I’m like old mother Hubbard! And I’ve washed all my bedding so I need to go and make that all up!6 -
For yesterday,
Awake early and listening to the dawn chorus while reading my book, peaceful start.
Tackled Mount Ironmore, I had pulled out a couple of linen shirts from the spare wardrobe but they were so crumpled I popped them in wash as much easier to do when still damp, if I remember!
Did some Pilates.
Headed over to BuryStEds to visit feed store and stock up on girlie’s chaff & balancer, also picked up a bag of garlic granules as she is running low and the wee beasties will be around soon.
Watched the last Bergerac, have enjoyed.

Frith - wonderful news!OS pleasures recentlyThe joy of cleaning fresh line dried bedlinen. (I wonder what Shakespeare would have said.)As treasurer, brewing tea strong enough to trot a mouse on & filling an icecream tub for a thirsty Labrador. Pet friendly, our museum! One visitor delighted by our black coffee “delicious & no Costa fuss!” (Nescaff in a teapot…)Feeling the community spirit as part of a group of strangers who joined to help Michael, a senior chap who fell over & hit his head & with whom we stayed until the wonderful paramedics took over.My sisters have bought mum a pelargonium (some kind of geranium, apparently) for her birthday & I suggested ‘Audrey’ as a nice name & mum stumped us all with a decisive ‘Hermione!’.Left the door open to fetch in line drying & came eyeball to eyeball on the stairs with a cat. Who dodged past me up the stairs. Youngest calmly sorted doors & invited our guest back out. I am so fortunate that he deals with the unexpected so smoothly, from the car battery charging to the full hour out clock to the first aid delay.QI & Sandi opening the champagne with a sword, “it’s the most fun you’ll have with your clothes on” absolutely!I look like Conan at the end of his life “wearing the jewelled crown of acrimony” - what have I done to Youngest ?! (He’d not realised acrimony was a real word!)Stumped upstairs to find I’ve squoggled my knee somewhat. (If that shows up in the OED, I will be somewhat put out, but accept Dahl got there first.) Nothing rest then targeted exercise can’t fix, I hope! The penalty of working from home, in comfortable scruffs, is you go on working several hours past sensible, as it isn’t time to shuck off Social Trousers.“We didn’t get broccoli, so you’ll have to have spinach.” (Alongside spam & other colourful veg, it’s delicious! I am so lucky!)We’ve a distinctly neurodiverse trainee, who is coping with the accountancy & technology brilliantly, but is making me realise quite how much we use metaphor (let alone little social lies) to ease conversation. I have a new perspective on why Puritans were thought to be a bit of a handful.Scout planning - we have plans for them, oh my word we have plans…Lovely colleague seeing a cherry tree in blossom took a photo & texted it to me - it’s like the first cup of tea of the day for the soul.Ah QI! “ We used to think that if we knew one, we knew two, because one and one are two. We are finding that we must learn a great deal more about 'and'. Arthur Eddington”Dear me. A trainee has been told if a customer gets particularly difficult to kick their mentor in the kneecap & run like hell. I’m not sure which is more dangerous, a difficult customer or a mentor who bears a grudge. (As a mentor, naturally, I won’t be taking that trainee Anywhere.)I woke to a dream that suggested someone was at the door & it took a few seconds (you really can’t measure time accurately, felt like near half an hour) to realise that it was Youngest going off to class.Whilst every exam candidate has my wholehearted sympathy, I also spare a moment for the invigilators; who have to coax their twitchy little charges into & over the water. (They then get the afternoon off, I got to mark the papers….)Health strength love & courage to all as have need, hospital car parking spaces likewise and may the weekend arrive with all hoped for.6
